Ilena bows her head quickly towards Hildigrim, "Thank you, master Hildigrim for the lesson. I'll be sure to do some more research on the... door-guard clans when I have a moment." She writes in her journal, door-guard, dwarf clan? Underdark.
Here's a current map. I have some free time today, so I made some embellishments. Straw mattresses, furniture. The door they were arguing about is the north door.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Ilena will approach the door, stepping gently over the bodies, and stoop to see if she can peer under it, or if not, press her ear against it to determine if she's able to hear anything beyond.
It is dark in there, under the door, nothing to see. Pressing her ear against it (cause that's a good roll), Ilena hears what might be... the sound of slow ripples on a pond? However, unmistakeable is the distinct smell of a latrine. And just as you had begun to leave the sewer smell behind you.

Drusk will listen to the southern door. Perception: 4

Despite his excellent roll, and despite the uncomfortable crunching sounds coming from Pascal, Drusk hears nothing through the southern door. He is certain there is nothing (making noise) on the other side.

Drusk votes to open the north door, to deal with whatever is there (so it doesn't follow us), and then try the south door.

Hildigrim gives Jorin a big grin, then gives Ilena a small bow. Watching both Ilena and Drusk check the doors, the halfling is content to listen to suggestions by the others. Finally, he says to Drusk, "As a duergar — however easily he was bested by us — and three hardened humans were nervous about what is behind that door, I'm inclined to exhibit a little more caution than recklessly throwing open the door. It is times like these when I wish our friend Mrs. Brinarei had accompanied us. Surely she would know a spell which could open that door from afar."He considers again the piled up furniture. "I'm feeling a little apprehensive about what's behind that barrier."
Before Jorin throws open the door, Drusk readies a Sacred Flame, which will be cast as long as there are no humanoids inside. A blast of sunshine and UV light will do wonders for disinfecting the bathroom.

OOC > I'm not going to go full combat round graphics (don't have my iPad with me, and I don't think it'll warrant it) but here goes...
Jorin throws the door open dramatically (after throwing the furniture aside dramatically) to reveal a latrine, and out of the hole in the ground, a very large puddle of gray matter oozing up out of it. It fills the small room entirely, and you can see the bones of small humanoids peeking out of it as it burbles. It launches itself towards the light and fresh prey...
But Drusk gets his Sacred Flame off first. The creature's Dex save is: 12... ...vs. Drusk's Spell DC of 12.
...hold for results...
It saves by the skin of its... protoplasm? Another post incoming.
Jorin stands right in front of the door. The gray ooze is stretching out to touch him.
One other person can get within melee range of the ooze unless it comes out of the latrine room, and Drusk is the closest person, so likely him. Everyone else can get ranged attacks on it, if they like.
Next: Everyone please declare.
Declare Delay or as many of Action, Move, Bonus Action and/or Reaction as you want
Roll initiative (just in case)
Roll for your declared actions (to hit, damage, etc.) if any
OoC - Is the Ooze currently in melee range of Jorin, or can he take a step back (so as not to block the door, rather than anything even remotely approaching cowardice!) without incurring an attack of opportunity?
Sorry, melee range, so yes, the ooze would get an AoO if Jorin were to step away. Door opened out, into the room you are standing in, hinges on the left so it swung open into the wall on your left, giving room for someone (Drusk?) to step up to Jorin’s right.
Jorin’s Rage has expired, as we had a minute or two of conversation about the awesome dispatching of the bandits and what to do next.

Drusk will step away, to allow someone else to get in melee range if they want. (Preferably to the room wall directly west of the latrine door, where he still has line of sight on the ooze.)
Another Sacred Flame, for 1 radiant if it misses its DC 12 DEX save. (It seems a bit sluggish, pun intended.)
