Tauriel, in your scouting the camp you find it looks like there was something/someone else that was keeping an eye on you guys. Maybe it's just an animal bedding down or it could be spot someone was watching from. You're not positive either way. Whatever it was you don't see any distinct tracks leading away from the area.
After traveling for most of the day the landscape starts to change. The hills become more like shifted slabs of earth and the evidence of the earthquake are becoming more apparent. Finally heading over a rise you can see down into a cavern with a large lake below. It's banks are jagged and upturned slabs of stone that earth has reclaimed and started growing over. The lake itself is kind of eerie. You would expect a lake this size to have docks and boat traffic but it's oddly empty and quiet. On the far side and towards the north you can see a city.
As a shiver runs down his spine, Tordal grasps his holy symbol, distractedly rubbing his thumb back and forth across it. "The Light has not touched this place in a long time. Let's proceed with caution, something about this gives me a bad feeling."
Ooc - could I do a perception check to see if anything stands out?
No problem. Tordal. You notice a couple things. The first is that there isn't really any kind of trail around the lake that you can make out. You can also see that on this side of the lake, about 1/4 the way around to the north are discrepancies in the landscape. There seems to be an area where less foliage is growing and the ground in that area looks trampled down and disturbed.
(no worries. Are you guys OK with the number of players? I could recruit more or keep it how it is? Either is fine with me.)
You all start making your way around the lake. It's tough going. The land is all chopped up from the earthquake so it takes you a while to make your way. As you get closer you can see that there is what looks like some kind of trail, or at least a trampled down area going from the lake to the area you're headed to. It's tough to get a good view but it looks like there may be a some kind of cave entrance .
Sinjin: You do indeed remember what these are twig blight
Vail: You manage to stave off the effects of withdrawal again and the shaking calms down.
Tauriel: Your weapons are polished and you make way around to check the area. Lets get an investigation check please.

"Well guys, are we all ready to continue? It looks like there may have been more out here last night but it seems long gone," says the Minotaur.
If no one has anything else you guys pack up camp and continue eastward towards Okcho.

ooc- Had a ski trip yesterday. I'm very beat up and I just wanna lie down :P
Tordal takes a minute to point out what he sees to the rest of the group, "do you guys think we should investigate or steer clear?"
"I think we should go see what it is."
“We should probably stick together this time. Last time we split.... well I used to be an adventurer and then I took and arrow to the knee.”
Tiwggy makes some stick tree noises
”my friend here clearly agrees.”
ooc: back in action everyone! Sorry :-)

(I wouldn't be opposed to 1-2 more but what we have now works as well)
(I would rather have 3 active posters than 5 that we're waiting on. We can receipt more though if you think we can find another active)
(I opened it up to a couple new players. We'll see what happens)
