Elber looks sharply at the dwarf and adresses him with some authority to his voice. "Narder Ordan runs with a wanted man known as Scorpion, who raids the traders along these roads. You best be explaining what else you know, beginning with where and how you met Ordan."
Nadrael plays a few ominous chords on her lute after Elber's threatening statement, adding an overly dramatic atmosphere to the conversation, as she feels this could have been a much more civil conversation with a fellow musician.
Rinarv looks mildly surprised. "A wanted man, you say? Funny, he seemed a nice enough chap. Well, first impressions can be decieving." He coughs and blinks. "Lemme help you with that." He says to Duncan. (Rinarv Helps Duncan lift the coffers.)
Landrae takes a moment to decide if she feels the dwarf is being honest about Ordan's interaction, considering how casually he has brushed it off, before she tries to calm Elber down.
As far as Landrae can tell, the dwarf poses no threat. "Calm down, laddie." He says to Elber as he strains to lift the coffer. "Nobody every got anywhere good with an aggressive attitude like that."
As far as Landrae can tell, the dwarf poses no threat.
((@JJ - posing no threat and being truthful aren't exactly the same thing, but I am taking that to mean that she believes he met Ordan with honest intentions and parted his company as such... If that's not how Landrae shoudl read the situation, then please clarify. @ Elber - I hope the harp was bigger than his back...))
Very slowly, but with an intensity that only partially veils the anger behind her words, Landrae breathes, "Elber, lower your bow... now. " She stalks towards Elber, stands in front of him, "You could have fired that arrow at any number of targets to get his attention, but harming a man's instrument is simply unacceptable!" She punctuates the last word with a slap to Elber's cheek. "Now take a moment to get over your paranoia, and we can wrinkle out the creases in Rinarv's tale." Without waiting for a response from Elber, Landrae turns her back on him and moves to place a foot on the coffers that Rinarv and Duncan were lifting.
Meeting the harpist's eyes, and speaking in a sweet tone with a hint of expectancy, "Though he may somewhat pointed in his conversational manner, our friend does get to the heart of a concern we all share. We'd love to know more of your time with Narder Ordan. How you met him, how long you rode together for, and how long ago did you part ways? Will do for a start, and then Duncan will probably gladly return to helping you with your wares."
Persuasion17 - since Elber's imtimidation roll seemed unexpectedly ineffective...
Elber lowers his bow and briefly glances towards Landrae, but his attention is still focused on the dwarf who at least up until now has been stubbornly refusing to aid in the capture of a dangerous criminal.
Rinarv shrugs. "Met him about ten miles down the road. He said he was headed for Thithladroth, so I offered him a ride. We parted ways an hour or so down the road. He said he had business to attend to. Something about a druid acquaintance of his in the forest, if I recall correctly. He didn't speak much, but it was sure useful to have him around when these coffers kept falling out of the durned wagon." He kicks the wagon for emphasis.
"So you have been riding alone for the last hour? Strange that he got ahead of you after parting ways... Did he carry on down the road, or take to the woods?" Landrae motions to help the dwarf with his coffers, so that Duncan can recover his glaive.

Jack is still in the wagon, not making himself known. Peering through the holes to make sure no one is approaching
There's an echo of twangs as Elber lets his arrow fly, not to harm the dwarf but to sever the strings on his harp, as a warning shot.
((Do I even need to roll? I feel like the ample time given to aim and my Sharpshooter feat should make a trickshot plausible.))

(Something as difficult as severing the strings on a harp does require a roll)

The arrow whistles through the dwarf's hair. Rinarv scratches his head in surprise. "Now, was there really any need for that?" He asks.
