Dathyra cries out and Merric rushes to her aid. Suddenly lamenting that he had been having fun at her expense earlier in the day. This was not fun now. He swings his sword but it is deflected off of Gessup's armor. With the motion of his follow he pivots and with a lightening quick backhanded strike, buries his dagger just below the armor. He rakes the dagger across bone as he pulls it free. Gessup, all thoughts of vengeance gone, tries to keep his insides inside. He crumples face first into the ground, all of his thoughts gone.
(Sorry for the rushed post. Working on school hard this week. Have a certification test Thursday.)
Upon seeing Mattis rush him, Sen drops his crossbow and unsheaths two daggers from his belt. "You should have walked when you had the chance." Sen attempts to plunge both daggers into the gut of Mattis.
Mattis is unable to recover from his dash at Sen in time to avoid all of the strikes. He takes a dagger across his shoulder. The blood starting to flow down his arm. Mattis manages to avoid two more dagger attacks from Sen.

Harivaldr gave a grim nod as Gessup crumpled to the ground before him. It was a tragedy that the lad's life had to end this way, but the skald knew better than to lament his passing now. They were all still in danger, and though Sen seemed to be doing an excellent job at holding Mattis at bay, that left two bounty hunters free to fire on the rest of them. Hefting his longsword, Harivaldr began to run towards Ethan, shouting magically enhanced insults as he went. "You couldn't hit the broad side of my ass if you jammed your crossbow between the cheeks!"

Harivaldr has no time for tears for the fallen. He quickly surveys the battlefield. H sees that Sen seems to have Mattis in hand. The ranged attackers could be their biggest threat! He charges toward Ethan (i7) hurling insults as he goes.

proving that it is not just sticks and stones-- words can hurt too! Ethan's cheeks turn bright red in embarrassment. He also seems seized by pain for a moment but determined.
Mattis is engaged in melee with Sen and he feels that things should be going better, but that hasn't quite been case. He's just gotten stabbed by Sen. He now gathers himself and brings his sword down overhead, hoping to cleave the half elf.

Merric was a blur of action as he came to Dathyra's rescue. She was desperately trying to find some way to fight back while still keeping pressure on her wound when he seized Gessup and stabbed him. She still wasn't quite used to watching another die right in front of her, but in this case, it very easily could have been her face down on the ground instead of the other way around. She was grateful for someone as fast as Merric.
By now, the pain had eased back into a dull, throbbing soreness. She looked to see if she could assess the damage. It was hard to tell for sure. Her robes were bloodied a little, and the tear was small, but from what she could see, the wound was small too. He had only stabbed her and not dragged it, causing a bigger cut. She could probably fix something like this easily with a few stitches and a quick spell to speed up the healing process. Then again, she would probably have to settle for the spell. It was on her left side, and not at a good angle for her to fix it herself. And she was going to hazard a guess that none of her companions had really done that much in the way of needlework. Well, maybe Phyllis, given her background, but Dathyra doubted that she had done it with a thicker needle on flesh, and probably wouldn't be keen on starting anytime soon.
She would have to worry about that later, though. They were all still very much in danger. And the other two bounty hunters were starting to get closer while one still fought with Sen. Still keeping one hand over her injury, she used the other to cast a spell to take care of the two men just ahead.
"Fea tinco!"
Okay, hopefully, I've done the math right. Also, it says that this spell is a "bonus action," but after reading what they have written for it in the spellbook on here, it sounds like I use it once for a regular action and then can make it hit again for the bonus. But, correct me if I'm wrong on this.
Dathyra casts Spiritual Weapon. It should appear in front of Ethan (E7). It takes the form of a mace and swings at the bounty hunter.
Attack: 23
Damage (if hits): 6
Bonus Action: The weapon floats 20ft to the side of Daryl (F4) and strikes.
Attack: 8

Dathyra creates 'mace' out divine energy. It materializes next to a very surprised Ethan. He looks up in time to see it smack into his shoulder and cries out in shock. He sees that Gessup has fallen. He looks over at Daryl and sees that he is still standing and fighting.
Durven calmly takes out another bolt from his case, which he remembered this time, and loads it while choosing his target. He decides to focus on the ranged attackers and aims at Daryl as he seems a bit more bloodied than Ethan.
attack 12 damage 4
It goes wide this time, and Durven shakes his head and curses mildly.
The sight of the red-head crumpling to the ground lifelessly curried no sympathy from the wizard. A fool to not heed the warning beforehand, no matter what his personal qualms may be. If he was more clever, he could have been alive. Stay away from the roads to avoid trouble or competition, and steal the quarry off into the night. Alas, as Phyllis gaze had been on Dathyra ever since she cried out in pain, vengeance was a vicious beast that won't listen to reason, desiring only to destroy. Even if it brings the destruction to oneself.
Her gaze flicked back to the road, the overwhelming sense of deja'vu washing over her. She already knew what was going to happen next.
Stalking back on the road (G8?), eyes fixed on Ethan, mouth already forming the chant that she knew would strike him true, she pointed her wicked wand at him as blue energy crackles from the tip and shoots at the bounty hunter.
Phyllis will cast a nasty Witch Bolt at 3rd level at Ethan, spending the 13 from her portent pool for the attack roll. 13+7=20, Damage: 12
Also, will be giving Ethan that 4 from her portent pool for any attack he may make on his turn. If he doesn't attack though the 4 will go back into the portent pool.

