Headless of Horus's caution, Andolin and Darwin rush down the creaking hallway and open the door to room 9.
You are struck by one thing immediately, THE BODY IS GONE!!
Andolin, a bit more perceptive as a hunter, notices some other changes almost as soon. The wooden furniture is suffering from long age and dry rot, while the fog diffused moonlight shines through the window. Only a few moth eaten strands of the curtains remain.
As you take this in, out of the corner of your eye, you see the last bit of the blob dissappear through the now closed closet door.
“I’m not sure, but it seems like this place is aging, every time we let something out of the closet. Perhaps Horus is right, let’s talk before we open that door again.”
Turning to Horus and the others, “The bugbear is gone, and this room seems to be withering with age, This is all very strange.”
Andolin: “I think we ought to all discuss before going any further. Each time we’ve opened a closet door where there was banging, this place seems to age. We’ve searched up here, with no new information. We could open this door again. We’ve looked a moment downstairs, but I believe there are more rooms down there we have not explored. Other than that, does anyone have any other thoughts?”
Terrance catches up having been following quietly behind. "I think Andolin's right." Though we can't be sure that everything is actually aging. It could just be sore sort of elaborate illusion." Terrance says," I think we should explore thoroughly downstairs and if that brings us nothing we should just try to leave."
"Perhaps we should step outside. If we are being enchanted, it might end if we leave?" Wren will go downstairs and check to see if the front door will open.
Cellica whirls her staff and punches the dead bugbear in the chest with a thwack and a gooey sinking sound and the staff penetrates the rotten flesh. Pulling the staff back and using it as a support she delivers both feet to the chest, stopping the creatures momentum.

Darwin's arm brushes his belt where he stored the dagger from the bubear's back... It's gone!
Hours takes a moment to look in the sparse room, open thr nightstand drawers. Other than age, the show no signs of use for many many years.
Even the hinges and simple latch of the closet are corroded with age.

BANG!!!
Something hits to the closet with terrible force. The nails holding the hinges and latch giving way.
With a second bang the door gives way, falling outward to the floor.
Lurching out of the closet comes the half rotten, headless corpse of the bugbear.
