You get down about 40' Zarbof and the chasm levels out and opens up into a larger cavern. It's not so much a cave in terms of being hollowed out by the elements but a natural formation between massive slabs of rock. The area you are in as about 12' to the ceiling and roughly 40' across. It extends back further than you can see. You can see what looks like mostly decomposed gnoll remains scattered along the edges of the cavern.
Roger makes is down safely and joins you at the bottom.
Zarbof, once you get your 20' you can see the the end of the cavern it split by a huge slab if rock and boulders creating a passage on the right and on the left. The passage on the right is mush smaller than the one on the left. It is dank and smell of rot and moisture. You can hear some kind of shuffling sounds coming from the larger left passage.
Decomposed? Can we search them once everyone's reached the bottom?
Zarbof whispers to Mysti and Roger, "It looks like 2 passages here, a small one to the right and a larger one to the left. I wonder if we could send small, stealthy Wormsquirt to see if the smaller one leads to anything, maybe just a quick look 50ft in or so to check it out before we all check out the larger passage together? As long as he agrees to no more of his pranks, that is. "
ooc: you could search them anytime you'd like. and who's Grum? giving yourself nicknames? lol
Everyone coming down has to give me an athletics check if that wasn't totally apparent. It wasn't just the stocky dwarf who had to do it :) you have the rope there so unless you get under a 5 you make it down fine.

I don't know what you're talking about... lol. Sorry, wrong character! I just became a half-orc ranger for a moment. That must happen a lot on this site, thinking about it, it was only a matter of time!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wormsquirt, being the last one down not only has the footing gotten treacherously slick, but the rope has gotten slippery as will and you loose your footing as your hands slip on the rope. You try to control your slide/fall but come crashing down at the bottom with a loud thump doing 1 damage.
After Worsquirt lands with a thump, Zarbof being the deepest into the cavern hears the shuffling sound from the left opening change to clanking and shuffling sounds and they seem to be getting louder.

Zarbof's eyes narrow slightly as he sees the skeletons. He glances over his shoulder, "Skeletons!" he says, realising that the rest of the group can actually see them too.
Zarbof steps up to the first skeleton, lifting his battleaxe in a high, wide arc. He brings it down in the direction of the skeleton's clavicle, trying to carve the skeleton into two diagonally through its torso.
You do indeed almost carve it in half (13 to hit btw)
With a mighty swing Zarbof slashes down into the skeleton dealing it 11 DMG and very nearly dropping it in one blow. It looks like it's barely being held together by it's scraps of armor. (He will be S1)
“He could have just been trying to get away from us but who knows...”
Mysti keeping an eye out for anything hidden, suspicious.

There are more gnoll corpses and you estimate about 20 you've seen so far

"I think that got something's attention! Ready yourselves, we may have a fight on our hands." Zarbof winces in a low voice.
Zarbof moves up towards the opening on the left, just far enough that I can see down the passageway, to hopefully see what's making the noise.
Stealth (would be nice if I were quiet, but Wormsquirt's already attracted attention, so not a big deal): 4

RavenloftAnnihilationMysti readies her spells and warhammer, creeps up a little but still stays towards the middle of the group for now.
Zarbof you are fairly quiet for wearing chain and once you can see further into the passage you see a group of 5 skeletons making their way out.
