Turning to Rend one says "I feel like I have a crow pecking on my brain, but it was worth it!" The other one scoffs shaking his head at his friend "Well my farm is off this road a ways. We'll both be headed there tonight. Me to stay and Jordo here just to bunk the night before he heads back to his own place."
"Do you all have a place to stay tonight? There's not much else on the North Road until you hit Riverdale 'bout 3 days ride up. We would reach my farm a little late but I got room in the barn if that wouldn't offend you all?"
J'Anna feeling pretty good that these men can be trusted says "We appreciate the offer, and I think if we are ready to stop at that point, we will probably take you up on the offer."
Rend would look to the others and then shrug "I am fine with it but I don't speak for everyone" the kobold would say with a smile. His red glowing eyes fixed on the two men.. never blinking... just looking... (It is part of his Colosseum costume.. pretty much a rend trademark really)
Both men looked totally pumped "That would be great! It's just me and the wife, well and Jordo here, but I'm sure she'll have a big pot of something on the fire. She always does. We just killed one of our hogs too so get some fresh bacon for breakfast! Oh she never would have believed me that we drank together last night! Ha! She's gonna faint when y'all walk in!" He checks his excitement "I mean, ya know, if ya'll except"
"I have no care but it would be wise to keep a close watch on the time we have. Our mission may not allow for a delay as the cartographer may not be willing to wait long." Halizthan said, watching the rest of them closely. "If the boy were a druid his powers would still need to he learned. Perhaps he was born with it like myself."
Jordo pipes up "It's not that far off the main road. I don't think it would slow you down too much. Otherwise you'd have to camp near the road and that could be dangerous. We're mostly good folk around here but there's some always looking for trouble"
"Uhm, is a cart o gaffer like someone who makes carts? Because I could make you a cart! I once built a whole wagon, with a cover and everything!"
As the day wears on and turns into night the traffic on the road becomes less and less until the only folks you can see on the road is your party and tag along friends. You made any necessary stops to feed and water mounts and yourselves and generally had a pleasant ride with light banter from your friends.
Eventually you get to a trail heading east off the road. "Well this is the way to my farm. I hope you'll all stay"
"Having a roof over our heads during the night is preferable to camping out in yet unknown lands." Halizthan says as lazily rides his horse, doing his best to have a regal baring all the same.
"Oh sure, we got elks come through pretty regular and there's spots not too far we get bears" He nudges his companion "At least SOME of us get bears, hahahaa, and that right Bigs? Bigs here missed THE EASIEST shot anyone could ever ask for on a huge bear couple years back! that's why we call him Bigs" He guffaws at his own humor.
"That sounds like some fun target practice. I'm getting rather tired of this long road however. Maybe point me in the direction of those spots when we get to your barn. I'll need a good stretch after all this riding."
Halizthan listens to the conversation but for the most part seems to be occupied the riding. He still seems to mostly be focusing on the others as his eye occasionally moves over them. "If you go after bears do be sure to avoid any injury. It would not do for us to receive an injury so soon."
"Great! I can't wait to see the look on my wife's face. Oh man, this is gonna be great!" He starts heading down the trail, his horse starting to naturally pickup pace knowing it's getting closer to home.
After about 20 minutes you start to see lights in the distance glowing from a few windows. As you get closer you can see the house is a simple single story ranch with a wide front porch. There's an oil lamp burning beside the door on the porch and you can make out a barn not far off to the side. You can see some fenced in areas and hear a few loud pig grunts every now and again and a few whinnies.
Jordo says to Bigs as you're getting closer "Where's Shell? I don't see her on the porch. She's always standing there waiting for you with her foot tapping after the games! hahaha!"
Bigs says "I dont know? Maybe she fell asleep by the fire and our friends can sneak up and scare her to death! Hahahaha, then I could court our milkmaid!"
Felicity trots up to where the stable boy is and gives him a heavy slap on the back. "If the others are up for it, we might go hunting later. It'd be some good practice for you as not all the things you could fight out there look like humans. Just take care not to die though!" she adds with a smile.
Felicity casts Death Ward on him with that slap on his back.
"It seems I shall have to help you all with this hunting. Tell me is casting magic an effective way to hunt creatures on the sureface? In the Underdark hunting was more of trying to kill some monstrous creature before it killed and ate you." Halizthan asks as he raises his the brow over his visisble eye.
Felicity shrugs. "I mean as long as you don't brutally mutilate the game you should be fine. Hunting's a means of survival as well as sport for most people. Just remember, intact deer meat and hide will sell for a much higher price and has more uses than a charred husk."

J’Anna turns to the group, “How is everyone feeling? Push on or stop for the night?”

"Jordo how is the hunting out here? Any big game?" Mysti sighs, "I've been out of the arena for too long my skills are itching for some practice."

"Agreed Felicity, a hunt isn't a bad idea if we are stopping for the day anyhow." J"anna says with a big grin.

(ooc- what's a milkmaid?)
