Hobbie moves to his NE to be able to reach Bugman. Quillary has already used her reaction (no AoO), but Drusk gets to make a mace attack. Attack: 12 Damage: 8  (misses)

Hobbie reaches out to Bugman, and uses Revivify to bring Bugman back to 1 HP!

Hobbie starts crying. At first you think it is in joy, but then you see that he is looking at diamonds in his hand worth 300 GP, which are consumed by the spell.

Initiative order: Pascal, (Bugman, Sneaky,) Hildigrim, Jorin, Drusk, Quillary, (Raven, Hobbie)

Bugman has come back to life with 1 hp and is prone. Hobbie has taken 99 damage (hurting), Sneaky 44 (under half left), and Raven is dying. The courier has taken 28 damage (under half).

Party HP levels: Drusk (43/52), Hildigrim (42/64), Jorin (45/72), Pascal (25/58), Quillary (21/45 with 28 temp hp).

Pascal is up. (Be sure to add a little roleplaying fun, since the last time he looked, Sneaky was on the other side of that door instead of Quillary.)

Pascal pops back in, “NOW YA GONNA GET I- Wait... Quil? YOU WERE SNEAKY THE WHOLE TIME!?”

Pascal is shocked and wounded by the betrayal. However. He is a forgiving lizard. Therefore! He will shoot a firebolt at Hobbie, “Bang.” Attack: 9 Damage: 13 fire damage!

(OOC: Just for a moment, I thought Quillary's zombie spores was going to foil my plan. Fortunately, she thought, "eh, he is dead anyways.")

Pascal's firebolt deflects off of Hobbie's armor.

Bugman rises to his feet. Seeing Raven on the ground, the bugbear scowls at the party. "You... FIENDS! You would strike down a young bugbear, who was only trying to kill a courier and the rest of you? I will avenge you, my faithful ward!" Bugman reaches into his utility belt, takes a swig of Bug-healing juice ( 8 ), and makes a single attack at Jorin.

• Attack: 10 Damage: 6  (miss)

Sneaky will also make 3 attacks on Jorin

• Attack: 18 Damage: 8  (hit)
• Attack: 25 Damage: 9  (hit)

(Bugman now has 9 HP. Jorin is down to 27 HP, after rage-resistance.)

Hildigrim, Jorin, Drusk, Quillary are up. (Drusk will yell out, "Hildi, Jorin will make the most out of any help you give.")

"Lie. Back. Down!" Quillary brings the full force of all the things on Bugman.

Move: no move, she is frustrated by Bugman
Bonus Action: Did she already cast Shillelagh? I can't remember. She does it again, for fun.
Action: She will try to pound on Bugman with her club and her enhanced spores extra damage. 23 to hit, for 6 magical bludgeoning damage, plus 2 poison damage (from Symbiotic Entity spores)
Reaction: Her spores swarm Bugman. 4 necrotic damage when he starts his turn, or no damage on Con Save vs DC 15.

Edit: man, them is some bad damage rolls.

Jorin would like it if Hobbie died, and so he strikes first at Hobbie and if Hobbie drops, he'll strike at Sneaky.

Hildigrim pauses in the bedroom as he hears Drusk yelling at him. Once the yelling concludes, the halfling pops out of the bedroom and fires another arrow at Hobbie (or Sneaky if Hobbie is down).

Hildi opens his mouth to yell something to Jorin as Drusk suggested, but sees the human doing a fine job of slicing and dicing, so yells at Jorin again, "I think he's doing fine!" Then proceeds to yell something helpful to the half-orc before ducking back into the bedroom.

(I'm going to roll Bugman's CON save now: 23   No spore damage)

Jorin's first blow does 20 damage. Hobbie's armor has resisted a bunch of recent attacks, but now the plate armor cracks under the axe strike, and Hobbie goes down. Jorin spins around, and slices Sneaky with the axe and sword for another 16 damage. (Uncanny Dodge on Jorin's first hit reduces the damage by 5.)

Drusk will Help out Hildigrim with his arrow shot (since sneak attack does a lot more than a mace hit). Sneaky is on guard for the half-orc, and is caught by the halfling's arrow (17 to hit, 23 damage).  This is just enough for Sneaky to fall over dead.

Only Bugman is left standing, at 1 HP. (He had 9, and Quillary's shillelagh did 8 damage.)

Pascal is up. (Bugman has AC 16. If the dark knight is still standing, he gets some attacks, and then Quillary can try to end him.)

Pascal will snap his fingers, “Best sit down, son. You about to catch a deathly cold.”

Pascal spits a Ray of Frost toward Bugman. 7

Hildigrim pops out of the bedroom, ready to shoot another arrow, but holds as he sees all four targets down. "OK," the halfling says to his party, lowing his bow. "Primary matters primary. I'd be most grateful if everyone would recover as many arrows as they can find." He looks back into the bedroom at the courier, giving the drow a polite if hurried smile. "Pardon me, but you're going to need to accompany us. We have some queries, and, as you have witnessed, we're a rather insistent bunch."

Jorin catches his breath and puts his weapons back to their place on his hip.  He laughs at Hildigrim's joke, "Insistent indeed, ha!  I'll get your arrows, Hildi."

Jorin will take a brief moment to toss the bodies and collect Hildigrim's arrows.

Quillary will join Pascal, using Druidcraft to “snuff out a small campfire” worth of fire every six seconds.

(I was trying to hustle the group out of the abandoned house, but Pascal and Quillary get the fire under control.

The kitchen has a basin, but no running water. Drusk can use Create Water to make 10 gallons of water, but he’d want to know why he is spending a 1st level slot.

Hildigrim recovers some of his arrows. 2 cannot be salvaged.)

Seeing the courier up close, it is not a Drow elf, but a nimblewright. (A humanoid construct, kind of like Pinocchio or a magical robot. That explains its high AC and resistance to non-magic weapons.) The clothing and body shape are Drow, so from a distance it could be confused for an elf.

Nimblewrights are normally mute, but this one has copied voices like a Kenku. You hear a scratching noise (like a phonograph needle on a record), then a boisterous human voice: “Thanks, buddy!”

OOC: I was thinking to leave water running to douse the flames as they left, but it appears Pascal and Quillary have that managed.

Accepting the arrows Jorin salvaged, Hildigrm shoves them back into his quiver and makes a motion with his head toward one of the side doors. "It would behoove us to make haste. We can talk elsewhere."

The nimblewright grabs Hildigrim's arm before he can start moving for a side door. With Jorin starting to raise his axe, the construct cowers, to show it is not attacking.

(another recorded voice, with a Drow accent) "Your name is Bhinros." (The nimblewright points to its own chest.)

Still holding onto Hildi's arm, it gently pulls him to Bugman's body. With its free hand, it points at a necklace around the Bugbear's neck. It is adorned with a pendant with a circle with ten short, equidistant spokes radiating outward from it. (the voice is now Hobbie) "You see this medallion? It means do what we tell you, or you get in trouble with the Guild." After that, Bhinros gestures at the other 3 dead bodies.

Finally, it points at Bugman's utility belt. There is an intact vial, with fluid inside. (voice of that bugbear) "I am vengeance. I am the night. I... am... Bugman!"  (The fluid in the vial is different than the Bugman-healing-juice.)
