"So, at my last count, Roger, Mysti and Thorum were up for eradicating the scourge that is the Gnolls, and I now find myself convinced in favour of that too. Belialuin is yet to offer his preference I believe, and Wormsquirt seems to have selective hearing where Gnolls are concerned! I'm assuming that if he had any strong reason not to go back there, he'd have let us know by now."
OK, So while you are all gathered for breakfast discussing what you should do the majority of you wish to track the gnolls.
Parth nods with approval "I think that should be a good test of your newfound skills. A tough test, but the best tests are. As I said last night if it is too tough there is no shame in escaping with your life. I have some larger matters that I'm hoping you'll be able to help me with but you must first grow strong! Dead adventurers serve no ones purpose!"
Mysti, hearing the party has decided on hunting the gnolls gulps down her breakfast and says, "Eat up everyone and prepare your gear we have more gnolls to eradicate!!!!"
Zarbof , hearing Mysti's urgency to eat up and get going, goes back for a second helping of breakfast. "Don't look at me like that - I'll have finished my second helping before others have finished their first. And you wouldn't want me slumping in the heat of battle out of hunger, now, would you?"
In his childhood, it had been commented that Zarbof didn't so much eat his food as inhale it, such was the speed at which he ate. But, it seemed, he'd more than met his match. "Wormsquirt, is that your third? I concede defeat" he says, somewhat impressed.
With that, Zarbof quickly finishes off his second helping, and moves to an unused table in the corner, pulls out his axe, and takes a few minutes to hone its edge on a leather strop that he keeps permanently hanging from his waist.
"You front liners maybe take those potions, I'm sure if its an emergency you will be the ones to need them..." Mysti says, "that will also me I've exhausted my spells or I'm down, and that's not going to happen around a bunch of gnolls."
OOC: I have my Second Wind ability that as a bonus action allows me to gain 1d10+2 HP once per short rest. And I'm at 26HP due to a great die roll when levelling up, so if anyone else is likely to need it more than me, feel free to take it. And worst case scenario, if I go unconscious, could someone use it on me? (Not entirely sure of the rules about that, or passing it between us mid-combat?)

The way I have seen it played is that if you are able to reach the downed player, you can give the healing potion to a downed player but it will cost you an action. This is totally up to the DM though.
“If no one minds,” Roger says, slowly and diliberately eating his breakfast, “I would like to have one of the potions on myself, because, not to sound greedy and selfish, I feel I may end up being in need of it.”
Wormsquirt looks to Zarbof and holds up three fingers. Licking his plate clean with his forked tongue and heading back to the kitchen, he raises another digit to make it four. A moment later Wormsquirt emerges with another plate of food. His tail swishing from side to side in a manner that you could only call happy.
"The gnolls are to the south." Wormsquirt says before taking another mouthful of food. "I can get us to their general location unless they're on the move again."
"Before we depart, what are we doing with the gold we found on the first gnolls? Are we each taking a share, or should we elect a party treasurer and call it party funds?"

If you don't already have it you have provisions for 10 days before leaving.

What would be the flow of action if I were to toss it to someone in battle and they use it?
Ghosts of Saltmarsh - DM
Dex check to catch it and an action to drink it

OOC: Plus my action to throw it. I can hold one and reserve it for if someone goes down, that way I will only use my action in this process.
