”Tauriel you fool, why would you try and sneak with those hooves?”
Vail grasps the handle of his sword at his side and steps up to wwhere Tauriel is struggling with the weeds.
”I have noqualms about spilling more of your tiefling blood today, however I’m hung over and irritable and have a headache. I want to hear you out, I overheard you talking about your brethren who are the ones who tried to kill us earlier.”
Saada notes the arrival of the other figure."So...shot in the dark. You guys wouldn't happen to anything about these sinkholes popping up everywhere? The ones turning our lands into cheese? Or is this some random bandit attack?"
“Bandit attack. We were looking into some stolen shipments for a friend of ours and the conversion was.... cut short. Sinkholes? I don’t know anything about any sink holes.
Theres more of us than two, were a group of four. Someone get our little tiefling friend. Let’s see if you all know eachother...”
"Not really helping your imagine of not being bandits if you walk around with with captive tiefling, then attacking other tieflings, in tiefling territory. Just saying."
"He doesn't look smart enough to lie. Probably only is 4 of them. Don't know why he'd give up that information...not bandits, mercenaries?" Estes looks to Shaada "missing shipments could be a good justification for sending in an attack force, their 'employer' may be behind this."
Estes looks back to the entrance. "Lose a few shipments, send in free Lancers and let a few get killed, use that to justify sending in an army. Under the guise of protecting shipments they set up positions to attack the other side. All the while destroying our land"
"Which leads to relations turning sour, trade slowing to a crawl, the populace becoming angry, extremists become popular, conflicts starts...Next thing you Okcho is ground zero for a battle royale between human, tieflings, and elves. Have to admit, it's a solid theory."
Saada glances at the entrance. "Doesn't solve this situation, though. We might have to go spelunking."
You came into Blobbins just before the group set out so you may not remember but the sinkholes on the western trade road were talked about. Unless you're just RPing that in which case forget what I said.
Just for the purpose of gameplay at this point I'm saying that you are all in a stand off and holding your actions, so if something does happen the initiatives will still apply)
Sinjin, being the oldest (and shortest) in the party by far has a more difficult time making his way over the rocks and finally catches up to where Vail is and says "You young folks are always so hasty. Vail, you say there's only 2 in there? Sounds like we have the upper hand should we need it. Has anyone asked them why they're in the cave yet? Sounds to me like if they're talking about problems in Okcho they may have information that could help us?"
"I do think seeing if this tiefling we have here is friend of theirs sounds like a good idea though. Can someone bring him up here? I don't think I could manage"
“Well him and his friends tried to kill us. He didn’t exactly feel like talking to any of us at the time and I’d be hard pressed to release someone into the Wild after attempted murder.
You can speak to him yourself if you’d like or just take him back with you, I’m tired of dragging him around and I’ve been itching to end him for the last day.
one second.”
Vail walks out of the cave to where the Tiefling was left, untied him from the stick and leaves his hands tied.
”Get in the cave. Someone wants to talk to you. If you prove useless we might let you live.”
Vail, you manage to get the tiefling on his feet after several minutes and he stumbles down to an area where he can see who's in the cave but can't get too close because of the entangled area. Seeing other teifling he falls to his knees, his voice dry and cracked he barely manages to whisper "Help me" to Estes and Saada before crumpling to his side.
Ooc: do we still have the tiefling on a stick?

More than one he thought. Estes looked at the creature he had attempted to ensnare as its(her? hard to tell from here) ally came to its side.
Looking over to Saada "she is the only one with me. I don't know who you killed or why"
Estes fiddles with the rock in his left hand as his right points at the cave entrance.
( ooc Tauriel's turn technically before I actually act)
Initiative order is Sinjin (who'll I'll probably have to NPC again)Tauriel, Estes, Saada, Vail, Tordal
(Yes you have the trussed tiefling, though he's looking pretty rough since no one gave him food or water since he's been captured)

(I'm fine with you guys talking while we wait a little for Sinjin and Tauriels check)

"Odd band if it is"

"Like I said, might have to go spelunking." Saada nods further into the cave. "But let's see if we can still get out of this without violence first."

"Finally! A voice of reason! Look if all just calm down, I can start the fire back up and we all talk like the civilized people that we are."
"I'd like to know why they have a Tiefling prisoner before we get too chummy but I'd also prefer we not have to kill them all"
"Agreed."

Estes watches as a Tiefling prisoner is brought to the cave entrance. "Skamos...I am Estes Mireck. Doubt you know me, but I've heard of you."
"Vail was it. He may share our blood but he is not truly one of us. I'm inclined to believe he and his ilk would have attacked you. "
Estes looks to the minotaur and releases his concentration spell.
"What did you find on the ones who attacked you and why did you come to this place?"
As he talks Estes will tie up the collapsed prisoner before casting cure wounds 4
"I have questions before he can be allowed to die"
