(Henry would have learned that Chult can be dangerous in his studies)
"You be correct. Chult be a very dangerous place. I would be glad to be helping you gather supplies. In Nyanzaru, many merchants be very nasty and be selling things for high prices. You will be needing a fat purse and a sharp tongue to deal with the Merchant Princes' workers."
Henry slaps his hands together, "That would be excellent!" He drains whats left of his glass, "Well we have no time to waste. Lets go shopping." he says, the grin back on his face.
Musharib stands up and begins to walk toward the door. "If you be leaving tomorrow, we better be going"
As you exit the rowdy in, you are once again directed through the crimson streets of the Red Bazaar. Even during the middle of a workday, the streets are crowded with various humans, tabaxi, and humanoids that are unfamiliar to you. After taking a route through the winding maze of streets that make up Port Nyanzaru's Market Ward, you find yourselves in a square packed with small merchant stalls, animal pens, and bartering Chultans. Along with small businesses, you see three larger structures towards the east side of the market. Musharib stops you here. "Right now we be in the heart of the Red Bazaar. Here, you be finding everyday needs: locally produced meat, vegetables, tropical fruit, tej, light clothing, insect repellent, rain catchers, and other household goods. After this, we be heading to the Merchant's Ward, where we can find weapons, armor, and fancy things."
Along with a large number of merchants, the Bazaar is filled with a spectrum of the more unsavory varieties of people. All of you need to make perception checks to notice and/or prevent pickpocketing.

