With the final word of his spell, and as Volo divebombs the devil to distract him, Hildi releases the arrow at Viallis.

(Have fun in Italy. Never been there myself. In the past, whenever there was a science conference anywhere in Italy, a colleague always tried to be assigned to it, as he was addicted to Italian coffee.)
Jorin was restrained by the tentacles, so normally would have disadvantage. His reckless attacks offset that. (And all of the higher rolls happened to be the first ones rolled.) Two axes strikes wound grell G1, and a critical strike with the moon blade is just able to split the grell in half, freeing him from its clutches. Using his second wind, he does 25 damage to the C3 cultist. (The cult fanatics are much sturdier than the run-of-the-mill villagers that are recruited.)
Hildigrim strikes Viallis with the acid arrow. Even after the healing potion, the mage had 9 hp, so he collapses, his fair face scarred by acid. (Blight was very nasty, and he couldn't Counterspell since he used his reaction for Shield.)
The "janitor" next to Quillary tries to interfere with her spell casting. (All ranged attacks are at disadvantage if a foe is within 5'.) Drusk will try to get rid of the nuisance, who is already hurt by her spore attack. Joybringer Attack: 14 Damage: 8
Drusk will also cast Spiritual Weapon, which does not require concentration. If he missed C2 with the mace, then C2 gets the magic attack. Otherwise, target the remaining grell G2. Spell Attack: 12 Damage: 7

Quillary sees that Viallis has slumped down in a pool of acid, so applies a spectral hand to the same cult fanatic that Jorin slashed. Kind of creepy to see someone shouting in terror but being absolutely quiet. C3 clutches his chest, then falls over from a heart attack.
The C4 cultist applies a healing potion to Viallis, making him conscious with 6 hp.
The remaining grell G2 attacks Jorin, with advantage (due to reckless).

The C5 cultist redirects her ring from Jorin to Drusk. (Force damage vs. a raging barbarian is nice, but Hildigrim's suggestion to use Silence is causing them problems.) Another spectral ram's head bursts force, flying at the half-orc. Attack: 22 Damage: 14
Lord Viallis springs to his feet, being revived by the last healing potion the cultists had on them. The after-effects of the acid arrow (7 more damage) leaves him staggering (at 1 hp). Viallis gestures for his cultists to continue fighting bravely against the party. As soon as they turn away from him, Viallis scurries to the wall southwest of the statue, opening a secret door, which he goes through. (You know where the secret door is now.)

Jorin feels his limbs stiffening up, but before he is paralyzed, he sees the remains of the bodies on the altar. The thought of people captured and sacrificed gives him an extra surge of adrenaline, and he keeps fighting.
Despite hitting the grell 3 times (and the spiritual weapon damage last round) and causing massive wounds, the grell is still active, drool from its beak spattering on Jorin's chest.
(I'm assuming that the trip to Italy caused Mingofaust to miss the list of the dead in post 5695. Since a 10 to-hit misses any of the enemies...)
Quillary is pissed that Viallis has slinked away into another secret chamber. He can't be tracked down until these cultists and their pet monster are dispatched. She powers up her club and wails on the dead janitor next to her, just in case he was playing possum.

Hildigrim watches around Drusk's leg as Viallis scurries out of sight. Cursing under his breath, Hildi draws an arrow and moves forward (down) 25 feet, hopping deftly over the benches in his path. As he enters the area of Drusk's spell, he fights the urge to stop and marvel at the absolute silence. He once again telepathically asks his owl to aid his efforts, and he releases an arrow into C4 before sprinting another 25 feet toward the secret door.

The newly summoned grell had more stamina than the average grell. But with Jorin's attacks, and another 20 points of force and radiant damage from the cleric's spells, the grell is smashed to pieces. (Jorin no longer restrained.)
