What occurred in that round:
The greater zombie charges into your midst. But it directs its attention on the garbage bin. Slashing with its greataxe and punching with the other hand, it tears apart the bin, exposing the bard Rooster, who tries to burrow into garbage that is near him. The zombie reaches for him.
Pascal steps away from the zombie (who isn't paying attention to him), and directs a cold chromatic orb at it. He remembers too late that zombies have resistance to cold (and ghosts have immunity to cold). The glancing strike does no damage.
Hildigrim also steps away from the garbage bin, in order to shoot his bow. He hits (23) for 10 damage (zombie is next to the group). After the arrow hits, the zombie turns away from Rooster, and snarls at the party.
A 2nd ghost was nearby (not possessing anyone), and it surges up to Hildigrim. It tries to enter him, but with a 19 for his CHA save, Hildigrim resists possession.
Jorin responds to the zombie snarling by growling at it. With his rage engaged, he is able to strike (15 just hits) for 14 damage. (Hildigrim gave him Help, but his 2nd roll was not a critical.)
Quillary applies a Chill Touch to the man possessed by the 1st ghost, for 7 necrotic damage.
Before the man can strike, Drusk holds up his "don't worry, be happy" holy symbol. The zombie and the 2nd ghost are able to resist it, but the 1st ghost does not. It exits the man, and goes fleeing into the night. (OOC: It is only turned for a minute, but it is not coming back.)
The man, no longer possessed, lets out a whimper and flees from the fight.

Jorin, Drusk, and Quillary are next to the greater zombie. It tore open the garbage bin to get at Rooster, but now that the zombie is damaged, it is going after the party.
Pascal and Hildigrim are 15' away, and a Ghost is within melee range of those two.
The other ghost that possessed the man has fled, and the man himself ran away in the opposite direction.
The zombie has take 24 damage so far.
Hildigrim resisted being Possessed by the ghost.

... yep, forgot about cold resistance. I was thinking the moist zombie might’ve been vulnerable to things that freeze it. However, there’s only one sure fire way to kill the dead, FIRE!
(Normally, Pascal gets disadvantage from making a ranged attack when there is an enemy within 5' of him. To keep things simple, Hildigrim will Help him, which cancels out the disadvantage. And since Pascal is still next to the ghost, Hildigrim gets Sneak damage.)

Pascal sends off a Fire Bolt at the zombie. The ghost tries to interfere with him, but a timely warning by Hildigrim allows Pascal to get a clear shot (22 to hit). He does 16 fire damage.
Hildigrim steps back (avoiding the ghost trying to claw him), and fires an arrow at the ghost (24) for 20 damage (including Sneak).
The zombie (init 18) decides to maul the cleric who tried to turn it. (OOC: The dice roller keeps picking Drusk as the target.) The axe hits (22) for 10 damage, and the slam is deflected by Drusk's shield (16).
Quillary (init 16) activates her club, and scores a critical hit for 13 magic bashing damage. The halo of spores is ignored by the zombie. (Resistance to necrotic means 1 damage will do nothing.)
Drusk (init 14) summons his Spiritual Weapon, but it misses the ghost. His mace does connect with the zombie (18) for 5 damage.
The Ghost uses its Horrifying Visage. Drusk, Pascal, and Quillary pass the DC 13 WIS save. Hildigrim (10), Volo (11), and Jorin (6) fail, and are Frightened. Jorin also feels his endurance leaving him, as he is aged 30 years. (!!)
Jorin (init 4) is not yet affected by his fear, and hits the zombie with the axe for 7. His sword blow is feeble (8), as he is not as young as he used to be.

OOC: 30 years! That's bad enough for a human. What if you had been a kenku, which hardly lives longer than that!? Finally found where Jorin's age was given: 29. At least, that was before beginning the first story. That would make him 59 now. Not very old at all, really. Does the age-altering change his stats?
