Mikkael is still tending to Bael I don’t know what’s wrong, he’s stabilized, but barely, his wounds won’t close, his breathing is extremely shallow, and he won’t come round. Issa comes over his shoulder Bael, you bastard, always braver than smart. he winces and tenderly touches his wound Im no sawbones, but something doesn’t seem right about this scratch either, perhaps something with the harpoons... was anyone else...
Issa’s legs buckle and he collapses to the deck. Tibus, injured and exhausted as he is rushes over to his captain. Garda climbs over the railing, and puts her hand to her mouth in shock.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Green leader standing by!" Earthhand shouts with a chuckle. He casts a gaze around the boat, conflicted between satisfaction at the groups intense and thrilling victory, and dismay at the injuries of his friends and companions. "Thank Ularian teh flock is safe! Alrigh' there Tibus? A harteh fight, yeh'll live fer another Oi'm sure. Bale!" the old dwarf runs toward the collapsed halfling, the fanged hood of his pelt cloak flapping in the sea breeze. He kneels beside Mikkael. "What in teh name o' teh spirits is wrong wit' yeh? Oi've ne'er seen my healing powers fail ter awaken a fallen comrade..."

Varris doesn’t notice anything more than Bastion and Earthand have already deduced. A voice calls from the water. Hello the ship, was that Garda I saw? It’s Aeloque, permission to come aboard?
Garda smiles a small smile despite the horror around her. Come aboard, Aeloque, we could use your help. A Sea Elf climbs agilely on to the deck, He surveys the scene of the battle and rushes over to the injured men, first checking Issa and then Bael. Damn, damn, and damn again, May I see that harpoon? He examines the harpoon, going so far as to rub his finger on the point and touch it against his tongue before immediately spitting over the railing. , It's as I thought, poisoned It's a distilled from the venom of a rare fish, known as a stone king. Merrow sometimes keep them as pets, after a fashion. quite rare in this neck of the woods. Their paralysis will continue to worsen unless we neutralize the the poison.
I see you handled these bastards, I’ve been tracking them for a while now. You don’t find two Merrow’s pairing together too often. Is this everything that they had with them?
Do not blame yourself, Druid, this poison is beyond the ken of normal Magic or Cleric’s art. Perhaps a full circle of druids could cleanse the poison from Bael and Issa, but never one alone. The only way to reverse the effects, tiefling, is to distill an antivenom from a stoneking. I know where these two laired, if we can go there and retrieve the fish, I can make the cure.
I believe that be our highest priority at the moment - Bael does not seem to have much time. What would you think our best way of getting there would be?
Ackam spits from blood out of his mouth as he walks over to Aeloque. "Until, the Capn' and Bael are both back on dere feet I can fill da role of Capn' and navigator. Just tell me where ta go and I'll get dis here ship sailen' in da right direction."
There’s an underwater cave not far from here, with the prevailing wind we could be there in less than an hour. Garda, do you still have your cloaks? We do, aye, I’ll set the course for the cave. Garda sets the course and locks the wheel, she goes into the hold and returns with arms overflowing with dark cloaks with light linings. She begins passing them out to the party. Here, Ackam, this is Bael’s it’s a perfect fit for you, and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind you borrowing it. she passes cloaks to the rest of the party These are our wrecking cloaks, cloak of the manta ray they’ll allow you to go down to cave with Aeloque
I appreciate your offer, Ackam, Garda says as she walks to the wheel. But I believe I’ll maintain the chain of command until Issa is recovered. I’ll be acting captain, but I would greatly appreciate your help manning the lines, under crewed as we are.
Agencythrows the cloak on with flair. Fashionable AND utilitarian. I like. She snaps a salute at Garda. Thankyou Capitan! Allow me to assist as well! She says nodding at Ackam.
Oh! Bastion, well done out there but can you use some of those examination parameters of yours to see if there is anything left from this sushi buffet we just had that might help us?
