(Agozur make a persuasion or intimidation check with advantage.)
As Agozur rushes to the edge of the small thicket these creatures were camped in, He acknowledges that they are fairly tightly clumped, and this bit of grass enclosed by bushes is really only about 20 ft across. He sees two crates on the ground next to a Bugbear with a series of scorch marks and Silv'ar's dagger still in his leg, next to him you see Bacon, and the Harpy, a large gash on her chest from Morn's ax and broken off arrow still stuck in her wing. She stands right beside with a scowl on her face, "Porker grab..." When you shout your epithet toward the criminals, she looks up surprised and lifts her torch to see Agozur better, right as his arrow flies surprisingly high...perhaps the brightness of the torch.
[ Because everyone was strategizing, you all are partially surprised (only partially) by Agozur's rush. Let's hold there everyone, until Agozur's perception roll is made.]
As your arrow flies overhead, each of the three responds a bit differently. Mud both surprised and cowered will fall to the ground on his side. After hearing your words, Mayfly still surprised will let out a shrill scream at you, but unsurprised, Bacon, having seen how well you shot from further away and seeing the arrow go high, will think you missed on purposed. Hearing your words, you watch as his face seems to set firmly and grimly. Looking down at his brother on the ground, Silv'ar's dagger within reach, he shouts, "I'm sorry for this, Mudmoo." He quickly draws the dagger from his brother's leg, evoking a yelp from Mud. With one hand on the hilt and the other using his palm to add more brutish strength to the hilt, Bacon will drive the dagger toward Mayfly crying, "NO MORE, MAYFLY! NO MORE!" Attack: 19 Damage: 6
The rest of the party would hear but not likely see in the same detail as Agozur does as, completely taken aback by Bacon's boldness and distracted by Agozur's arrow, Mayfly has no mental capacity left to respond to Bacon when the already bloodied blade turns toward her. As this Bugbear drives the dagger deeply in to the winged wretch, the hilt makes a loud crack, snapping a rib on impact. Agozur, you watch as color drains out of the harpy's face and incredulous she slumps slowly to the ground, her wings trying to catch her as she droops.
Everything is still for a moment as her scream turns to a gurgle and then a final sigh. Mud cowers at Bacon's feet, and Bacon stands a bit taller perhaps but hands and whole body shaking from the adrenaline and emotion of it all. With a shaky voice, "Destiny, Mud. We have a better destiny than this."
Hearing the shouts, Ayra will ready her shortbow and move toward the camp, stopping as soon as she gets a clear view of Mayfly, she releases and arrow at the harpy
Ayra, comes on the scene as Mayfly falls gurgling to the ground, and in the excitement of the fight, she releases an arrow with such force toward the unmoving target it cleaves through the stalk of one wing just before the creature comes to rest.
Coming back out of invisibility Agozur will step forward looking at Bacon
"Hmmm it seems like I was wrong about you, what are your plans now my friend?" with a grin curling across his face he will grab his coin purse and throw it towards Bacon "There's 10 gold in there, you could use it to start your own farm or something... finally live an honest life."
OOC: I've already deducted the 10g from Agozur (everything he owns.)
Alesandair will come rushing in the direction of where Agozur ran after hearing the harpy screech. Seeing the bloodied corpse while Bacon holds the hilt of the broken dagger.
"Seems we were right to trust your word, Bacon. You are no longer oppressed by this creature."
Ayra steps forward into the light of the campsite, satisfied now that the harpy is dead. After seeing a crackle of energy from his eldritch blast light up the corpse, She uses her Message cantrip to say to Wraeven: "It is safe now, she says. The foul creature is dead by Bacon's hand."
She approaches Bacon, offering to the bracelet she had taken from Gravel's corpse in her outstretched hand. "This was taken from your cousin. You will likely want it to remember him by"
Bacon is shocked out of his revery by the blast of force whooshing by him and hitting the Harpy's claw blasting some feathers and dust from the ground...if she wasn't dead from the dagger and the arrow (which both would have finished her off individually), she is most certainly not getting up at this point. Bacon's brother cowers with his hands over his head, making himself very small (at least for a bugbear) as you all appear. When the jangling purse hits the ground, seeing it, Bacon with reach over to his brother and gently lift him to his feet, "Mud, these is our new friends. They ain't too mean like Gravel and Mayfly was. I thinks we might do better iffin we be helpin' give back what we was takin'. Mud, can you says, 'sorry' for takin' them things?"
Mud still a bit dazed by the suddenness of everything, will hang his head low, and mumble, "sorries," his eyes still wide and not looking up at any of you as he computes the sudden shift in his fate.
After picking up what little camping supplies are salvageable in the single worn and beaten backpack at the campsite. Bacon will push Mud gently toward one of the cases, softly saying "Com'on Mudmoo, Let's helps 'em." Wiping the dagger on the wet grass, the bugbear will slip it carefully into his belt, pick up the gold from Agozur, breathe deeply, and stoop to get the other case. Looking into Agozur's eyes, in a heartfelt way, he'll say, "Thank you."
Shifting the weight of the case, he will take the bracelet with one hand, "It was our aunt's, thank you, ma'am."
Putting a hand on Bacon's shoulder "Don't thank me yet friend, giving up a life of crime will be much harder but more rewarding." on the way to bring the goods back to the merchant Agozur will tell Bacon all about Lil's family farm and what they do/have done there.
Once they get back to the caravan Agozur will bring Bacon to Lil "Do you think your family could use a couple more farm hands, Lil?"
Before we leave the camp, Ayra will stand over the dead harpy, looking down upon it and reflecting on all the violence and chaos it caused. She bends toward it and closes its eyes. perception 20
Al will pick up one of the crates and cast light on it so he can see while he walks through the woods.
Also, speaking to Ayra, "Can you also message Silv'ar, and tell him that we have the issue taken care of and he can either wait for us to come through or just continue towards the camp."
Responding to Al "I'm afraid I am not that powerful, my friend. I must be much closer in order for my messages to be heard." [The message cantrip only has a range of 120 ft]
As Ayra reaches down closing the woman's eyelids, she notices two small pouches under the side of Mayfly's rag-shirt. One has 5 gold, and the other a small trinket that almost looks like an eagle made out of a glass-like substance. (If only you had sending)
When Wraeven searches the camp after Bacon recovers items for him and Mud, he finds fishing tackle and a flask or tankard tucked behind a tree.
As you all head back, the two brothers carry the crates to where Silv'ar waits guarding the other two. Al can pick up one of these, and Morn will pick up the other. You're just a 1-2 minute walk from the campsite.
"How shall we go about this? Straight up ambush or try and sneak a little closer?"
Wraeven
"I think we go for the Harpy, from cover, as close as we can."
Agozur would like to rush in and plant an arrow seed into the one he thinks is Bacon (logistically the closest one to Agozur works.)
Exiting the thicket Agozur will chirp the bugbears "I knew destiny wasn't going to side with common criminals" before unleashing an arrow
Attack: 8 Damage: 10
Making it look like he's stepping backwards into the thicket Agozur will use hidden step to turn invisible until the start of his next turn.
