OOC: I took the average Health increase and now stand at 16. I also learned Chaos Bolt and Mold Earth, so I can make the battles more interesting. I also have 2 sorcerers points that I can use to have bonus actions as I understood.
Belialuin was out of it the whole time. As if an imminent change he was feeling his spirit was enriched with some new energy and he felt his magical powers increase. He was glancing at his hand where small sparks of chaotic energy were dancing around. He grinned understanding what that means. During the rest, he managed to read the thick book that Parth offered and knew exactly what his new powers were. He also learned that there exists some magic able to possess people and suppress their will. After Eating his fair share of food he glanced at everybody at started speaking with a loud voice.
"It seems I'm no match for our heavy eaters today. haha. Well, Gentlemen, It seems that gnolls brought great troubles onto themselves. They shall prove a worth bunch to test out our new powers. Parth I also might have an idea or 2 regarding the incident that we should investigate further, but let's leave that for later. I think it would be great If I took at least one of the positions. Considering my deception and long ranged attack I should be able to facilitate it to the injured per need in a swift way."
Parth seems pleased with everyone's decisions and stands from the table "It is a good day to go a hunting! I'm sure you will all do well!
Tilda coming out of the kitchen places a hand on Wormsquints shoulder. "Be safe my little friend. I've never had anyone enjoy my cooking as much as you. I'll prepare something special for you when you return" Blushing slightly she shuffles back off to the kitchen.
Parth raises his eyebrows at the interaction but says nothing.
Unless anyone has anything else to take care of here you all depart and start heading generally south.
Mysti claps excitedly...."Finally more gnoll bashing...Tyr is going to be so happy!!!" and with that said she dances around the gathered party, whispers a few words to Tyr and calls his favor down on the party, "Tyr please guide us, keep us safe and allow our strikes to aim true."
To you their trail nearly leaps off the ground almost as if it's surround by a faint glow. You have absolutely no trouble following it quickly while keeping a keen ear out for any sounds of danger. As you're walking you notice that there are wild carrots and 2 types of edible mushrooms growing in the area.
Thorum takes a moment to point out the carrots and mushrooms to the group "If anyone desires, these mushrooms are edible." Pulling a carrot up he says "These are carrots that we can eat as well." He cleans the dirt from the carrot with a small amount of water from his waterskin and hands it to Wormsquirt.
If no one expresses a desire to stop, he will continue tracking the Gnolls.
You continue tracking for a few uneventful hours. The terrain changes somewhat. While you are still in forest you start to see large boulders here and there, some very large. You soon start to notice other gnoll tracks showing up here and there with more frequency. You are closing in on the camp.
As you come around one large boulder you can see an area far ahead through the trees that has many large boulders scattered over a large area, like a small outcropping. You immediately hear a gnoll huffing around somewhere ahead and off to your right.
Thorum holds up his hand to halt the group, he silently points to the direction the sound came from. I will attempt to quietly peak around the right side of the boulder to see if I can locate the Gnoll.
Carefully looking around the boulder you can see about 1000 feet away a gnoll looking bored leaning against a boulder with his spear propped up next to him. He's just kicking the dirt around on the ground with his foot.
Thorum ducks behind the boulder and whispers to the group "There is a Gnoll ahead of us who does not seem to be paying attention. He is currently too far away for an attack, how do we wish to handle this threat?"
Can I see anything that would like a cave entrance near where this Gnoll is stationed?
No, you do not, but with you're tracking skills you can clearly see an area of heavy traffic in one particular spot that indicates a main entrance to the bouldered area. From where you are you can also see there is a less used trail coming in from the side facing you.
Mysti turns to the group... "if we circle around there is a much less used path across from where we are, we might be able to take them by surprise from that side. We could also send 2/3 around and rest stay and we come from both sides, or just 1 side and see what happens and the 2nd side can wait as a trap if more come out."
"My chainmail is quite noisy [OOC: disadvantage on stealth checks], so I might ruin any plan that involves us all sneaking up. But I'm happy to hold back while you sneakily flush them out? Or like Mysti says, the more stealthy members of our party could all get into stealthy positions, then I (and anyone else who would like to join me) can get their attention and lead them out of their den towards you and we spring an ambush on them?
Or, if there's only the one of them just now, our sneaky ones can try to take it out and then we go get a closer look? And the rest of us can be on standby to charge in if things go wrong? Someone should at least scout around to see what we can see from that other side?"
"That's probably not the only sentry.", says Wormsquirt, looking around. "We should take that one out quickly and quietly, then see if there are others that could raise an alarm."

I would like to see if I can track the Gnolls path.
My favored enemy trait allows advantage of survival checks for humanoids and they may fit into this category.

Thorum, that would fit but I think your explorer skills are more beneficial for this purpose as you are traveling through forest.
So give me a perception check with your modifier doubled.

ooc: I was unsure of what type of terrain we would be traveling through, was hoping for forest though!
Thorum goes outside the walls of Path's training site and begins to look for the footprints of the Gnolls, in order to track them back to their lair.

"Over here! I have discovered their trail!"
