First, ow. Second, three (!) Con saves against disease, DC 14, with Advantage for being dead-ish, plus Bless...
18 13 17
...da... those were some bad rolls there, 1, 2, 2, 5, 8, and 11, and with Adv, too. So two fails, for future diseased reference, I guess. Should have been three.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quillary reels from all the attacks, buffeted over and over again, the final blow a fiery lash that sets her eyes wide... and then her pupils constrict and her face turns into a mask of rage. "Wither and die already!" she screams at the aboleth, who can probably barely hear her under the water. Her spores swirl, diminished, but then race for the recently discarded troglodyte, and it jerkily begins to move, sightless eyes trained on the fire elemental. Quillary, seemingly unaware of what her spores are doing, reaches out towards the aboleth, incanting in her guttural language, pulling at something in the abomination...
Move: She wishes to get or stay within 30' of the aboleth. Action: Cast Blight on the aboleth, leaching moisture from it (yeah, it's underwater, but whatevs), for 29 necrotic damage or half if it makes a Con Save vs DC 15 Reaction: Fungal Infestation to bring a troglodyte back to life and have it throw itself at the fire elemental immediately after her turn Bonus Action: Nah, man, that's enough of a turn.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: I'll be reordering events. Hope that is okay with everyone.)
Hildigrim second d20 roll for disadvantage: 8 The first roll applies. With Bless, Hildigrim's arrow strikes, erasing the healing that the aboleth got from draining the previous troglodyte.
Hildigrim WIS save vs. DC 14: 21 (takes 7 psychic damage from lair effect)
As a legendary action, the aboleth grasps the last trog on the surface and drains its life force, healing 11 points.
Jorin runs towards Quillary (and the fire elemental), then dives down. His first strike does 18 damage. The aboleth roars in pain. (Down to 2 HP.) With glee, Jorin strikes a second time with his axe, chopping a great gash in its side. (Jorin needs to roll 2 CON saves vs. DC 14 disease. This is from the mucus within 5' of the aboleth.)
Everyone winces briefly, as the aboleth lets out a psionic shriek of pain but then it stops moving.
Pascal shakes his head, as the charm wears off. BUT... His concentration on the elemental lapses. With this spell, the elemental is no longer under his control. Considering the elemental has been immersed in water, it has gone berserk, continuing to attack the party.
Jorin floats to the surface, and slashes at the fire elemental with his moon blade, doing 16 damage. (He takes 5 fire damage from the contact.)
Quillary has a look of grim satisfaction at the aboleth's death, but the fire elemental is still roaring in her face. She turns her annoyance to the elemental. "Wither and die already!"
Elemental CON save vs. DC 15: 17 Removing moisture doesn't bother a fire elemental. But the Blight also drains vitality. The flames weaken, the life force being quenched. It takes the full 29 necrotic damage.
Drusk WIS save vs. the lair effect: 20 (passes) The half-orc will attack with his mace, and use his bonus action to have the spiritual weapon bash it.
Attack: 14 Damage: 7 (misses)
Bonus Attack: 25 Damage: 9 (hits)
The dead aboleth floats at the bottom of the lake.
Pascal will try a chromatic orb (cold) at 4th level, aimed at the elemental. Bless for to-hit: 1
Attack: 10 Damage: 32
The elemental has 8 HP after the orb hits. The elemental takes 10 damage at the start of its turn, as its fire is finally extinguished by the lake water.
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
Jorin needs to roll 2 more CON saves vs. DC 14 disease (from the mucus that was around the aboleth when he attacked).
Quillary is feeling a bit queasy from the earlier tentacle attack. She seems okay, but starts scratching at her arm. She feels like her skin is getting mushier.
Hildigrim is at 13 HP. Jorin is at 14 HP. (Drusk still has another Channel Divinity, so he will do some healing shortly.)
Quillary has a zombie troglodyte under her control. It does smell pretty bad, so she has it stay some distance from the party. (It is a troglodyte.)
Pascal looks a bit sheepish (for a lizard man). In particular, he apologizes to Quillary for the fire elemental that was summoned while he was mind-controlled.
Besides the aftermath of combat, a reminder that there is an underwater passage on the west wall of this cavern. There is also an island in the middle of the lake which has a lot of objects and debris on it. There also seems to be a large creature of some kind in the middle of that junk, larger than a warhorse, with 3 legs and tentacles. Link to post 4862, with the map in the "spoiler".

