occ: what about the Ranger guy...?
Stormbringer inspects the ground for tracks as he moves in the direction that the goblin ran. (survival:17) Though he doesn't see any tracks he keeps up his quick pace following what seems to be a trail in the vicinity of where the goblin was last seen.
Fergus realizes that each of them are moving in slightly different directions and before long they would separted.
He shouts "Hold a moment priest. Let's not get ourselves separated. There may be more goblins lurking nearby. Running off into the woods like a bLind hound after a squirrel will only get us killed. And we can do no one any good if we are dead. Let's regroup and discuss our options. "

As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
"Too true, Master Graysmith. Too true." Stormbringer starts to make his way back towards the knight when he notices Krisnen's focus and veers off toward him. "Did you find anything master monk?" The half orc asks. Then he calls out to the knight, "Graysmith, I think he's picked up their trail come quick!" Enog claps the dwarf on the back. "Good work Krisnen my friend! We're back on the hunt!" Stormbringer proclaims triumphantly.
[The dwarf monk finds a series of tracks: 3 of them are clearly tall humanoids, 2 of them can belong to small humanoid...or to youngsters. The trail seems to lead north-east, toward the shore. Sunset is approaching.]
Krisnen bends down and points out the tracks to companions. "Looks like we head north east"
OOC: I apologize for my friend, I spoke to him at work yesterday and he said he was going to finish up and post but he may have been sidetracked by family. I will speak to him again here in a couple hours and see what his statusis.
Fergus once again checks the sun and notes that time has slipped by really fast.
"Nay, Priest. We have traveled far today and we are all showing signs of exhaustion. Besides our collective wilderness skills being what they are we will need full light not to lose the trail. I say we mark the location of the trail so as not to lose it over night. Dwarf you did good, but I fear I must ask more of you. Please gather as much wood as possible for a fire, five fires to be exact. Priest you and I need to find a pair of spades and get to digging whilst there is still amplenty sun.
We are going to give those people a proper burial. And we have to burn the goblin and the wolf before their stench attracts scavengers."
With that Fergus will search the grounds for a digging tool. And dig five shallow graves. He will then cover them with stones, hopefully before it gets too dark.
Fergus looks back at this two companions and hollers "Let's move like we have a purpose. "

"As fervent as ye are, those kids won't have time for us to be sleeping, not to mention if rain comes, having the trail marked may not help us at all, if it be the will of the entire group, then so be it." Krisnen says as he begins gathering wood, just in case it is the will of the group.
OOC: Trying to track at night will also be harder. For one darkvision makes everything lightly obscured, two if we push ourselves we risk exhaustion, three we have had two minor skirmishes so I am sure that some of you are injured, if only slightly, and four and final if the other guy shows up then tracking, foraging, etc should be easier, especially if he plays a ranger. I was all about chasing down the kids when we had four hours of daylight but apparently looking for tracks took a while.

OOC: Fairs points on Darkvision and exhaustion, I still haven't used my hit die so a short rest would allow me to probably recoup a good amount of hit points. I don't know where we stand on healing spells, but I assume not a lot were used (assuming Enog carries them at all being a cleric of the storm; sidebar: We had a cleric of tempest once who in every town we went would attempt to convert people to be Followers of the Storm, hilarity ensued)
"Nay master Graysmith, we've no time to tarry. If we tarry we risk loosing the children altogether," the halforc says adamantly.
ooc: I don't think we're any where near hitting exhaustion. Secondly, even if we were risking exhaustion, this is certainly a situation where Enog's flaw would come into play.
Ooc: trail or tail?
As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
Krisnen begins to lose hope that the trail of the goblin will be found, "Mind if I give a shot?" he asks as he moves into the lead.
OOC: Thats not the best luck your having there. Let me give it a go.

Fergus hurries to the dwarf, a feeling of hope building in his guts. They have had nothing but I'll fortune since this journey had begun.
"Tis true Dwarf? Have you located the trail of the young ones?"

occ: I vote we press on, both the dwarf and the half orc have dark vision. If necessary we can lead the human.
OOG ( gapmasta please, if you are still interested, post your character sheet)

[Indeed, by rules, if one day passes, the DC to track something increases.]

OOG ( ok so I assume that the party take a long rest now, and then first thing in the morning follow the trail )

OOG: Here is my sheet Ranger.
Long days and pleasant rolls to everyone.
OOG ( wardsey and madclergy are more favourable to go now. Auberginian to rest first. gapmasta what is your thinking? )
OOG I'm OK with going now and if we feel like were getting close or tired then we can stop for the night.
Long days and pleasant rolls to everyone.
