"Morning, friends," Jackson says coming out of his room, sitting next to Nil. He drops a gold piece on the counter before Nil can pay. "We appreciate everything you've done thus far, innkeeper."
Jackson then turns to Harukai. "What are you suggesting we do with the cloaks, Brother? I was simply thinking of traveling into the hills and using one of us to bait a patrol, but should you have a more clever idea...."
“I am not sure exactly, but we have Iarno’s staff, what I think are his clothes, and plenty of redbrands cloaks. From what Droop said, the redbrands are allies with the goblins in the service of this “Spider” creature. Perhaps if we appear as “Glasstaff” and his redbrands, we can get the drop on the goblins. Sadly, I have little skill in this kind of misdirection...Perhaps Nilparin has an idea?”

"I like the idea of misdirecting them to get the drop on them. I could speak for you as a herald of sorts if you think that would work better." Nil pulls the cloaks hood up covering most of his face and using a gruffer voice "Whadya think?"
Harukai stands up after breakfast and puts the hood of his cloak partially over his face, leaning on his glass staff. He intones in a pompous tone he imagines Iarno would use...
”Shall we go?”

OOC: To answer the earlier questions, the few redbrands left in town were at the sleeping giant tap house and shed their cloaks before taking off east, probably heading to the city of Triboar, which lies on the other side of the Sword Mountains.
The clothing is travel clothes, but definitely more fancy that most individuals would wear. To use them with the staff may fool the goblins, dependant on how observant they are.
Sildar has joined your group for breakfast and says "gentlemen, I am happy to accompany you wherever is needed. I pray we are in time to save Gundren."
Sildar says “yes I am ready, if you have a spare cloak I can borrow to join in the deception”
the group heads to the outlying hills just south of town. After waiting for some time, you see a group of four cragmaw goblins traveling along one of the walking trails.
The lead goblin immeditly takes a defensive stance upon being yelled at, but relax slightly and smile, showing their sharp teeth. “What type of business, Mr Glassstaff?”
”Either we try to be nice and tell him our business—claiming rights to the dwarf prisoner, or we intimidate and say our business is with the king and for his ears only. Handle it how you wish.”

"That is none of your business we have come with word from the Black Spider himself, now unless you want your king to kill you I advise you take us to him immediately"
The goblins shudder at the mention of the Black Spider. They are aware the Iarno was working with the spider so they do not wish to incur his wrath.
They attempt to save face by making a threat of their own. The lead goblin, holding his shortsword points it toward Nil and says “cragmaw do not take kindly to threats! We will take you to the castle but one day you may not be under the Spider’s protection.”
They beging escorting you north of town into the Neverwinter Wood. The castle is on the southwest portion of the wood, just north of Phandalin
Pulling out the letter from the Black Spider to Glasstaff, Harukai studies it and shows it to Nilparin—”Perhaps we can also use this to our advantage.” He whispers.
Louder, he says “Those ‘Strangers’ working with the dwarves defeated Yemick in the caves, and we were barely able to deal with them. In fact, we are all that is left of the Redbrands in the area. We must move up our timetable and deliver the Dwarf and his map from the castle to the Spider as soon as possible if our plans are to succeed.”

This is a modest meal of bacon, eggs, bread and butter all sourced from the area farmers. 1 silver for this meal.

“It sounds like the Redbrands are abandoning the area. Let’s stay focused on finding that castle. Into the hills to look for a goblin patrol, then?”

Of course we give an extra cloak to Sildar.
“You’re up, Nilparin.”
Harukai whispers as he stands with his glass staff clearly visible.

“Well done, Nilparin. I will continue to behave as if speaking to these goblins is beneath me, letting you be my spokesman.”
Harukai speaks softly to Nilparin well out of earshot of the goblins.
”Let us keep up this ruse as long as it seems useful. Perhaps they will let some helpful information slip or give a clue to Gundren’s location.”
