No matter how fast he runs he can't seem to catch up with her. Why is she running? He urges his legs to move faster but they're so stumpy it doesn't make any difference. He tries to call her back but all that comes out is a piercing "kyaaaa" that only seems to spur her on. She disappears into the night.
"This is bullshit, I can see in the night"

He screams, but all that comes out are streaming feathered tendrils that bury him
The stranger stirs amidst the noise of battle, struggling feebly against his restrains with thin wiry arms and mumbling into his gag. His eyes snap open, piercing bright violet eyes that stand out against his sickly pale elven face. Asherfeels his mind touched by a foreign presence, and a voice he doesn't recognize reverberates through his consciousness.

The tight space and jostling for position gives Dario a difficult time in aiming his arrow at the Goblin or one of the wolves. He aims his arrow, trying to avoid his companions, at the Goblin and just as he is about to let the arrow go the Goblin's head gets decapitated. Quickly, Dario changes his target and aims at Wolf 3 and fires his arrow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Straight through the eye; you've practised this as a feinting tactic - changing target at the last minute. Wolf 3 might have managed to dodge, but its eyes were focused on Asher as the nearest threat, and it didn't even see you. It falls, lets out a piteous yelping sound, and goes still.
Terrified, burned almost to death, Wolf 1 scrambles to the east, slips, whines, manages to get back onto its feet, and runs east through a very narrow gap in the eastern wall. You hear it tumble and slide on the other side: 11
Mr DM, do you think that a Fire Bolt creates light as it travels?
Only a minimal amount. If the cave were pitch black, it might serve to - very briefly - illuminate something you hadn't seen before, but in this area you're still getting a fair amount of reflected moonlight from the cave mouth. That won't be the case as you move further into the cave though.
As far as you can tell, combat has now ended. What would you like to do?
Dario notches another arrow into his long bow and takes a few steps further into the cave, his aim never letting straying from the elven stranger in the corner, or is he human Dario thinks to himself. And what's he doing in this cave. Does he work with the Goblins or is he like our new paladin friend.
Dario, you see a male half-elf; it looks as if he was badly beaten, but that he hasn't been in the cave too long. He is firmly tied up and gagged, unable to move or speak; in addition to the ropes, he is also chained to the wall, as the wolves were. He is looking at Asher, but then his eyes move and he takes in the rest of the party. It's hard to be sure, but he seemed to brighten up when you all arrived and attacked the wolves; you doubt he was their ally.
Strix groans and tries to lift his hand to hold his aching head, but his arm seems to have been replaced with a bundle of bloodied rags wrapped around hot knives.
"Gaaaah! Well, that could have gone better. Ok, how about a new plan - let's deliver our cart, sell the content, the wheels, the seat cushions, and maybe just be happy with a modest income from selling artisan necklaces and broaches made from goblin bits?"
he recovers his axe and gives the nearest wolf a kick.
Dario relaxes the tension on his long bow, puts his arrow back in its quiver, and secures his long bow on his back. He goes over to the half-elf and removes the gag from his mouth. He looks over at his party and thinks this person is harmless, but I hope my new friends have my back... Dario then removes the half-elf's restraints, takes a step back, pulls out his waterskin, and tosses it down toward the half-elf. "Drink," he says to the half-elf.
Varinth, the light gets much dimmer as the tunnel you entered through continues up past the wolf cave. You’ve always had unusually good vision at night, for no particular reason. In the darkness you see, outlined in shades of dark red and about 60 feet north of you, a goblin, mostly hidden in an alcove at the side of the tunnel, unmoving, silent, watching you.

Wolf 1 is very badly burned, and barely clinging to life.
Wolf 3 dodges back against the wall whimpering, and seems to have avoided most of the damage.
Dario is up next.

Strix, you return to consciousness and see Dekhan leaning over you, his hand resting on your shoulder. You don't hear the sounds of battle around you.
How small was the hole? Could Scupper give chase before combat ends?

Before I do this, if any fires have taken hold in the antechamber I will put them out with Control Fires.

5 HP, from Lay On Hands (Paladin healing ability). I'll be sure to give some chances at death saving throws soon. :)
