Drusk: "I would be worried if Pascal offered it some bar-b-q sauce that goes well with brains."

That damage brings the total to 111, just enough. (A "normal" mind flayer has 71 hp. Yrax had quite a bit more.)
Jorin sees an arrow tip emerge from the mind flayer's maw, stopping an inch from his eyeball. (Hildigrim's arrow entered from the back of Yrax's head.) The tentacles twitch, then stop moving. With a grunt of fear and revulsion, he tears the mind flayer away from his skull, and tosses the lifeless body to the side.
When Yrax's body hits the floor, the grimlocks let out bestial growls of anger. The 15 intellect devourers in the kennels smash against the sides of the cages (but are still locked up).
Guard2 (next to Drusk) is making a move towards one of the kennel doors...
It hasn't worked up to now, but Drusk will try to grapple the guard, and drag him away from the kennels.
Drusk (athletics): 14 vs. grimlock Veteran (athletics): 20 (still no luck with the grappling)
Also uses a bonus action to have the spiritual weapon attack.
Attack: 25 Damage: 11 (hits, first damage, well over half health)

Quillary's eyes flicker from the now dead mind flayer to the grimlock running for the cages. She taps the cat skull, speak some words and brings her other hand down in a swift motion, and a shaft of light descends from the ceiling onto the creature.
Action: Cast Moonbeam with a 3rd level slot on the grimlock trying to free the intellect devourers. 19 radiant damage or half on a Con Save vs DC 15.
