I have played a lot of D&D in my life, and I know this is entirely anecdotal, and yes, the plural of anecdote is not data, but I have never rolled as many critical misses in real life as I have with the PbP dice roller. Has anyone done an analysis of the dice roller's output?
20 times: 241 ...is an average of 12, well above the expected 10.5
100 times: 1032 ...is an average of 10.12, below the expected 10.5
1000 times: 10570 ...and that's right on target at an average of 10.5
In other words, who knows? I guess I need to research standard deviations? Or just live with it.
EDIT: or check my real dice, maybe I've been living with 'good' dice all along?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
