Ayra shares a meal with Wraeven before returning to Sprauchle's hut. She wonders aloud to him about the heavy military presence in the establishment.
When they are done eating, Ayra will head back outside to return to the cleric with his food. On the way, she stops at the cart to visit Mobya and the younglings. Happy to see the young ones awake, she plays with them for a little, and then points out the building to Mobya that Crackle had identified as the stables. 'The carts will be secure in the stables" she tells her friend "You and the babies should come inside for the night. I am certain one of the gentlemen in our party would be pleased to ensure the carts are safely stored."
Ayra, as you head out of the room with the cleric's food, you look back and notice that, while there are travelers without the military robes, your group seems to have a layer of empty tables around them, creating an invisible bubble of sorts.
As you approach Mobya, however, you see a stranger approaching from the other side of the blanket, an elf, but not the kind you're used to seeing in the Upper Spires, and he looks like he has been traveling much.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
[greetings all :)]
I have arrived in to town to restock some of my supplies for my next personal quest. I plan to see if there is anything that I can do to make some coin along the way, after leaving the shop and stocking up on a few things that I will need. I see the female dwarf and she notices me, I am dressed in travelers clothing worn under some worn leather armor, 2 swords (one strapped to each hip), a long bow and quiver at my back along with my backpack with odds and ends strapped to it and poking out of the pockets. I am standard height for an elf with shoulder length silver hair. As the shimmer and glow happens to each of the children it attracts my attention and I move over slowly and see the symbol that has been marked on to them. I believe it is the same symbol as an old acquaintance of mine used to wear but I can not be certain. This may be the opportunity I have been looking for to make some coin, I approach the dwarf and the 3 younglings and introduce myself, Good evening, as she looks at me she notices my deep blue eyes and lack of irises I am Sorvas and I noticed these younglings have just had an interesting marking that just appeared on them accompanied by a faint glow. Did you see this happen as well?
If yes, Would you mind if I looked at the marking to see if I have any information about it?
Ayra is alarmed to see a strange elf approaching Mobya and the babies.
"Good evening" she calls out, not so much in friendly greeting as to alert him of her arrival. She laying her hand on her dagger, she casts the message cantrip and whispers to Wraeven: "Please join me outside urgently. There is a stranger asking questions about the younglings."
Seeing the worried look on her face he takes a step back to be non-threatening and says I don't mean to startle you, I am just a bit direct. He also shows his hands to show you he means ho harm. They are empty of course. I don't often deal with people as I live of the land and spend my days normally in search of knowledge and coin. I saw the younglings being marked as I walked by and as it is very uncommon I wanted to take a look for myself to see what I can learn. (ooc I'll be back in 15 hours more than likely)
Agozur will give Wraeven the rundown of Lil's family farm but nothing before that "I stumbled onto their farm and they put me to work until I was healed up, that's when Lil and I became such good friends. Also how we both ended up here."
Agozur, your 9 didn't avail you much, but you do notice the Merchant getting quieter. As you watch another series of floating globes rise in a full spectrum of color a few tables away.
Mobya is glad that Ayra is there while the stranger approaches. He claims to be peaceful but Mobya has learned that caution is always wise when dealing with a stranger.
“Yes, we too have noticed the mark and its shimmering on their feet, but I myself do not recognize it or have seen it before. Do you know what it means or represents?”
"We do not know him. He is inquiring about the markings on the younglings." Then whispering urgently to Wraeven: "How are we to be certain he has not been sent by the rival of your Raven Queen?"
[Sorvas, I'm afraid you're not getting a very warm reception ;)]
While the stranger is concocting answer ((wreaven is being cautious)) Wraeven whistles sharply and summons 'Lenore'. [The raven either apparates on his shoulder or swoops down from some nearby post. ]
to Lenore: "What do you think of this stranger?"
[wait for some reaction from either the raven or the stranger-- ]
Greetings, I am Sorvas, I just noticed the markings and a shimmering glow from afar on these younglings. I show you my hands, empty of weapons and add. If I had meant anyone harmed I would have started loosing arrows from afar, taking you by surprise and not coming in close as I have, or simply waited until dark, picking you off one by one...He says the end with a smile.
Ayra, who has never been spoken to in this way, is completely rattled by Sorvas's words and suddenly feeling very vulnerable and exposed in the outdoors at night.
She gasps audibly and quickly abandons Sprauchle's plate of food on the wagon so she can begin gathering up the babies. "Why .. I ... I believe these younglings would be safer inside" she stammers as she gathers the babies into their basket as quickly as she can and hurries into the Edge.
Baby handling check 8 (based on animal handling but rolled with disadvantage because she is visibly shaken and also because she has never handled a baby before except for the one time Mobya passed one to her)
Wraeven aide from the quiet of the Merchant, you also did not notice much as you rush back it into the night. Seeing Ayra struggle to gather the babies.
Ayra you manage to get the two babies except the one that Mobya was holding onto the basket, and you begin moving toward the Edge. Leaving the plate from Crackle on the blanket where Mobya was. (Morn and Silv'ar have already moved the wagons toward the Stable building at this point.)
(It should also be noted that this is the first time the cubs' feet have glowed in the starlight.)
Sorvas says to the group as Ayra is grabbing the 2 younglings.
Truely I mean you no harm, I live off the land and only deal in what is and what is not. That carries over in my conversations expecially as I normally have little interaction with people most of the time, and little time for pleasantries.
[Greetings Sorvas!] [Also, apologies for my absence this weekend]
Alesandair, noticing the stranger approach the group, stays right by the clerics' tent observing the situation. When he sees Ayra being noticeably startled, he will quickly but silently approach from behind in order to hear what is being said.
After hearing that they mean no harm, he will introduce himself.
"Greetings comrade, my name is Alesandair." (A 6'4" Kalashtar with long flowing black hair dawning scale mail armor with a shield and yklwa carefully harnessed on his back)
"Well Lenore does not seem duly alarmed by your inquiries. However informing us that you could loose arrows at us from afar does not necessarily engender trust or good intentions. You could have accomplices about." Wraeven nods in Al's direction and towards Lil and Agozur. "The four of us could cause you harm, we haven't, so you should trust us? Sounds ridiculous. All you did was frighten a young friend of mine." Referring to the direction Ayra went.
"Enough of posturing. You said you saw the marking on the foot of the child somewhere before. Where?"
Ducking to make his way through the door Agozur will let out a stretch as he stands back to his full height of 7'10" and begin walking towards the group, hand on his light crossbow at his side. Letting out an audible sigh "I thought we would get some actual rest tonight... What seems to be the problem?"

May I look closer to see the marking? (as I can only vaguely see it from a distance.)

Wraeven rushes out to meet up with Ayra and Mobya and sees the Elf Ranger ready to pounce.