A beam of sparkling blue energy races from Phyllis to Ethan, enveloping him in a sustained arc of lightning. He cries out and his muscles lock up under the electrical charge. He falls to the ground in spasms.
Daryl has been watching his brother take the brunt of the magical damage. A glowing mace was still floating in the air beside him and Ethan was enveloped in crackling energy. He drops his crossbow and races over to Ethan to help him. "C'mon Ethan. We're out of here. This is crazy! Screw Mattis, he's on his own."
Daryl tries to help Ethan to his feet. [con save 10 ] [he suffers half damage 6].
A quick survey of the battlefield had Merric thinking the battle almost won with the remaining threat looking to be Mattis, who had just missed Sen with a wicked overhead cleaving swing.
Not sure if Mattis would flee or fight once he saw his companions running off (and also wondering if that pouch on his belt held any of the 900gp that was offered for the snake headed lady), Merric slipped up behind Mattis and placed the point of his short sword at his back.
In his deepest, most cold and chilling voice (by halfling standards) imaginable, he says "Cuz o' the kind hearted soul I is, youz better drops yer weapon and gives up or I skewer you good..."
Readied action: If Mattis doesn't drop his weapon and give up, he get's a short sword skewering...
Rolling in advance just in case: Attack: 24 Damage: 17
Intimidation: 3
Realizing his voice cracked slightly (hooray for halfling luck!!) Merric hopefully thinks Mattis takes it for a serious threat instead of uncertaintly as he would rather cut his purse strings more than cut out his kidney!
Mattis tries a backhand swipe but he's aiming too high. Merric is true to his word and skewers him real good. Another wound in the other leg. He is soaked in blood from the waist down. He drops to one knee because of the wound. He struggles to get up to meet Sen's attack.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sen has to go with another dagger attack. This guy will not learn..... The halfling tried with him. Sen tries to finish off Mattis as all his backup has left him to absorb the punishment he brought upon himself.
Sen lunges in with his dagger just as Mattis turns back to face him. The razor sharp blade cuts cleanly across the throat. A moment of confusion crosses Mattis' face, 'why is his body not responding? His answer is a face full of dirt. Sen and Merric sort of shrug to each other in a "we did everything we could' sort of way.
Harivaldr hissed and cursed in pain as the crossbow bolt grazed his leg. The wound was superficial, he knew, but it still stung something fierce. He was getting ready to unleash more havoc onto the boy who'd shot him when he saw a bolt of crackling energy from Phyllis strike him, and leave him spasming on the ground. The other lad ran over to help him, and the two were both being shocked by whatever the human mage had zapped him with. They were clearly getting ready to run, so that just left...
Mattis hit the ground a moment later, blood gushing from multiple wounds on his person. Harivaldr nodded to himself, the day was won. He stood watching the remaining two as they struggled to run, and he kept a few choice spell words in mind as he shouted out to the rest of the group. "Is everyone alright? All of our limbs accounted for?" By the look of things, they'd come out of the fight remarkably unscathed, with a few exceptions. "Dathyra, how're you holding up? That stab looked like it hurt."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Not sure if Daryl and Ethan still have a turn since they're attempting to run away. If so, I'm pretty sure this post won't change much, but let me know if I need to edit or delete.
Dathyra finally stood, wincing a little as the sudden movement pulled the skin she was still holding. She murmured a quick healing spell as her fingers lightly touched the broken skin beneath her torn cloak.
Quickly, her injury was mended, leaving only a small mark to indicate anything had happened to her. It would probably go away in a couple of days, not like her older scar from years ago. Satisfied with her quick work, she answered, "Nothing lethal, just got me by surprise. I'll live. But, what about your leg? We're lucky we didn't get hit with more of those."
Sen squats down to the fallen raider. Sen will wipe off his daggers on the least bloody clothing of Mattis. The daggers are replaced and Sen will recover his crossbow from the ground Sen reattachs the crossbow to the hook on his belt before searching Mattis for all this supposed coin. Sen without looking up will talk with Merric. "Well you tried, but he wasn't listening. I'm still curious what those two are wanted for that a whole party of raiders was willing to die over it." After pulling all the good from Mattis, Sen will stand back up. "You did good kid." He will look over at the other to assess injuries. Sen can't do much about it, he is just hoping no one has been taken out.
Phyllis released her concentration on the spell when the two of them began to flee. She had no desire to chase them and less to expend the effort. Instead she dusts herself off out of habit before walkimg back to the cart and the group.
A hint of relief sparks in her as she sees no one had been seriously injured, but it was short lived as anger boils in her as she stomps to the two hooded women at the cart.
As much as she wants to, Phyllis does not grab at them, instead standing close enough to smell the miles they must have travelled on their clothes. Through clenched teeth she hisses out, "Do not dare think for a moment that this was protection out of the kindness of our hearts. They attacked because of you," she spat the last word out as if it tasted of venom, "and we simply repaid them in kind."
She turns and marches away, a sharp whistle to signal Nyxtra back to her shoulder as she took her previous spot on the cart.
The afternoon seems to turn peaceful again. The wind and the trees and the hills having taken no notice of the violence. A quick search of the two bodies reveals basic equipment and two bags of coins, totaling 250 gold.
Durven helps Lara up from under the wagon. She tries to press a bag of gold into his hands but he refuses. "You may need it before you reach your sanctuary. Head to the ruins. I will bring supplies on my way back if you are still there. It is not safe for you to travel on the roads." She nods in understanding. They continue in the direction they were travelling, this time off the road.
He takes a shovel from the wagon and approaches the two bodies. He looks to Dathyra a moment if she wishes to say or do anything. He notices that she looks to have been injured during the fight, though her wound looks healed the leather armor she wears is stained with blood on her side. He will set about making two shallow graves.
He gets the horses ready and after a short rest if needed, will suggest they continue on.
