If the "human sized" buildings look ornate / ceremonial, Strix approaches the nearest one, has a quick look for any obvious trap triggers and then opens it, in the hope that the Skull is guarding it and will come running to stop him. Perception : 23
If they look like some kind of ramshackle lean-to, follow Scupper. No one opens a lead on Strix! :D
In either case, "sheathe" the Quarterstaff in it's loop on his pack and draw the spear so he has at least 1 ranged shot.

“Fly on fate’s feathers, friend,” Incantis telepaths to Dekhan, peeking around the corner and giving him bardic inspiration. He lets out an eldritch blast and calls out to the skull. “What could one as powerful as yourself deign to guard against?”

Strix, the building is permanent and looks well constructed, but it is also damaged. As you inspect it, you don't see any sign of traps, but you can see that the door has been blasted and burnt, and the hinges have partially melted. As you reach to push it open, it gives a little, but you cannot open it.
(You used your action to investigate, and can use your action next turn to attempt to force the door open, if you wish.)
Incantis, your blast of eldritch power hits the skull and sends it toppling through the air to the north; you can see cracks appearing in it, and dust falls from it - it's in very bad shape.

Dekhan glides down towards the ground at once lowering Vaz to the ground and closing on the skull once more he draws in a huge breath and vomits acidic bile at the flaming undead 14
Dekhan, would you like to describe how you end the unlife of this skull?
Dekhan is in the cavern, Varinth and Incantis in the tunnel to the south, Scupper at the door of the structure in the starry cavern to the east, and Scupper north of Strix headed down the stairs.
You are out of initiative for the moment. What would you like to do?
Strix bangs the stuck door with the shaft of his spear, calling "Being naughty, un-pal! Should stop!" over his shoulder. When he notices that the eldritch flames are no longer lighting the room behind him up he slinks back sheepishly.
"Well done..."he mutters to Dekhan, eying the wings jealously.
If there's enough of the skull left after MD's description, Strix will take it's jawbone for posterity.
Incantis looks around in a moment of restrained triumph. "I hope that won't change our fates for the worse..."Tentatively, he enters the starry crystal cavern, his dubiousness giving way to sheer awe.

The top half of the skull hisses and bubbles as the acid eats away at it. The glow fades and the eyes wink out as the remainder drops to the floor. While he still has them Dekhan uses his wings to fly up to the ceiling and do a survey of the immediate area to see if there’s any indication what this skull was guarding. investigation0
Dekhan, the remains of the skull, including the jawbone which seems undamaged, drops to the floor, skitters a little, and comes to rest.
You investigate the cavern; you see exits leading east, west and south, and the water channel, though dry, exits the chamber east and north. You don't see anything particularly special or valuable; the furnace itself is impressive, but mundane as far as you can tell.
As you search, Strix returns to the cavern and pockets the jawbone.
Incantis, you walk to the entrance to the starry cavern, gazing at the ceiling. It's stunningly beautiful; you know of course that the 'stars' are just minerals in the earth, but that doesn't diminish the beauty and wonder in the slightest.

Varinth pivots on one foot, and with the exaggerated gait of the recently inebriated, follows the others. After a few steps he stops abruptly, creating a slow wave in his body that would be impressive if he were auditioning for Neverwinters Got Talent. He stares at his empty hand for a moment.
Oopsh.
He toddles back and picks up his staff, then joins the others.
Dekhan, Strix, and Varinth, you all follow Incantis headed east, with Varinth moving a little more slowly and shakily than the others. Like Incantis, you reach the large cavern with the stunningly beautiful ceiling that looks like the night sky filled with stars. You see nearby a building constructed on the cavern floor, and another much further to the south. A passageway leads north.

Fools. Utter fools.
Varinth is up.
AOO for Dekhan as the skull tumbles out of his range?
Varinth, imbued with the courage of a thousand red wines, runs towards Dekhan.
MISHTER DEE! OPEN UP!
Dropping his staff, he will grab Dekahns ankle, jump and stretch to hand him the dried up pepper. Dragon's Breath
ACIDO!
OOC: Just in case my elaborate magic evocation wasn't clear, the Dragon's Breath will be acid not fire...
(No, because he's not using his movement to move, so to speak)
Varinth, you can just reach Dekhan's ankle and imbue him with the power of dragon breath.
Please make a wild magic roll.
Dekhan is up.

(You are now very spread out. It's extremely unlikely that there will be any negative consequences arising from this...)
"should catch Scupps. Star cave, this way!" Strix pelts down the corridor towards the stairs.
If we're pressing on, let me know, might be needing my healing potion.
