Vappa, you watch the two pass the dagger and rum back and forth until the Half-Orc suddenly burries the blade into his ring finger. With a grunt, he pulls it free and takes another swig from the bottle of rum before wiping his mouth and standing up from the table. He wanders over to watch the arm wrestling, leaving a spot open across from the Elven woman. You take a seat and lay 10gp on the table. With a whistle, the woman rummages through her pockets until she manages to scrounge up 10gp worth of coin. She slides you the dagger and bottle of rum and leans back in her seat, arms crossed. You take a long pull on the bottle and your eyes immediately water at the fire in your throat. You try you best to maintain your composure and begin stabbing the dagger betwixt your fingers. You manage one time through when the burning in your mouth and throat cause you to suddenly sputter and cough, throwing off your aim and causing you to bury the dagger just below the first knuckle of your index finger. The woman smiles and gives you a slow clap before raking the pile of money into her coin pouch. "Keep the bottle mate, you look like you're going to need it."
Vappa let's out a sharp hiss as he pulls the dagger out. He flexes his fingers, watching the blood trickle down his arm. He looks back to the elven woman, reaches into his coin purse and drops 30gp on the table. "Once more." He snarls.

The woman eyes the large pile of gold now gleaming in the middle of the table and says "Excuse me a moment, I'm a bit short." She then stands and goes over to the Half-Orc. She talks to him for a bit while gesturing over toward you, and the Half-Orc looks over, sizing you up. He sighs and hands her a pouch of gold before turning back to the arm wrestling. The woman returns and counts out 30gp before sliding the dagger and bottle back over to you. She watches you deftly complete your turn and accepts the items to begin hers.
The woman grimaces at your bad luck and tosses you a few coins from the pile. "First round's on me, mate. Cheers." and she leaves you to nurse your wounds.
Vappa, you take 2 points of piercing damage and lose 35gp (-10 for the first round, -30 for the second, and +5 for the coins she tossed you).
Strife, only one person acknowledges your offer for a game of Dragonchess. A one-eyed dwarf whose beard is stained with vomit. He's too far into his cups to realize his eyepatch isn't even covering his eye socket. With a look of absolute disdain, he spits onto the floor next to your foot and passes out onto his table. His eyepatch is flipped up and comically located in the middle of his forehead.
"Maybe I will try the stabby hand game instead... " The kobold would say as he slides the game board back into his backpack. "I have 20 gold to bet if anyone is interested..."
Straight DEX. Sleight of Hand would be used under a separate roll if you wanted to attempt to cheat. If no other party member wants to play against you, a portly gnome with large mutton chops will take you up on your offer and sit down.

Strife will pull out his new dagger, lower his goggles, and toss his new tricorn hat up on to his head before taking a swig and going to work with the dagger. DeX 6
Strife, the Gnome curses as he manages to catch the tip of his little finger and rip the nail clean off. He then takes a swig of the rum and pours a bit on his finger before standing and waddling out of the Tavern. You gain 20gp.
I take it everyone wants to head to the ship by this point, but for those that are interested, you do pass an open-air market on your way back to the ship. One of the tables is laden with magic items. I'll post a list of the items and their prices when I get home from work.

Strife would wince when he sees the lizardfolk spear his finger.. "Ouch..."
"Quite an interesting game...." Lady Susanne observes..."so you pay to remove your own finger...guess you can only play 10 times..."

Was that 5 before or after the -1 penalty?
Before, that's why I said dang. Sorry, I wasn't fast enough to say it.
No problem! I misunderstood.
