Besides the fact that the chain mail is remarkably well preserved, it does not seem to display any magical capabilities. The axe, on the other hand, glows with a faint red aura.
With a red face, Natasha makes her way inside the wave behind Jill and Grum and was immediately wanting to upchuck the food she had earlier. Using the sleeve of Oni’s cloak to cover her nose and mouth at an attempt to block the stench, she approaches the dwarves body hesitantly.
(would I need to roll investigation?)

Grum leaves Jill and Natasha to look over the Dwarf's corpse, and attempts to partially skin the Dire Wolf (OOC: Trying to get as large a continuous piece of Dire Wolf Pelt as possible - if at all possible?)
Oni will watch Grum start to skin the wolf and walks over, ”need any help?” Oni kneels down and tries to help Grum best he can with his dagger or Mage Hand if needed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Natasha squints at the runes, muttering the translation to make sure it made some sense, then read it aloud to the others. She takes a second for the words to sink in before reaching for the hammers handle to see if she could possibly pick it up.
Strength check (if needed): 14

Natasha looks over the axe with a raised eyebrow then shrugs. “Sure, I guess,” She says, handing the axe to Jill. Once the axe leaves her grip she says: “If there is nothing else then I’m gonna get out of the rancid place. Hope the smell doesn’t stick to me...” And with that, she turns and exits the cave to join the rest of the team.

Grum successfully skins the dire wolf, and is rewarded with a foul-smelling wolf pelt.
Grum is delighted with his work, having often used the foul smell of a creature he's recently killed as either bait or deterrent against other creatures. He imagines the scent of a dire wolf would be a powerful deterrent. Now he just needs to decide whether it's more useful for that purpose, or whether to attempt to clean it up to get rid of some of the smell, to be used for more domestic purposes, like warmth, or protecting modesty (which he's recently learned is pretty important, apparently). He would never normally have been bothered to clean it up, but now he's not travelling alone, and the others may take issue with the stench.
Jill exits as well. "I believe that we have found all there is to find here. Should we let the villagers know that we killed Grimjaw? And maybe try and find a river or something so that we can clean ourselves of this filth."

”Is the meat salvageable? Should we drag the carcass to the village so they have more food? I agree with Jill though, we should probably find somewhere to clean up.”
Looking to Natasha as she leaves the cave, ”what did you find in there?”
Misha stands guard outside the cave. Jill and Grum are more than capable to handle this task.
The den is clear of threats.

Jill is definitely interested in the axe that is giving off the aura, but she'll allow Natasha to look at it before she does anything.

The dwarven runes on the hammer read: You hold Ruin, forged in the fires of the Abyss. Soul to fuse, blood to ignite, mind to lose, heart to blight.
Grum, you can make a Survival check.

"Help would be very welcome."
Does that give me advantage on the survival check? I'll roll with it, and if not just take the first die roll. 17

RavenloftAnnihilationIs there any way for us to find out what magical properties the axe might have? Could we study it during a short rest?

If Natasha can't lift it, Jill will assist her in getting it out of this cave, so that they can study it in somewhere that doesn't smell as bad.
