With the last attacks on his companions, seeing them fall to the ground one by one, bandit #4 who had been struggling to find his keys and open the door to get help, sees from the corner of his eyes Jirak coming up at him, swinging his hammer in his direction. The bandit tries to dodge it but isn't fast enough. The hammer makes contact with the skull of the bandit, slamming it into the door. The impact causing the skull to cave in from the front, and get completely obliterated from the back where the hammer made contact. A horrible cracking sound, followed by a splash, and the thud of the bandit sliding to the ground lifeless. The inside of his skull splattered all over the door.
All the bandits are dead now. Remember that in the distance and above you, you hear footsteps and rummaging from other bandits.

You find 2 regular healing potions on the Crossbow bandits, including their crossbows and some bolts (4). You can collect the two scimitars from the other 2 bandits if you wish. You also find 50 gold pieces total, 65 silver and 72 copper. One of the bandits holds a flask filled with a thick liqor that smells an awful lot like whiskey of some sort and of course the keys to the door, the only way out.

'Here Jarik," Jade hands him a healing potion, "this should come in handy for you." The other she puts away in case of emergency later.
"This guy has some coins on his also, everyone take their share...10 gp, 13 sp, and 14cp, there are some scimitars, a crossbow, and a flask with maybe whiskey in it also on these guys if anyone wants."
Carnic gratefully accepts the gold, but is eying the door, "I say we ambush the ones coming down. We can narrow them in at the door, forcing them to fight one at a time."

Jirak tilts his head as though weighing the options. “Could work. Sort of risky though. They could just decide to wait for reinforcements. With heavy armor. Or worse, smoke us out with fire.”
Vena pockets her share of the gold with a nod of thanks, listening as the others ponder strategies and plucking up the crossbow. "If we find somewhere more open I can be of more help. I can't shoot in such close quarters"

You see 1 single guard. He seems different then the others you've fought though. He has heavy armour and a scimitar that seems decorated at the hilt with a drawing of a serpent. The scimitar is loosly in his hand and he is smiling. Light flickers at the end of the hallway and beyond the Bandit you see 4 other bandits with their crossbows raised at the door. "Trying to fight your way out is foolish. Let's just have a little chat instead. Maybe we can help each other." the bandit calls out and motions for his back up to lower their weapons. Questions are wandering in your mind, why were the 6 of you captured and locked up? At that moment you're also wondering where the kid is who was captured with you, looking past the Bandit leader, you see the unconsious body of the boy at their feet. He seems to still be alive but one of the bandits is aiming his crossbow at Dart's motionless body. "Or the boy dies. We'd prefer not to shed any more blood. It will not please our master. But we will do what we have to."
Looking at everyone, Carnic will sigh, "If no one else desires to, I suppose I could." He sheathes his blade, positioning it behind his back, just in case. He'll then make his way up the stairs and give a nod to Jirak. He opens the door half way and goes to move around it standing there with raised hands and a wry smile, "Hellos friends. I don't suppose you'd be willing to negotiate?"
The Bandit captain takes one step forward, his scimitar still loosely in his hand at his side "Negotiate? What could you possibly offer us that would ensure the boy's life isn't forfitted?" His voice is deep and raspy, as if he's been smoking a little too many cigarettes, his teeth starting to blackening and some are missing. This man has seen some battles and walked away from them with his enemies either worse off or dead. His hands are callused and scared. "You either give yourselves up and come with us to Aran, or the kid dies." he continued pointing at the still motionless body of Dart, a crossbow bolt pushing into the boy's back by one of the other bandits to give the words of their boss extra weight."Aran is paying a large sum to have you delivered to him alive, he never said anything about unharmed and having all your limbs though." The threats kept coming and even though the man was grinning his ugly teeth bare, the bandits behind him seemed uncomftarble with the mention of Aran and having to go to him with captives who already killed 5 of their companions...
The hallway where the bandits are waiting is a bit wider then the one you came from, several doors are between you and the captain. 2 on the right and 2 on the left. You have no idea where they lead or what they hold or if they are locked. Behind the bandits there's another door, slightly ajar. You can see a staircase leading up but nothing else catches your eyes.

Standing in the way of the Sibyl and any possible crossbow bolt that'd come flying towards her or any of the others, Carnic starts talking in a very, cheery manner, "Well for starters, I think you made 3 very big mistakes." He holds out 1 finger, "Firstly, I believe you overestimate yourselves in thinking that you could continue to contain us, after we have already escaped and killed a number of your men." Another finger, "Secondly, you overestimate me, if you think I'd give my own life and the lives of 7 other people, for a single person." A third finger, "And lastly, you severely underestimate us, if you think we'd let you live after killing that boy."
As he speaks that phrase, he'll shift from his cheery demeanor into a slightly more serious and cold tone, his eyes staring chillingly at the leader.

“Thanks,” Jirak says over tusks, a little surprised. He then tucks it into his belt and moves to guard the door while the others gather up.
”We should hurry if we want to have a better chance of getting away.”