Gimdir perception check: 6
Gimdir turns to Musharib and asks, "What be the necessities for travel in the jungle? What do we be each needing and what do we be needing one of for the whole party?"
He stops to think. "I be thinking that you will be in the Jungle for... more than twenty days to get to Hrakhamar. If the source of the curse be near there, it could take more than seventy days to complete this quest. As for necessities, you be wanting insect repellant, rain catchers, weapons, tents, food, and canoes if you be traveling by water. An animal might be of use, too"
Scamper gets nervous when Jerico mentions the pickpockets and tucks her coin purse in her jerkin causing the coins to clink together conspicuously as she walks. She tries to adjust it until it is silent, and then settles for holding the purse on the inside of her shirt with her shield hand. Only after the whole affair is settled does she start looking for pickpockets.
Henry looks thoughtful for a few moments as he does some quick counting in his head. He then looks to Musharib, quick firing a few questions, "Do you advise we get 70 days rations now or can we find food out in the jungle? How many rain catchers will we need?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Is it...Is it...hmmmm...Ahhh Ee-ka-wipment for the jungle, ya. We n-needs it, ya"
OOC: I assume that for being drunk I'm going to be taking disadvantage here. So that's an 8. Also it has the "possibly manipulated rolls" banner because I did disadvantage wrong on the dice rolling tool and then fixed it.
Henry:When you hear Jerico mention the pickpockets, you look down at your own purse. You see that a hole was sliced into the bottom of it and you are missing 6 coins.
Jerico: You keep a very close watch over Scamper. Unfortunately, your actions to protect Scamper's purse leave your coin pouch out in the open. When you look down at your purse, you see that it is completely open and only 4 coins remain.
Scamper: Thanks to Jerico's close watch and your defensive measures, your coin purse is untouched.
Jasuri:You drunkenly stumble around, bumping against various passersby. Meanwhile, pickpockets and cutpurses make short work of your coin bag. Your alcohol-addled mind only notices this as a weight that is slowly removed from your shoulders. 9 coins are missing
Musharib appears to be doing some counting in his head. "You be needing...two or three rain catchers. Each rain catcher can be holding eight gallons of rainwater. They weigh only five pounds, but be taking up space on your back." He chuckles at the mention of seventy days rations. "If you be carrying seventy days of rations, you be slower than a Tortle. You should each only be bringing a few days rations. Normally, you be able to forage for food in the jungle." He leads you over to the first of the three large tents. Like the other two, it is covered by a colorful tarp and has no walls. The ceiling is held up by six wooden poles. Inside, you see Chultans, tabaxi, and turtle men (Tortles) selling items. The merchants sell spears, swords, armors, and shields for those who need ways to defend themselves. For those who don't, they sell wagons, canoes, rain catchers, rations, and other items more suited for an explorer. You can see that some of the higher quality goods are being sold near a small office in the center of the canopy.
[Manipulated dice banner because I rolled 1d20-5 by accident]
Gimdir: You notice that your coin purse is missing 4 coins.
[Equipment costs are standard except for heavy armor, which is more expensive]
You see two shops selling shields and one selling rain catchers. One of the weapon stores is closer to the center, while the other is farther out. The central store is attended by a female Chultan wearing decorative armor. The outer stall is attended by a tabaxi who is examining his wares. Both shops look like they have well-made items, but the central store is selling noticeably nicer weapons, shields, and armor. The rain catcher stall looks like an average store and is attended by a Chultan man.
Since the market is packed with people, it is packed with rumors. Anyone can attempt a Wisdom (Insight) to overhear useful information.
Henry looks down at his purse and starts to curse in a range of harsh sounding languages. (The different dialects of primordial). He then holds his purse closer to his chest.
Henry loves gossip: 4
Henry looks from Scamper, to Jerico and then at Jasuri. "I may be old, but I still have my strength. I can manage a rain catcher."
He then looks back Musharib, "But what about repellent? Do we need 70 days worth of that?"
He then walks up to the tabaxi, giving his friendliest grin (probably more terrifying than friendly, but that's Henry). "Hi there. Could I please get 1 rain catcher, 10 days of rations, 2 waterskins, 1 tent and 2 months worth of insect repellent."
(If Musharib says we need less repellent, Henry will ask for the recommended amount.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(For the sake of avoiding a brawl right here in the square, Gimdir doesn't notice the missing coin.)
Gimdir will buy whatever rain catcher Musharib suggests, then he will buy himself a solid shield (10 gp). After that he will head over to the center stalls to inspect the more decorative armors and weapons.
He'll definitely listen to the crowd and the gossip: Insight: 14
(Henry) The tabaxi cocks his head and gives you a look. "Are you heading into the jungle? We don't sell insect repellant here. For that, you should go to Kwayothe." He shows off his equipment to you. "I sell weapons, shields, and other means of defense. If you want rain catchers and other jungle stuff, talk to Weshtek over there. I'd be happy to sell you some of my things, though."When he mentions Weshtek, he points at the human selling rain catcher.
"Having a lot of insect repellant be a good idea. Most markets be selling insect repellant as either burnable bricks or a greasy salve. You be needing an equal amount of each."
Henry doesn't catch any interesting conversations.
"My bad, not used to busy places." Henry apologises before continuing, "Unfortunately for you, the only weapon I need is up here."He says pointing to his head. As he walks of he then mutters something along the lines of, "So many bright colours, all these stores look the same."
(Gimdir) The tabaxi sells you a fine shield of dwarven manufacture. He seems happy to take your money. After inspecting the rain catchers, Musharib picks one out, "This be a good one" he turns to look at you "I be paying for this"
At the fancier weapon store, you see a Chultan woman. "Hi, I'm Ekene-Afa. Can I help you with anything?"The weapons she sells are significantly higher quality than the Tabaxi's.
Gimdir is also unable to hear any useful information.

Three Merchant Princes sell their products in the Red Bazaar.
Ekene-Afa. Deals in weapons, shields, traveling gear, rain catchers, saddles, wagons, and canoes
Jobal. Deals in guides and sellswords
Kwayothé. Deals in fruit, wine, ale, tej, oil, perfume, and insect repellent

We have one. Jerico laughs as he eyes the oa. Well, close. And Scamper, you might want to watch out for pickpocketers. They suck at places like this.
(helping scamper. Scamper gats advantage. Perception:11)
