"Yes, they were a little too aggressive. They can sense our numbers, they are Ankheg. What made them so brazen, I wonder?" She smiles at you before continuing, "they also seemed to attack from the front. Ankheg's always burrow up for attacks. They're not intelligent, but they do have a pattern for hunting. Very peculiar."
Kash comes over and hands off a handful of earthen colored crystals, Eberron Dragonshards! Eberron Dragonshards, though the most common Dragonshards found across Eberron are still a rarity. The LT's eyes widen.
She will examine them and hope off of her mastiff. She walks over to the dead Ankheg and looks it over.
"Hmm." She holds out her small hand and says, "Sarge, the big glass, please. Also, mark this location on the map, Sylrie."
Sarge rides over and hands her the big glass, a circular lens on a small wooden shaft. She puts it up to her eye and looks over the body of the creature. "Interesting, there are tiny slivers seeming growing out of this body. Interesting."
She straightens up and hops back onto Ringo, her grey and black mastiff. "We need to move out, this here needs to be reported to the Garrison commander. If there is a dragonshard deposit nearby, that could be helpful to those in Arcanix defended the motherland. Sylrie, as you were."

Sylrie took mental notes of the LT's insights, he felt like there was definitely more to this than what it seemed.
With the LT's orders Sylrie quickly took the map from it's case on the side of his mount and then pulled a quill from his pack, what he wouldn't do for the ability to write without physical instrument, he quickly marked the approximate location on the map and then replaced it back in it's case.
After she had wrapped up her investigation, and then gave the signal to press on Sylrie snapped to, "Right, everyone back in formation lets make for the creek" He then spurred Aurala's Pride forward with his heels until she reached a gallop at the head of the formation.
Okay, Sylrie, one more Survival check. You have Advantage for using the map.
The group is staying in its current formation, yes?

She will guide Mustard back into formation, at the back next to Sarge. "Thank you for the assist, sir, you and the unit. I was not looking forward to facing it straight up. We do not see those in the Starpeaks, perhaps the roots of the mountains are too rocky."

Syl starts leading the group forward, after pulling out the map and checking it you think that you know of a way to get to Stickler's Creek faster. Without saying a word, instead of going through the hills in the forest you follow a small stream that completely skirts it. With an hour left, you come from the south side of the area where you should make camp.
"Nice work, Sylrie. Very impressive." The LT dismounts and takes off her riding gloves. "Alright, make camp Greywind. We're an hour ahead of schedule, I want the horses brushed, the fire made and I want everything orderly. We're in the Queen's army. Just because we're in the wilds doesn't mean we can't be civilized!" She starts setting up her tent, and the Sarge sets his up next to hers.
As you look around the clearing, you see there is a large area where a fire pit is, with old burnt logs from hundreds of campfires past. The trees and their branches are all cleared away and leave a forest ceiling that is about twenty feet high in this 100-foot camp. Stickler's Creek is to the west, it winds around a bend and could almost be called a river. It is running high, as it usually is during the early summer months.
But the most conspicuous thing about this site is a stone structure, about 15-feet tall and around 7 feet to a side. This rectangular structure has carvings on it, starting at the bottom, and an impressively built wooden ladder leaned next to it.

Is there wood near (or in) the firepit or do we need to go out collecting some
You see that the logs that are in the pit have been burnt and put out, they would burn, but you will need to collect more to make it a meaningful and longlasting fire. The ones in the pit are too large to start a fire with.

The Nieber Sandstone, a structure that is maintained by the ghosts of soldiering past. Those who train at Faderock make the pilgrimage here before going into battle. Most commanders do not tell their charges about coming here, for that is a part of the rite of passage. Generations of soldiers names can be found on this rock, and every time an Aundarian soldier dies in battle, at night his name glows softly for eternity on this rock.

Sylrie is proud his shortcut work but he keeps his calm demeanor as the LT addresses him giving a quick, "Thank you sir" as her compliment. He then dismounts and ties Aurala's Pride off to a nearby fallen tree and begins to break down her saddle and bags so she can be brushed properly.
After getting the saddle stowed on the log, Sylrie pulls out the wooden brush from his saddle bag and begins pushing it along the chocolate hair of Aurala's Pride's back. "Good girl, we'll get you some oats shortly girl." His eyes however begin to peel away from what he's doing, looking over his horse to the stone statue. "It's probably just a waystone" he said to his horse who gave a simple whinny in response. "Probably nothing to be worried about at all..."
She will set up the picket line (though everyone can sort their own horses), tend to Mustard, then go about setting up camp. Latrine digging, tent setting (remember, she called not sleeping with cheesy Kashkaval!), and then a quick perimeter sweep of the clearing to make sure the underbrush is still cleared away. Finally, she'll engage in whatever tasks are still left.
