Results of round 1

• Hildigrim has maintained his mental link with Volo, so he is currently out to lunch. (OOC: I am thinking of the 1980 film "Altered States", when any of the characters are stunned by what is going on.) Volo will fly to the ceiling, instead of staying near the ground (where he might be attacked or breathed on).
• Drusk (20) moves slightly closer, Dodges, and summons his Spiritual Weapon (smiley face bowling ball) to whack the bed-dragon (crit for 9 damage)
• Jorin (19) is just able to run into the waiting room. He rages and strikes, but is unable to strike the bed-dragon (11 to hit)
• Bed-dragon (12) bites at Jorin (25 to hit) for 16 piercing damage, reduced to 8 by his rage.
• Pascal (11) uses his full movement to see into the waiting room, and is just within range to cast the Reduce spell. (CON save: 23 ) The polymorphed bed twitches, but is able to resist the spell.
• Quillary (10) moves and Dashes to make it into the middle platform. She is 10' from Pascal, but unable to see Jorin or the enemies this round.
• Noke (9) was going to use Ray of Frost on Quillary, but she ran out of sight before he finished casting. He switches at the last moment to Drusk, which causes him to miss (1 on the d20).

Start of round 2

The bed-dragon-wyrmling has taken 9 damage. (Still plenty of health left, but headboard on the bed is definitely dinged.)

DBW resisted being reduced. Noke is still riding it. Volo is up at the ceiling (in hiding).

Everyone can post.  (Don't forget to roll initiative, and an extra d20 in case I need it...  All members of the party except Drusk have Inspiration. Those will expire when the adventure is over. The party might want to save one in case of emergency, but don't forget to use them.)

Jorin takes the bed dragon's bite on the arm and returns with two blade swings!

Hildigrim comes out of his awe-inspired stupor and hops to it, hurrying into the building, self-soothing by telling himself that it's OK — that his friends are more important.

Once he sees Jorin in melee with the construct, Hildi will send Volo to help by dive bombing the bed dragon.

(OOC: I think Jorin wanted to be Reckless this round to get advantage on both his attacks. Hildigrim can have Volo help out Quillary this round, if she decides to melee attack.)

Drusk will have the spiritual weapon bonk the bed dragon again (bonus action). Sacred Flame as an action. Then he will move 10' to the base of the platform, and climb 10' (halfway up) towards the breached wall.

Pascal and Quillary to go.

Quillary will run into the room, tapping her club on the cat skull on the way, her shield up! She would like to go to the position south of Jorin, if diagonal movement gets her there, or otherwise she will go north of him and try to reach over the little table to hit the bedding-dragon.

Move: 30' to the bed dragon wyrmling.
Bonus Action: cast Shillelagh
Action: Bop the dragon on the nose (or somewhere else), 19 to hit, for 5 magical bludgeoning damage
Reaction: She is saving her reaction for Absorb Elements with a 3rd level spell slot in case Noke or the dragonling use an elemental spell or weapon on her

Results for round 2:

• Pascal (21) notices that Noke is starting to cast Haste on the bed dragon, and decides to intervene. He puts Hold Person on Noke, who is paralyzed (WIS save 8, fail)
• Hildigrim (16) uses his movement and BA dash to get a good angle on the bed dragon. He shoots with his bow, hitting (18) for 15 damage total. He has Volo give Help to Quillary
• Drusk (16) is ineffective with the Sacred Flame (dragon DEX save 19). The Spiritual Weapon crits for 8 damage to the dragon.
• Quillary (7) moves south of Jorin. She would have missed (13), but Volo's fly-by allows her to get a critical hit for 12 damage with her shillelagh.
• Jorin (6) goes reckless. Crits with his hand-crafted battle axe, doing 22 magic+radiant damage. Follows that with a slice of the moon blade (27) for another 16 damage. (Jorin likes that giant strength belt.)
• Noke (6) is unable to Haste his creation, due to paralysis. And he fails to break the spell (end-of-turn WIS save 10).
• Bed Dragon (3) unleashes a spray of wood splinters from its mouth in a 15' cone for 23 piercing damage. (Pascal and Hildigrim are far enough away that they find cover from the splinters.)
  • Quillary uses her magic cloak like a shield to avoid the worst of it (DEX save 18), taking 11 damage.
  • Jorin is at ground zero (DEX save 6, fail), but his Danger Sense and reflexes (DEX save 19) has him pulling Neo-Matrix moves. After rage resistance, he takes 5 damage.

Start of round 3:

Noke is held. The bed dragon has single-digit hp left. (Someone should decide to hit it, before its initiative.)

Jorin and Quillary got hit with the breath weapon, but are in good shape.

(I don't think a new map is needed.) Everyone post their round 3 action. Include an init roll.

Bummer.

Hildigrim tells Volo to distract the dragon while he fires another arrow at it and then lets another arrow fly. Following that, he yells something helpful to the friend who acts right after him.

Pascal is going to try to position himself to catch Noke when he plummets like a rock.

Drusk will continue climbing up the outside wall, to reach the reading room of the middle platform.

If he goes before the dragon, hit it with the mace and the spiritual weapon. If he goes after Hildigrim, take the wand out of Noke's hands and start tying him up.

Init: 17 (I just realized, there is no way for Drusk to beat a 21.)

Quillary initiative: 21

Oh, so close.

So, after the dragon does what it does, Quillary will whack it on the head, if it is still within range.

Action: Attack dragon with magic club. 27 to hit, for 13 magical bludgeoning damage.

(I'll roll for Jorin... I realize now that Pascal's Hold Person is going to change what was planned to happen next.)  Init: 12

The breath of the bed dragon does not recharge, so it bites at Jorin.  Attack: 19 Damage: 15  Jorin barely notices the 4 points of damage.

Quillary, Jorin, and Hildigrim take turns bashing the bed dragon. At some point, the dragon turns back into a regular bed, the polymorph spell wearing off, but they continue crushing it into kindling.

Pascal and Drusk deprive Noke of the wand and his spell focus. His hands and arms are bound, so he is helpless when the Hold Person spell wears off.

Noke the prisoner glares at your party, feeling that his treatment is unfair.

You can hear angry sheep baaing outside. Finethir Shinebright approached the platforms when the fighting is over. He is now kicking the (unconscious) ape, bear, and lion, and urinating on the tiger's face.

Pascal and Hildigrim have the wand. It is in bad shape: cracked along the length, burned, held together by resin and some thin rune-covered iron bands
