There is nothing to bar the double doors. Like all the other doors in this place, they barely even latch, they are so flimsy.
Drusk moves ahead, assuming Hildi and Ilena will watch Jorin, and glances through the double doors as he comes abreast of them. It is dark in there, but with his darkvision and the torch light spilling through, he sees a large room with several exits, and in the middle of it stands a short stone pillar.
However, what immediately attracts his attention is the eight foot tall, four foot wide black hole in the south wall of the large chamber. It is completely opaque, and obviously magical, not a normal hole in a normal wall. It is not more than 20 feet away from Drusk, about 40 feet away from everyone else.
OOC > Will save the Medicine action roll (stellar!) in case Drusk wants to do something else now that he has more info. We're not in combat, but I'm keeping track of time...

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Patting Jorin on the shoulder, Ilena says, "What happened? What was that tentacled horror?" she looks at Jorin, and then over to the dead brain-cat with concern.
Jorin looks up at Ilena and says, "Yes, well, I think so at least. I heard a voice in my head and was unable to refuse it. I am only glad that I did not hurt Drusk very much."
OOC > Just to check in, waiting for Hildigrim to move, and/or for Drusk to decide to continue to the fallen humanoid with his awesome medical check, or do something about the weird portal in the other room. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Drusk will use the Medicine check on the fallen humanoid ("...another humanoid, who seems to be alive and making whimpering sounds..."). Since the bandits and the flaming fist were threatening it, the humanoid could have been injured or bleeding out.

Hildi remains shocked at the turn of events, and does nothing. Pascal and Ilena comfort Jorin, who is on his knees contemplating the last few minutes. Drusk approaches the downed humanoid, and rolls the gory half-orc off of him. The revealed human is approximately 35 years of age, male, with red hair and dressed sort of fancy, though his clothing is now dirty and bloodstained. Drusk's expert medical check reveals that he is suffering from exhaustion (level 3), and injured, but should make it. He does not require healing.
The figure groans and opens his eyes, trying to focus on the half-orc kneeling over him. He cringes and whispers hoarsely, "No more, please. I don't know anything..."

"I believe his name was Floorn." Jorin calls out. Feeling some of the shame bleed away under the comforting words of Ilena and Pascal, Jorin slowly stands. His axes hang from the loops on his belt. "Red hair and fancy clothes, I think they may be our quarry."
"I'm pretty sure Ranaer said his name was Florb." Ilena calls out, hugging the wall while peering into the darkness of the room to the west. [direction based on map orientation.]
The man tries to sit up, "Ye... yes? My name is Floon. Are you... are you looking for me?"
Ilena peers into the western room, but the torchlight from the room you are in does not go far enough to make much out. There's a short pillar in the middle, and something funny about the darkness on the south wall. More dark.
Timekeeping: Floon is found, and Ilena creeps forward : 36 seconds have passed

Hildigrim is having a heck of a time getting his waterskin closed up again. He finally succeeds and gives a little self-congratulatory cheer. Looking around, he sees Floon being talked to and hurries over. "You're Floon? Wonderful! We can head back then, can't we? Master Volo has been worried sick."
"Do you have any water?" he asks Hildigrim hopefully, seeing him with a waterskin. "Volo is looking for me? Is he here?" he looks past you all and sees Pascal. "Ahhh!"

Jorin pulls out his waterskin which is full of...4
ale...and hands it to Floon, "Here, drink this. Do not worry about our large, reptile friend. He is quite trustworthy." A flicker of guilt passes over Jorin's face, but is quickly gone. "Come, let us get you back to where you belong." He looks at the various injuries of the party, "We could all use a rest."
(starts pushing Fluegelhorn north, away from the enlarging portal) "Rest after we get out. Like, right away. We don't want to be here if tentacle-face comes back with more friends."
(to the whole group) "We could try one of the doors to the east, but I suggest we backtrack out of the sewers."

Ilena lets out an audible groan but plods along after Drusk, stomping her still soiled boots along leaving disgusting footprints behind as the sewage squelches out from between the treads of her soles.
"You guys don't smell good," Floon says, exhausted, starving, and dehydrated, after draining Jorin's ale.
OOC > I'm going to wait until Hildi checks in before walking you all out of the sewers. After all, someone might want to search the room/doors/curtains/chair/other room/other possible doors, etc. I'm cool if you don't, of course.

"Aye, back the way we came sounds good." Jorin draws both axes and prepares to lead the way back out towards the sewer. He turns back to the group saying, "Oh, we could, uh, exit the sewer at the hole under that inn. Could maybe get a bite to eat while we do so?" He turns to Ilena in particular and adds, "It would get us out of the sewer a little sooner."
Pascal blinks as the word of god seems to settle over the room, “Don’t y’all feel like we should search the room? I feel like... some... weird... rabbit shaped omnipotent deity is telling us we should wait.”
