At 100 feet or so away, the glow is a bit more prominent, but in the dead of night in a forest you still can't make much else out, even with dark vision (60 ft). You can see though, as it gets closer, the large, wide glow begins to separate into two smaller 'things' that glow. You can hear a very faint rustling of leaves coming from the direction of the glow.

((At this point Liet does what i wrote above for sure. Waking up the party and setting the fire alight, as well as putting distance between himself and the glowing things)) ((in case it's needed: initiative 5))
ooc: If you allow a little falshback, I came up with a cuople of reason on how/why to join the party, @Baron: tell me which one you prefer:
1) Benagol knows Liet from when he was a teenager, then they lost contact because he joined the army for annual levy (at the end he didn't sign even if he was considered talented, he just wanted to be on his own). He met the others just outside the village while he was going home from hunting game. Willing to share the game for dinner with he others, Liet explains what and why they are doing and he decides to join
2) Benagol knows Rhukis (and so also Nalla a little) from when he was a teenager, then they lost contact because he joined the army for annual levy (at the end he didn't sign even if he was considered talented, he just wanted to be on his own). After Nalla and Rukhis parted, he met Rukhis in a tavern and, after some drinks, the dwarf reveals Nalla's intention and needs for a further hand: he then decides to join
Benagol description
Bengol is a young man in his tewnties, 1,80 m tall, dark brown hair and eyes with moustaches. He is talented with weapon, especially polaerm ones.
From the others is considered not really politically correct, eas with dirty jokes and a little filthy approach.
Generally he doesn't like to be told what to do: that's why he refused to join the army: the salary was not bad actually, now he is almost regretting, so he is search of new adventures, also to replenish is little purse.
He is not evil, he is just indipendent and minds his own: if this meets what others are doing, he is more than willing to help.
He usually wears a horned helmet, an armor and his pike that, during travels, he also uses as a walking staff

NALLA
Wakeness Roll: 3
(Seeing as Nalla was awake when the lights first appeared:) Nalla didn't move when she first saw the lights. She sat quietly, hoping the lights would just move on their way (while also secretly hoping they would come). As soon as the lights looked to be moving closer and as soon as Liet moved to awaken McFuddy, Nalla silently pulls out her Hand Axes. She quietly shuffles to where Liet and McFuddy are behind her, giving them enough room so they can make their ranged attacks, but close enough that if the lights want to attack them then they'll have to go through her first.

McFuddy
I would be asleep in a tree, but close enough that a pebble or stick could be tossed up to awake me. Once awakened, ill have my bow drawn, and arrow nocked, instantly i pull the arrow and aim at leit (where the rock or stick came from) as he points (assuming he would be) I'd look in that direction and not have the arrow pulled anymore. Do I know what these are? (History 17 Nature 20 ) Would I have a clear shot from here?
((Quick FYI, McFuddy. If you want me to note a specific post of yours click the 'reply' button on one of my posts (like you did for this one). If not, just reply in the block at the bottom. If you click 'reply' it adds an extra notification to me~))
((none of you have darkvision, correct?))((the campfire puts out light to say... 20 feet?))
The rustling gets louder as the glow edges closer and closer. McFuddy, in all your years in the forest you haven't seen this, whatever it is. At least you can't tell yet, as it's too far away. The two wide glows separate yet again into four as they inch slowly closer. They are now 60...50....40....30 feet away, just outside the light of the campfire.
((a torch is 20 feet bright, and another 20 feet dim. I would argue that a campfire would be more bright than that. Your call of course. - it is crazy that none of us have darkvision though lol)) ((@Jess - we might need your initiative soon...))
As the four glowing entities shamble their way forward they come into the dim outskirts of light provided by the campfire. The glow is greatly diminished by the nearby flames, and you can all make out four knee high bushes, faintly glowing violet, shimmying slowly toward you.
@mcfuddy. You recognize these plants... Sort of.... They are similar to what the locals call awakened shrubs. But they look somehow different, and the glow is certainly new. They have always been typically harmless, catching small game that wander too close, and only in the deepest parts of the woods. You can't tell if they are still harmless or not, but they are definitely not in their normal part of the forest. They are 30 feet away and heading toward you all, slowly...
Roll initiative as well as perception. @mcfuddy I have your init.
"uhh... well, bush, do you speak? do you have a way to speak? or hear?.... am i just talking to a plant?"
If no response, I would put away my bow, jump down to the ground, and kneel down, 15 feet in front of the bush. I would reach my left hand out palm up, showing friendliness. (my right hand near my sword. and signaling to nalla to stay back.)
The bushes do not respond. As you jump down, you notice a couple more glowing auras in the distance, well over 100 feet away.
The four bushes in front of you are 15 feet away and continue to advance, all converging on McFuddy, slowly, as he's now in the front.
As soon as McFuddy raises his hand toward the bushes an ear piercing shriek erupts from one, then another, then all four. The horrible noise echoes throughout the otherwise silent woods. Everyone roll a constitution save or be deafened!
The shrubs continue their wailing, all the while slowly advancing toward McFuddy. The faint glow now grows a bit brighter and begins to pulse as their shrieking fills your ears.

McFuddy
Constitution 11
I let out my own screech (sounds like a really prolonged goose honk) and pull out both of my swords. I would go from my knee into a jump as I stand up, as my wings flap, then I land right in front, (nearly on top) of the bush nearest me, favoring the left most creature. I slash with both of my swords in a downward x right through the bush.
Attack Attack: 22 Damage: 5 Second hand attack Attack: 13 Damage: 9
((How far apart are all these things from each other and from each of us? I pictured Liet running behind the others, so hopefully at some range. But not sure about the enemies themselves))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
McFuddy trims the hedge into Oblivion. It falls to pieces, and the screeching stops, but the ringing in McFuddy and Liet's ears continue. The other three bushes continue their noise. The nearest bush to McFuddy stretches out a branch and attempts to scratch at him.
((Can you tell me what the total battlefield looks like now? How many glowing bushes there are. Where they are in relation to us and each other. etc. I'm having a hard time picturing what's happening at the moment))
