Chatters walks around the battlefield following Sylas's lead, managing to cover most of his skeletal frame so that only his bony hands and feet are visiable, his face a showy chattering skull underneath.
As the fluttering head asks about the scepter, the boy will scream from under his robes and crossed arms as he tries to make himself into a tight ball. "Yes, The Scepter of Souls! Just take it! That is why you are here right?!? Bandits recently took the rest of it so just take what is left and leave!"
***Saida make me a persuasion check to calm the boy down***
Zinnripplevery carefully maintains his balance on Sylas' shoulder, doing his best to avoid being impaled. As the dread warrior walks about the room and reclaims his shield, Zinn studies the chaos of the room and listens intently to the interactions with the elvish boy.
"Hmm...Scepter of Souls...Scepter of Sorrows. Which is it then? I do love a good mystery,"muses Zinn aloud. "Bandits took the rest of it, eh?"
Zinn then watches Saida's efforts to calm the boy. "Ask the the little wretch what he means by 'the rest of it', will you, Saida?"
Odysseus spits the stick out away from bird lady and hears something interesting. Scepter of sorrows? Is that what this is? No wonder it tastes sorrowful.
(It is the scepter of souls, if I typed scepter of sorrows I messed up and am dumb lol! I fixed it I think)
As the Harpy begins speaking, the young child listens to her words and slowly stops sobbing. Lifting his head from his arms he says "My name is Pine" the small wood elf manages to squeak out. As the imp asks about the staff, Pine will move closer to the harpy and grab hold of her leg. "What you have there... that is the Scepter of Souls... but there is a brilliant blue gem in the shape of a teardrop that is supposed to sit in the top." The boy will say as he tries to hide under the wings of the harpy. "I heard that when the gem was removed from the scepter.. that most of the power within the scepter went with it..." Pine manages to say as he wipes the remaining tears from his eyes as they move from one nightmarish creature to the next. "The elders" he points to some dead elves in more ornate robes.. "They sent our finest warriors after the thieves a few days ago to recover the other half of the scepter... It is said to have the power to free souls from captivity.. and also steal them if wielded by someone with evil in their heart." The boy says holding on to Saida's even tighter.
Saida wrapped her arms around the boy gently. "Thank you so much for your help, Pine. It seems the power in this half of the scepter is what freed us, then," she bemused. She used the back of her hand to gently wipe the tears from his face, keeping her claws away as best she could. "Now then. Pine, I have a question for you. Do you have family outside this temple you can go to? I'll help you get there," she offered. Her earlier irritation and harshness was practically gone, replaced by a gentle tone as she spoke to the boy.

"My aunt... she... she left to go after the bandits" The boy says "Her name is Ivy... she is the only family I have left" he says looking out over the carnage around him.
"Well then, I'll do what I can to get you to your aunt." For a moment, she was going to stand up to speak to the others, but the poor boy did seem worried—so she stayed on the floor hugging him. "Well, that ******* ******* Draax probably wanted the staff to use for darkness," she said to the others. "I hope I don't have to explain why it would be bad that the man who hates us gains the power to steal souls?"

After seeing the Wretched creature make a bunch of funny sounds out of its huge maw, the young elf actually let's out a small laugh. "That one seems like he is nice like you are" Pine says to the harpy as he reaches towards Hungry to pet him. The smell of fear on the boy that was very strong and delicious begins to fade away
Hungry (through further examination, he is repelled by non fear) runs away, letting out a funny sound as a warning to not touch him. Friendly? No... maybe? No... not at all. Just hungry...
Sylas is standing exactly 50 feet away from the rest of them, Having picked up a series of rusty and worn javelins. Slung four of them over his back and has one in his hand. Staring at the child, the blue mist-like energy seeping out of the eyeholes on his helm. He whispers to the Imp on his shoulder.
"45-50 feet away, I can make it quick and painless from this distance. What do you think?" His memories freshly returned after a moment of Haze and confusion, He knows who and what he is. His kind hates the living, especially the weak. His gauntlet tightens around the Javelin as he waits the Imps response.

Hungry, hearing this, readies to jump in front of the child in case of a murder attempt. If he’s dead, he can’t eat him later.
