Frowning at Mulligan, Reidoth shakes his head. “If it were that simple, I’d have done it before now,” he says grimly. He gestures at the cottage door. “Shall we?”
Delg moves to the door of the cottage, pausing on the threshold to look inside. He is looking more for structural dangers and traps though he doesn't expect to be good on that. Perception: 19
He'll step in and sidle along the wall, pressing his back against it as he moves toward the connecting wall. He'll stop in the corner til the others are ready.
Looking around with his keen eye for stonework, Delg doesn't spot any traps or anything else suspicious. It appears that the cottage has just been left to decay by its previous inhabitant. Delg can still hear the faint thrum and breathing, though they have gotten louder.
Delg - you make it over to the corner almost silently. However, as Ajax and Mulligan step into the cottage, the clanking of various metal bits on their bodies is obvious. You hear the rhythm of the breathing behind the door change. Reidoth's eyes grow wide and he begins to mutter and gesture, and as you watch, his skin takes on a bark-like texture.
Moving quickly towards the door inside the cottage, Ajax pulls it open. Inside, you see a single room with a 40-foot-high ceiling. A 5-foot-wide staircase circles the interior, rising to the now-opened rooftop. Heavy wooden beams and stair supports crisscross the tower interior. In the light coming in through the hole in the roof, you see a large green dragon slowly raise its head. As its slitted eyes take in the group, it begins to chuckle.
Roll initiative!
Delg - you may post your Guiding Bolt attack, as it will go off prior to beginning initiative rounds.
As the dragon's head begins to rise, Delg fires off his spell. It impacts the dragon, causing a faint outline to shimmer around it. ((The next attack on the dragon will have advantage.))
Init: Mulligan
Delg
Dragon
Ajax
Reidoth
((You may all post your actions with any necessary die rolls - they will occur in initiative order. The dragon is currently on the ground level, but there are beams criss-crossing the open tower where it could fly up and perch.))
Mulligan, with his typical lack of subtlety, will simply run up to the dragon and try to smash its head in with his hammer:
Attack: 24 Damage: 6
If his attack hits, he will expend a superiority die to use a Distracting Strike, which would add an additional 6 damage and give advantage to the next attack taken by somebody other than me as long as it occurs before the start of my next turn.
"Yeah, that's what I thought. Let's go."

Ajax gives in, realizing he gave up the surprise
Since he was responsibile for the sound, he offers himself to go ahead
Only when everybody is ready (see it as READY ACTION from them on whatever may come from the door), he opens it
Delg will ready Guiding Bolt if the dragon rears up.

Assuming he's within attack range:
Mulligan, with his typical lack of subtlety, will simply run up to the dragon and try to smash its head in with his hammer:
Attack: 24 Damage: 6
If his attack hits, he will expend a superiority die to use a Distracting Strike, which would add an additional 6 damage and give advantage to the next attack taken by somebody other than me as long as it occurs before the start of my next turn.
I think the 6 from the superiority die is doubled as well, so that's an additional 12.
ooc: I guess Delg will use that advantage from Mullligan, so I don't consider it
Ajax gulps and cannot but charge forward, shouting
THERE IS NOTHING TO SMILE (bonus action: VOW OF EMNITY)
and then attacking the creature with his weapon (with advatnage for 1/10 rounds):
attack: Attack: 13 Damage: 8
and using a spell for DIVINE SMITE, provoking a brilliant light from the hedge of the weapon the moment it hits the dragon ( 9 radiant damages)