Following the battle with the Sahuagin and Merrows, the party, with the exception of Bastion who stayed on board the Gull’s Wing to assist with the wounded and in case anymore monsters showed up, donned the magical cloaks and descended into the sea. The met Aeloque’s dolphin, Rolf, and went down into the Merrow’s lair, an underwater cave made of stone with an over arching latticework of coral making up the top. They approached the cavern’s mouth where Varris cast light in a stone and Agency used magehand to illuminate the cavern. They disturbed a large creature they later found out to be a chuul the battle was hard fought but thanks to quick thinking, some incredible saves, and teamwork, the companions felled the beast. Aeloque explained that the Chuul were created by the old Gods to seek out magic items for their evil masters, so this one must have been attracted to the Merrow’s treasures, including a Sea Elf dagger +1 which Thorok found by casting detect magic and gave to Aedra, the Bracelets of Karr’Idon found by Agency, and a giant slayer greataxe of Dwarven make. They also acquired the Stoneking fish which Aeloque used to create an antivenom for Bael and Issa's wounds. The rest of the voyage passed peacefully with Ackam helping to pilot the ship to Balon's Rest.
Upon reaching the fishing town, the party, minus Bastion and Aedra, (we can talk about what you guys were up to while this was going on.) made it's way to the Blacksmith's shop operated by Dacklow Wachelt under the name Clovis Ironbrand. Upon reaching the shop they found it closed so they made their way to the local tavern known as Red's where they met Red herself, the curly haired owner and operator of the establishment. Thorok entered under the guise of a pug dog who was under the guise of a service animal, although Red had a no animals policy, Thorok passed a cuteness check and was allowed in in pug form. Red informed them that Clovis is an amateur distiller and infuser and operated a small garden and still outside of town and that he had closed up shop early to take care of a rat problem out there. As is want to happen a drinking contest soon began, but Agency decided to use some magic and an already agitated Red (Varris was getting a little handsy) threw everyone out of the tavern. Stern looks from the tough looking crowd followed the party into the street.
The party headed up to Clovis's (Dacklow's) garden and found him just outside his distillery and drying facility. They explained that Nimbus had sent them and made Varris made a very convincing argument as to why he should help them. Dacklow agreed to tell them how to get into the dungeon after they took care of the rat problem in his warehouse. It turned out to be more than a little rat problem when they found 6 giant rats a swarm of rats and a giant Were Rat which was roughly the size and strength of a werebear. Once again the party's quick thinking and inventive use of spells and environment, not to mention Ackam's new axe, helped them prove victorious with Varris finally exploding the wererat's head with his final tolling of the bells, making him unidentifiable.
Earthhandenjoyed his underwater adventure; it's been a long time since any quest directly called upon his connection to nature. Hearing Aeloque's description of the Merrow as territorial and greedy creatures unlike to working together, Earthhand put the pieces together that they must have banded together out of necessity having perhaps been driven out by a greater threat. His inference turned out to be correct when the party reached the cave to find a vicious crustacean creature who grabbed Thorok by the neck with its pincers and temporarily crushed his windpipe. He was able to recover in time to detect magic and help Aeloque harvest some stoneking venom for use as an antidote before returning to the ship.
Back on the Gull's Wing, Earthhand helped oversee the administering of first aid to Issa and Bael, shaking his head at the presence of a poison that eluded curing by his druidic magic.
As the party reached their destination in the town of Balon's Rest to meet up with Clovis (Dacklow) Earthhand once again resumed his role as canine scout, with similarly useless albeit fun results. Posing as Ackam's therapy dog (and a good doggo at that), Thorok was able to get around the no-dog rule of the local tavern where he was able to overhear the barkeep telling the party of Clovis' interesting hobby of liquor distilling, and help herd the party out of the inn when their negotiations tuned south.
As the party approached the distillery, Thorok finally came out of dog form, much to the surprise of Clovis], but not before smelling rats. He helped clear out the infestation in the distillery along with his companions, eagerly freezing several rats to death with shards of ice and paralyzing a giant were-rat in its tracks.

Earthhand catches a whiff of something unnatural coming from Bael’s harpoon wound, nothing he can place, but something evil.
BASTION picks up an offending harpoon and examines its freshly used blade for any sign of potion or dark magicks.

Bastion doesn’t notice anything beyond the fact that something is amiss.
Seeing BASTION looking at the spear, Varris walks over the construct. On the way to him, he mutters the words to Guidance to himself.
Do you mind if I take a look at that? Speear in hand, he looks at the tip for anything out of place. (Investigation).