Jorin Con Saves: 13, 26. Edit: forgot bless, which will save the first one! lol 4, 4
(OOC: Drats... If you were curious, being exposed to the mucus causes you to breathe only water for several hours. That might have been fun for role-playing, especially with Water Walking trying to keep you above water.
Well, we still have Quillary, who has a nastier disease...)

The she casts Lesser Restoration on herself, hoping she can ward off whatever cold or crud she may have caught in these caves.
Quillary notices that the skin on her arm is becoming translucent and slimy, and that it is spreading. She casts Lesser Restoration on herself. She spits out some vile fluid, and feels back to normal. She pokes at her arm to make sure the skin really is the way it used to be.
OOC: After a minute, disease can't be removed short of a Heal, can't recover HP unless in water, and not moisturizing every 10 minutes causes acid damage. But she removed the disease before the minute was up. And for the role-playing, I was thinking spitting out a tiny bit. Not something as bad as John Carpenter's "Prince of Darkness":

"Say there Quillary, what would you put the odds at for us finding a tavern down here? A horn of ale would feel real good in hand right now." Jorin says, still laid out on his back, gently bobbing in the water.
Since the party is hanging out, Drusk will use his last Channel Divinity to partly heal the party. Quillary is up to 22 HP, Hildigrim to 30 HP, and Jorin to 31 HP.
He then asks the party: "Do we want to look around, or head back to the river?
"That island has lots of junk on it. Maybe something interesting? That big creature hasn't moved yet, so maybe it isn't active.
"There is also that underwater passage on the west wall, that the aboleth went into briefly. After water walk wears off (in a few minutes), we could try swimming down there."

As soon as Jorin collapses on top of the water, Hildigrim lurches over and does the same, laying in almost the exact same position as the big man beside him, but at a 90-degree angle. With a startling hoot, Volo flutters down to land on the halfling's stomach. Hildi lifts his head to look at his familiar. "Ah. Good. You persist." He drops his head back to lay on top of the water again, closes his eyes, and pants a little.
As Drusk's healing magic fills his battle-worn body with more life, Hildigrim sits up, causing Volo to flutter into the air and hoot again. The rogue gets to his feet, puts his hands in the small of his back, and bends backward. "Would you like me to send Volo over to see if it reacts to his presence? Or I could shoot an arrow at it."
Quillary also has her trog-zombie that could be sent to the island.
Volo's eyesight allows the owl to keep his distance. In the middle of the island, wearing a crude net as a cloak, is a petrified otyugh. (The non-petrified version is a large lumpy monster that eats trash or whatever it can get its tentacles on.) Treasure has been piled around the statue’s three stumpy legs.
The owl also notices some movement around the underwater passage on the west wall, but is too far away (and the water too slimy) to tell more than that.

(For that map in post 4862, the party is between the red X and the island. That submerged passage is 4 of those 10' squares west of the red X.)
The trog-zombie reaches the island. It stumbles over piles of coins and other junk, falling onto its face a few times. The racket is pretty loud (like a shelf of pots and pans falling to the floor). No reaction from anything on the island.
(I would assume that Hildigrim is more focused on the movement by the western passage.) Keeping Volo at a far distance (and using Volo's sight to have his body step away from the northwest corner of the cave), Hildigrim tells the party that there are several unidentified objects, mannish sized, moving near that underwater passage. They are staying submerged, and are hugging the western wall, headed towards that exit to the northwest (narrow tunnel that your raft would barely fit into).
