Tauriel. You're not able to reach the spider on you're turn. The room is choked with webs. (Think of these guys as tunnel spiders and you all came in right by their hidey hole.)

Estes launches the rocks from his hands at the spider but they get snagged in the webs falling short and missing.

(So I want to give everyone a heads up about creatures and battles from now on. Personally I've felt the CR rating in 5e is pretty lackluster and doesn't make for very interesting battles. In all my campaigns I've started using my own system to match creatures for encounters that I think makes battles more dynamic. The reason I'm mentioning this now is that the spider webs have their own stats and I'm going to use them. In this room full of webs they are not going to just burn away and you guys can get through in one shot. Sinjins fire in the beginning should tip you off to their HP and so will Tordals now)

The fire cause 8 dmgto the web and burns a 8' trail through the webbing from E4 to the spider at F9 and crashes into the spider causing 4 dmg
The spider that just took damage spits a glob of web at Vail. If hits Hit: The target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 12 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed

he manages to break his arms free and rip the rest of it from his armor. He runs down the hall and left through the burned path of the webs to the spider with two hand axes in it and makes a stab to its eye.
I updated the map. The yellow is burned away webs so there is just room to get to the spider. Where there's no yellow the room is still choked with webs.
Vail, you make your way to the spider but can't get a clear path for your axe and miss it.
