Sorry, should have mentioned their location. They are pretty much in the middle of the old camp where the highest concentration of gnolls were left. It would be unlikely to sneak past them as the cave entrance was just in that narrow section at the back (north) of the camp.
"Wormsquirt, you want to eat gnoll now? Is there anything you wouldn't eat? Maybe you could take one back to Tilda, and see if she'll put one in a pie for you?
We could do what we did last time, and let them fight it out for a bit? Or we could just run in and take them! I've got a new axe to try out. What do you all think?"
"If they are battling then let them go before we go in if not we might as well head in and clear the way..."Mysti says preparing her warhammer and spells..."Who knows how long they will be there...." she pauses, "we could also try to scare them off if anyone has a way.."
I'm not going to bother with nature checks. Someone in the party would know that they probably won't leave the area on their own while there's food available. You would know that it's likely you could scare them off if you all got close to look big and made a bunch of noise. You'd also know that you could take them fairly easily.
"Well if you really want to try out your axe you can rush in, if we want to scare them off I could try getting close but outta sight and use a sacred flame, the fire might scare them off, if not they will charge then anyhow..." Mysti comments
OOC: I'm not actually trying to push the group to rush in - I'm happy to go with the majority. Zarbof just wants to kill stuff though. Maybe he shouldn't though - they're just bears, after all. Minding their own business. Poor innocent bears. But, you know, XP :P
OOC: LOL... new axe making your hands itch :) Btw. Not trying to just throw random mobs at you but you did leave a bunch of meat out overnight in the woods :)
Belialuin comes closer to the center of the group and whispers to everyone. "Hey, Guys wanna pull a big prank on this teddy's ?" He gives a wink to wormsquirt.
"We can disguise one of the group members as a blood-soaked killer nightmare of sorts and he can approach the bears in this form and I will cast Minor Illusion that produces a Lion Roar so that it seems as if he's a vicious demi-human. This sight and sound is bound to scare the bears and we can have a good laugh on the way. So what do you think? " Despite all of his manners and nobleesque behavior it was easy to see that Belialuin had a special place for pranks and good laughs in his heart.
"That does sound like fun. One possible problem though - does anyone have a blood-soaked killer nightmare costume? I like the idea, but I think the closest thing we have to that is Wormsquirt's grovelling. That worked on the gnolls, but I'm not sure bears have the intelligence to realise he's grovelling! And I'm not sure I like the idea of Wormsquirt strolling up to two bears by himself, because if it doesn't work, he'll get mauled. And from his most recent revelation, I suspect Wormsquirt would rather eat a bear than be eaten by bears.
The roar might work, but it'd have to be more like a dragon than a lion - the bears are probably as big as a lion themselves, but I bet they'd run from a dragon."
As Belialuin tells everyone his idea Wormsquirt's eyes open as wide as saucers. By the time Belialuin finishes Wormsquirt is practically vibrating with excitement. Unexpectedly Wormsquirt raises his arm high in the air and starts bouncing up and down. "Pick me, pick me, pick me!"
"I don't even think anyone has to go out there in the open, just use your spell to make a dragon roar from somewhere around them and it should scare them off..." Mysti says, "If not then charge right in Zarbof and we will be right behind..."
Thorum is chuckling at the exchange between Wormsquirt and the others. "In this particular situation, I can only offer arrows or steel so I defer to the group for a show of deception."
Beliauin goes closer to the center of the group "Guys we can just be close by in the woods and if things go south you can get to test you axeZarbof. If not we'll just have some good laughs out of the story. I am all for wormsquirt trying that. I am even willing to sacrifice some blood for the theatrics. Mysti can use the Sacred Flames near Wormsquirt while the Dragon shout goes to seem as he is breathing fire. On the off chance that we fail I can use Mold Earth to make the land between Wormsquirt and teddys almost impassable and shield Wormsquirt myself. Is everyone up for the plan ?"
"So Wormsquirt is going to pretend to be a huge dragon, there'll be a show of flames and a bellowing roar, and we'll see what they do?" Zarbof laughs. "I'm up for the plan. A wiser tactician that I might suggest it's possibly a waste of some spells, and there's a chance the dragon roar might alert more than just the bears, but it sounds like fun! Let's do it. Wormsquirt, you magnificent dragon, get out there!"
Zarbof takes a position where he can spring from to charge the bears if they don't flee.
Ha! So it sounds like you guys have a plan. You're pretty much going to try to scare the crap out of the bears with a dragons roar and Wormsquirt running out as if on fire? Am I getting that right?
I think Wormsquirt and the fire combination is supposed to be Wormsquirt actually pretending to be a dragon. (A little creative licence applied regarding the size of a dragon, obviously)
"Can we circle around them or are they right by the entrance we need to go through?" Mysti asks.
