Battlehammer nods in approval of your unanimous consent. "Good. Now, I would have words with you, man of earth. This shrine you speak of is known only to a handful, and of those only a few have ever visited the altar. It is a dark place."
"There's a curse on that altar." Battlehammer replies grimly. "It's an unholy place. Our clerics can't work magic within a mile rarius of it, and the fools who approach it we find wandering the mines days later, muttering to themselves. "
"I tell you already. Hell king is subject of altar." Brixo seems pained by his words, "I cannot make these sounds to make common name of hell king."
He turns to Inquiry and asks bluntly, "What is name of your god, blue one?" Brixo means no offence with his question, and would be apologetic if he realised he'd pinched a nerve.

Doubtless your clerics and warriors are stout of mind and heart (and stature though that is far from the point), was there any knowledge gleaned from their expeditions beyond that prayers could not be answered in this altar's vicinity?
Wazzok is tapping her foot axiously, trying to be diplomatic, but wanting to get to the heart of the matter.
Perhaps, your majesty, but I can't help but wonder if anything of value cannot be salvaged from the words of your madmen? After all, even the idiot god Bahgtru has had some wise utterances.
Wazzok shifts her feet, a bit nervous to have the King addressing her directly.
But, no matter, if this is the information that can be provided, then perhaps it is best that we set ourselves to the task in body, as well as mind?
Inquiry finishes tying the note off on Daedalus’s leg and mentally commands him to deliver it to her father’s Keep and then return. She then speaks up, pointedly looking at Brixo. “I don’t worship them, I detest them. Regardless, there are nine. And that is just in the Hells alone. The demons lords of the Abyss are nearly endless. Perhaps if I could take a look at it, we may find some answers. One with my... heritage makes it her business to know of the fiendish and unholy, after all.”

[OoC]: I can't tell if you're ignoring Brixo deliberately or if you just missed my post?
Chazrael shrugs at Inquiry's words. "I make it my business to know the unholy and demonic, but probably for a different reason." Listening to King Battlehammer and Brixo, he adds," Unholy? Hell King. Now you have my attention."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
King Battlehammer shrugs. "We have committed those driven insane by the altar to a mental asylum outside of the city. You will have an opportunity to question them after you have returned from the expedition."
"Is it some demon? OH! Maybe there's a cult down there. I've heard of a cult that worshiped a demon." Cori quickly adds, seeming rather proud of the suggestion.

The ever growing document of character concepts can never be too long, can it?
Inquiry stifles a quick giggle at the exchange between the King and Brixo. “Asmodeus, my King? Yes, I know much of him. It is his blood that runs through my veins, unfortunately. He is the lord of the devils, the father of tieflings, and the ruler of the Nine Hells. If it is he we are up against, then I would be more than happy to help. I have no respect for him.”

"You know of altar?" Brixo looks shocked. "Why not destroy it? Great evil is king of hell. No good can come from this thing."

"You already know who this altar is to correct?" Morrig looks between King Battlehammer and Brixo trying to understand what they're going on about
Battlehammer shakes his head. "We don't know who it's dedicated to, or even who built it. As I said, it's an unholy place."

"The trouble is, everyone who approached the altar went insane." Battlehammer remarks.

Brixo, breathing deeply, is becoming increasingly frustrated at trying to pronounce the name.
"As-dom-in-us." He frowns. "No. As-mos-day." He throws his arms in the air. "I give up! The tricks of the lower planes!"
