"Yeah but having nothing to do can make someone curious, they may have some idea about what's been going on in town. they could even know something about the disappearances if we're lucky."

Looking around the area Bel spots a nice alcove in a nearby alleyway that will hide them fairly well for the time being.
"Lets bring them over here, we'll attract less attention. Should one of us go find Gary and/or alert the guards about the incident?"

"Go then, there are other worlds than these." -Stephen King, The Gunslinger
As Gary scours the street signs, he notices that a certain symbol always pops up - a reddish oval with an eye within it and a thin golden line around its circumference.
"I've seen this symbol before," Darion murmered, tracing a finger over the dagger's surface. "A cult once cropped up in a portion of my family's lands. I was sent to oversee the dispatchment... Of course that was before the whole incident occured." Darion casually laughed as he put the dagger in his Bag of Holding. "It's merely a cult symbol. Fairly common. I can take it to the local church, of course, to see if it's been cursed or something, but if it's fine, I may keep it as a memento of our time in this city."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gary heads back to the town square to rendezvous with the others as he ponders this symbol he has been seeing. He eagerly awaits the others to see what they may have learned.
(OOC not sure what check to roll for this, so here's a bunch of them: [Religion 17] [History 18] [Arcana 7])

Socarin continues to search the streets for Gary starting to get worried that he might have been taken by the cult. Feeling defeated he walks into the town square to find Gary standing around deep in thought.
"Gary, I found you." crossing the square in a full sprint he grabs hold of Gary and starts pulling him towards the slums. "You have to come see what we found. If they haven't been interrogated yet you may be able to help." Socarin gives Gary the run down of what happened in the alley between deep breaths and sporadic ramblings.
Gary follows Socarin into the alley. On the way, he says "I'm glad that all of you are alive, with everything else going on losing any of you would be tragic. Are you feeling alright? Has the guard been contacted yet? Is anyone injured? Do we know why they attacked you unprovoked?"
Suddenly overwhelmed by all the question, Bel puts a hand on garys shoulder to quite him.
"Gary, we're alright, just a bit of a scare is all." Bel grimices a bit then says. "Two of them were.. quieted, one of them ran, and these two I put to sleep." Gesturing to the 2 unconcious thugs that were tied up and gagged.
"We're hoping to learn some about the town from them, if they don't know anything then we can just turn them over to the guards."
Bel takes out her flute. "I think we can begin, cover your ears, i want to give these guys the waking they deserve." She then puts the flute to her mouth and produces a earsplitting wistle to wake the thugs from her spell.
With a sudden scream, the thugs wake up. One looks flustered, but his facial expression quickly turns to anger - "Wh' ye tryin roun ere. Now blas' of er' I'l git ye!" The other thug is much too scared to say anything, but even that doesn't prevent him from thrashing around.
Darion decides to step in here. "Hello, my friends," he started, placing a hand on the wall above them, creating the illusion that he was towering over the men. "I suppose you wouldn't happen to know what the deal is with this-" Darion drew the dagger from the Bag of Holding, holding it directly above the screaming thug's head. "-being in the possession of some men who would so brazenly attack three innocent bystanders? I'm sure that if the guard heard about this, they would quite quickly root out the source of the problem." Darion smiled evilly, awaiting a response.
"One thug screams in horror then in a desperate plea - "Plese, er' can - " "Shut up Rinse. Look, here's the deal, I just was paid to keep this place for the "Skyhill". That is j..just the symbol of the Ashen-Daggers. They hold lots of sway amongst us hoodlums. The Skyhill - they paid us good money if we wear scraps, confront newcomers, and speak like fools. Just don't hurt us okay? And Rinse, drop the accent."
Bel starts to talk to them in a lighter tone, being as sincere as possible.
"Hey look we aren't gonna hurt you guys, just tell us what we want to know and everything will be alright. Now who or what is this Skyhill? Do they anything to do with the disappearances here in town?"
The one who just talked, not Rinse, but his friend, starts speaking. "The Skyhill is just what they called themselves. It really was nothing. Just a weird, raspy guy all in black with oddly shaped gloves who called himself an emissary of "Skyhill". For all I know, Skyhill doesn't exist. As for the disappearances, I really don't know. We just got paid to rough up all who pass by here, so my guess that Skyhill did it. I'm not sure, and you can take my word for it."
Would you recognize that man, if you saw him again?
Mjoll asked
Obviously we do not bear you a grudge, you were doing just what you had been paid to do. You knew the risks of your ahem profession and any injuries you sustain are part and parcel of that.
"I get it. I just didn't expect you all to be this tough. We normally just get a single investigator or a few rival gangs, but never a bunch of trained magic investigators. Hell, the last time I ever lost a gangman in the line of fire is when we had to face off a particularly ruthless investigator. We got the slip though. As for the man, yes, I could easily identify him. He was wearing clothes with a stature that was much too big to be normal, even for a particularly large man. His hands were also bone-thin and I could see the depressions on his gloves - as if he was skeletal with hands much too small for his gloves. Also, that voice - that voice. It was like the metallic scraping of nails coupled with the demonic voices of the abyss - it was plain terrifying. But he promised us good money and some relative protection, so we took it. We even never actually killed anyone. We would just rough 'em up, then pick up them up and put them away somewhere else."
Just before Socarin gets the dagger into the backpack Darion calls out. Socarin hands the dagger over to Darion for a better look.
Mjoll smiles as she addresses her companions.
Friends is there anything we want to question these ruffians about? Possibly discover who they work for etc
"I was thinking of seeing if they have any information on the missing people in the area."
Socarin looks around the area, "I am assuming they have nothing and spend most of their time waiting for travellers to walk into their midst."
"Yeah but having nothing to do can make someone curious, they may have some idea about what's been going on in town. they could even know something about the disappearances if we're lucky."

Socarin is walking the streets looking for Gary so that he can bring the team back together.
Perception 1
Socarin remembers he is looking for someone that is taller than him so looking at the ground while walking was not going to get the job done.
Gary heads back to the town square to rendezvous with the others as he ponders this symbol he has been seeing. He eagerly awaits the others to see what they may have learned.
