What lies beyond the Trackless Sea in the world of Toril has always perplexed the citizens of Neverwinter. Rumors have it that great undiscovered continents with untold wealth lie there, but many dismiss them as fireside tales. As with many rumors and tales, a grain of truth is always present. The continent of Austrilis lies in this perilous sea with a great many countries. One such country is the Country of Comstalia. King Lacerca currently rules the country from the tallest mountain in the center of the country, Unus Mons, in the city Rexstalia. Four lords rule below him over the four major cities: Lord Nesteris rules the port city of Norstalia, Lord Eura rules the city of Eastalia, Lord Salari rules the city of Soutstalia and Lord Waxston rules the city of Westalia. To the east of the country of Comstalia lies the small island of Testudo Graeca. This is where we find TT, the water gensai druid.
Beautiful. Perfect. Paradise. TT lounged on her rocks enjoying the afternoon sun near the surf of the sea. The lapping of waves, the spray of sea foam on the wind, the beach, the turtles—all of these things called to TT’s heart. She could see the tower of the local village in the distance, but she did not care. “How long have I been here?” she thought. “It does not matter” she concluded “I can stay like this forever.” TT dosed and drifted into a dream. “A turtle again?” she smiled as she swam aimlessly underwater in her dream. The current of the ocean pushed TT the turtle slowly, but forcefully to the surface. As she emerged, she saw it, the true bastion of paradise: a sunlit rock on the beach. “That will be perfect” she thought as a wave crashed into the base of it. TT the turtle leisurely swam to the beach and climbed the rocks. At the top, she stretched her arms and legs and laid out “Ah, the warmth” her eyes closed “This is perf-“ TT paused “Wait, why is it cold?” TT awoke and looked at the sky “The Sun!” she said with a gasp “Where has it gone?” A thick, bellowing, unnatural smog had risen from the other side of the island blocking the Sun. “They took it” she thought “They stole my paradise.”
As TT roused herself from her nap and started heading towards the village in which she lived.
Erected on the base of an ocean, the hamlet of Uldama is home to about thirty people lead by Mrs. Merbibus. This hamlet wasn't built by an ocean by accident, as it has rare plants, which is of great importance to the people of Comstalia and its success. The hamlet itself looks graceful. With its ceramic tile rooftops, willow wood walls and white, sandy beaches, Uldama has a pleasing atmosphere. Uldama has a healthy economy, which is mainly supported by trade, mining and animal training.
TT with hunger on her mind headed to the only tavern in Uldama, the Coastal Cup. There she could grab some food and maybe find out information on the unnatural smog blocking the sun.
The Coastal Cup from the outside looks peaceful, cozy and warm. Stacked stones and soft wooden tree trunks make up most of the building's outer structure. It's impossible to see through the high windows, but the cheerful sounds from within can be felt outside. As you enter the tavern through the hardwooden door, you're welcomed by a feeling of comfort and a pleasant atmosphere. The bartender is working up a sweat, but still manages to welcome you with a wink.
It's as charming inside as it is on the outside. Marble pillars support the upper floor and the rows of small candles attached to them. The walls are clear of anything, though signs do show plenty of things used to hang on the walls, though they've probably been knocked off by customers who had too much to drink..
The tavern itself is contains a few patrons but has plenty of available seating. Travelers seem to be the primary clientele here, which often means great company. Several long tables are occupied by, what seems to be one large group of people. The other, smaller tables are also occupied by people who are clearly having a good time. Even a few of the stools at the bar are occupied, though nobody seems to mind more company.
The bartender walks over to TT. Her brown, sleek hair slightly covers a lean, tired face. Freckles are spread alluringly around her cheeks and and leaves an intriguing memory of her fortunate adventures. Glinting dark eyes, set gracefully within their sockets, look eagerly upon you as she waits for you to speak.
TT drooling a bit says "Food...good smells..."
She replies "Ah so the seafood chowder it will be? Would you like an ale with that? The food is 3sp and ale is 1sp."
"Alright hun, I'll get that for ya" the bar maiden says as she takes one gold piece and walks back behind the bar. She comes back a few moments later with a bowl of seafood chowder and a glass of ale. She hands you 6 sp in change.

