OOC: Each character has received 50 XP for the second social encounter.
As Rycider approaches the door on the first floor, with Aradurk and Wes eyeing the situation, the wall becomes translucent, showing a lone orc cautiously approaching. The orc's eyes widen with shock at Rycider's outburst. He nods, placing the gold into a pocket, and turns to walk away. However, his hand exits the pocket with a red stone, and he shouts, "Armiyaga olib borag. Minora oldi!" and starts to flee.
Meanwhile, smoke begins to once again pour from the sixth floor window as Tanakir catches the curtains aflame once more.

Wes plans on preparing a [Tooltip Not Found] for when a group of orcs come through and enter the first floor. Waiting for them to bottleneck and get optimum amount of targets hit.
Trying to find a place to hide with a good vantage point (I would think the stairs)
Hearing Aradurk over the green stone, Tanakir curses and tosses the flaming curtain out the window before heading to the elevator to reconvene with the group.
”Hope this is what you want, millord, because I’m going to have to be really nasty really quick.”
Speaking into the green stone, “Anyone know of a good back door? Otherwise we’re going to have to make an awful mess of this place.”
Sorry Lads, it was a longshot but we're broken. Good luck. Ricky says to the sending stone.
She makes haste to her carpetbag. She gets out her disguise kit and starts making herself look like one of the citizens that may reside outside the tower. The Dulcimer is too much and she will toss it into a box. She will then look for rope and a way out of this tower.
The orc continues its flight from the tower as the party begins to prepare. Wes doesn't find anything to hide behind, or any vantage point beside the large entryway that the front door funnels into. Tanakir tosses the flaming curtain out of the window, and Aradurk reaches the second floor, entering a quadrant of the circular tower, where a tub of water sits in one corner and clean clothing hangs along the wall next to another door. Rycider disguises herself and spends some time searching for an exit, but it seems the front door is the only path in or out of the tower.
"No, stay on course. They said to call 'the army'. Unless you see that patrol of a couple dozen orcs filing in, we have nothing to worry about yet; it could take hours to bring any outside forces to the tower, and unless they're bringing the wizard himself, we have the only key in. I'm making better progress than I thought on cracking this vault. Stick to the plan," Fumbles reassures Karst over the green sending stones.
Before long, the red sending stones light up again. The same high-pitched voice you heard alerting the orcs begins rambling, "You don't even know who you're working for, do you? Have you been in the cellar? You should definitely check it out. The vault is just another lie. There's nothing in there - well, nothing you want."
The door leads to a ring of alchemical labs. Whatever project these labs divided before, the work stations have been cleared of everything except plain rings, iron ore, and jars of a silvery powder.
The voice continues babbling through the red sending stones, interrupting any silence or planning. "When I was a child, I was found on the Iron Route. My parents were missing. I don't remember it; I had been out there a while. But even then, I was less a babe in the woods than you! You'll never win as long as you have some misguided code to follow. You've seen the floating tower; think that's maybe a little ominous?"
OOC: This is the third "social encounter" of the adventure. How does each character feel about the situation and respond to the threat of the orcs, in either first or third person?
“Well This has gone to the hells in a hand basket real quick, don’t you think Petunia?” Wes talking aloud to his furry companion. “Though I suppose we are above our heads for the moment... too late to turn back now. We need to stay here and take as many out as we can to give the others time.” Wes crouches down and begins to pet the back of the ears of his weasel. “Don’t you go thinking that! Of course we will make it out of here” Petunia stands on her back two legs, pawing at Wes. “No I don’t know that for sure.” He says defeatedly
Wes speaks into the green stone “Well I don’t know what you got planned, but I’m going to light up the first group that comes through this door.... unless we got a back way out of this, we need to get this done double time.”
Aradurk snatches up one of each and puts them in his pack.
His interest picqued, Aradurk replies in Common, “What do you know of the floating castle?”
He walks out of the lab and returns to the stair well and states, “Cellar” and into the green crystal declares, “Heading downstairs to see what the attraction is - if anyone is down, meet me there.”

OOC: Wes, Aradurk, Tanakir, Zikahl and Rycider have earned 50 XP for participating in the social encounter.
Wes watches out the front door, which still looks translucent from the entryway. True to Fumbles' word, it doesn't seem that the patrol of orcs outside of the tower is interested in making a charge by themselves. Nothing has come toward the door since the orc scout fled.
Aradurk, Tanakir, Zikahl and Rycider each try to reach the cellar. However, once stating their floor and descending the stairs, they each end up back on the same floor they came from.
The same voice continues to jabber through the red sending stones, "After I was found I was dropped off at a neato prison where the Grimshackle Brothers took me in; they were super nice people. Maybe I'll take you and brick you up in the basement there. One day, I met Ser Mary and together we defeated a minotaur pirate. Those were the good days."
For Wes:
You hear the final part of the voice's statement in stereo, from both the sending stone and behind you. "...defeated a minotaur pirate. Those were the good days."
A halfling man descends the staircase in the center of the floor as he finishes his statement, outfitted in very fine studded leather and a magnificent cloak. A buckler is strapped to one arm, and a sword is sheathed at his hip. He stops his talking, looks at you, and grins.
Initiative: Halfling: 18 Wes: 14
Rapier vs. Wes: 31 Rapier vs. Wes: 24
The halfling draws the most exquisite rapier you have ever set eyes upon; flawless in its design, it seems to bend with the light in the room, making it nearly impossible to see. He is on you in a flash, and you feel the strikes from his rapier before you even see it, taking 17 and 13 piercing damage. As you stagger back from the sudden pain, trying to formulate a defense, the hilt of his rapier meets your face, rocking you unconscious.
OOC: You are unconscious but stable. No need to make any death saving throws.
You ascend the stairs and arrive on the seventh floor to see Fumbles still hard at work on the vault.
"I should be done within the next couple of hours. Is everything still secure?" he asks.
"Ser Mary promised to find my parents and told me being a paladin was my destiny and the only way to save them. But she lied to me. She let Denorian kill my parents and used me; just like she is using you," the voice prattles into the sending stones. Apparently having said everything he wanted to, the red sending stones finally fall silent.
OOC: Is there anything else than any of the characters want to do to prepare?

To Aradurk, "I'll go down with you, we shouldn't take too long, I do not trust the things that man says."
Hearing that the others are going to the cellar, Zikahl goes with them. "Cellar," he said to the stairs before descending down to meet the others.
Looking around at her situation Rycider chides herself. Always have an exit strategy. Always.