The tavern only contains a few patrons, most are quietly enjoying their beverages and meals, except for one table. A man is frantically talking to another man about something. TT's interest it peaked so she listens in the best she can. She over hears "...it is worse this time and I don't think it is going away. That smog is coming from that ore refinement camp on the other side of the island. Look!" the man reaches into his bag and pulls out a piece of paper and unfolds it "This is a recent map from a surveyor. That half of the island is dead due to the pollution that place produces and if we do nothing it is going to destroy this half of the island too!"
The man talking sees TT approach and says "Hey, you seem to have a scimitar on. Would you be interested in going with me to stop the Dark Riders from causing all this smog? I am Ned by the way and this Lanton. If we don't do anything, this town is gonna turn into a wasteland just like the other side of the island."
"They are a group mercenaries from a nearby country. They came to rob the island of the precious ore in our mountain. They smelt it down into bars and ship it off about once a month. It should be about time for another shipment. Nasty people though, I tried to talk to them before and look what the did to me." Ned revels a large scar on his chest.
Ned smirks and says "This man right here." Ned pats Lanton on the back and continues "He may not look it but he used to be a Paladin." Lanston says "Now, I left that long ago and it is supposed to be a secret!"
The two nod and then they pay the barmaid and head on their way.
The band of three head south to the river to cross. TT noticed that the river, which used to run pristine and clean, is now polluted and has a weird brown color to it. They make use of the bridge to cross it and head to the other side of the island. The trees are dead and nothing seems to grow. The smog and the smell get worse by the step. In the distance, TT can see a large column of smoke that the two keep walking towards. Ned holds his hand out, turns around and says "Alright, this is where we need to be. The main smelting camp is right over that ridge. Should we try to go talk to them, or just eliminate them? I know what we would do." Ned nods at Lanton "But since you are the new comer, we don't want to make you do something you don't wanna do."

"Food...good smells..."
TT glances at turtle.
TT then attracts the attention of the bartender in hopes of a delicious meal.
The bartender walks over to TT. Her brown, sleek hair slightly covers a lean, tired face. Freckles are spread alluringly around her cheeks and and leaves an intriguing memory of her fortunate adventures. Glinting dark eyes, set gracefully within their sockets, look eagerly upon you as she waits for you to speak.

o.o
TT looks around.
D:
TT looks at turtle.
Waaaaaaaa ;_;
"Ma'am? Would you like the food and drink?" she asks with a puzzled look on her face.
With her head in her arms, looking at the floor, TT catches a glimpse of something shiny.
Turtle is clawing on 2 gold pieces it found on the floor.
The tears evaporating from her eyes, TT takes the coins and eagerly shows them to the bartender with great excitement.
"Alright hun, I'll get that for ya" the bar maiden says as she takes one gold piece and walks back behind the bar. She comes back a few moments later with a bowl of seafood chowder and a glass of ale. She hands you 6 sp in change.

*Gobble gobble*
TT eats in bliss.
TT gives turtle a shrimp.
Regaining her senses, she observes the room.

The tavern only contains a few patrons, most are quietly enjoying their beverages and meals, except for one table. A man is frantically talking to another man about something. TT's interest it peaked so she listens in the best she can. She over hears "...it is worse this time and I don't think it is going away. That half of the island is dead due to the pollution that place produces and if we do nothing it is going to destroy this half of the island too!"
Finishing her meal, TT slowly approaches the men.
"Look Turtle, these two seem to know about what has happened."
As TT approaches the men he spies the paper that the man is talking about. It is a map of the island.
Though unsure if she can trust the men, TT senses that their goals are aligned and agrees to accompany them.
"Dark Riders....are they the ones responsible for this?"
"How are you even alive?"
Ned smirks and says "This man right here." Ned pats Lanton on the back and continues "He may not look it but he used to be a Paladin." Lanston says "Now, I left that long ago and it is supposed to be a secret!"
Though she finds the man's willingness to give out secrets suspect, TT believes the duo can be trusted.
She looks to turtle for reassurance.
"Shall we be on our way?"
