Retiog stops and glares at the mountain. After a moment of thought he finally speaks up. "So, when we were in there for hours, a couple of days passed out here. Does that mean when we go back in there those drow could still be there?"
Nat see nothing that speaks to him of a doorway or means of entry. Retiog is sure the time magic regardless of the ruin will probably still be in place. The sun is setting now and the party much make camp before it is too dark to do so but where among the rocky mountain should they look?

The night passes without incident. The party awakens the next dawn to all members of the party present. The mountain still looms over them, dark and ominous.

"I admit I'd been hoping to see some sign of his passing this way. Tracking someone through a mountain doesn't sound easy, especially if we come out days later to find out we e lost a decade in there".
Duc paces around the area, scanning from higher ground to see if there is any evidence Gimble being brought this way.
"No one else disappeared in the night? Good," Retiog comments as he prepares his gear to continue into the mountain. "Let's get this over," he mutters through a mouthful of ration as he begins to the entrance to the mountain.
Duc notices a trail but it's windswept and craggy. It's possible for a body to have been moved over it but she can't see if there's tracks or any sort of indication anyone has recently been through it.
Survival check.
Retiog can see plainly the entrance is blocked with rubble from Gimble's spell that triggered the collapse that saved them yet created an avalanche of stone!

Nearing the entrance the group originally used, Retiog grunts seeing that the path is blocked by all the rubble. "That way is no good," he states plainly. He returns to their position above to hopefully scout for a new path into the mountain.
"There is a trail over there."Duc says pointing to the route she found "but it isn't clear if he went this way. In the light of no other leads we could try this way."

I'm not going back to the Order until we've found Gimble, or done everything possible to find him, says Nat. We need to find out what we can, to give a good report. And also show some degree of loyalty. What would it say about us if we abandon the guy without trying to find him?
On the other hand, this might just be another test. Maybe Gimble wants to watch us and see what we do. How we react. Do we run? Or do we report back. He shakes his head. There's no use second-guessing and third-guessing it. I say we follow as far as we can, and then we go back to report.
There is no end on the horizon to the mountain. It would take months to reach the sea on either side on foot. Over it looks dangerous but not impossible. You have no supplies however or cold weather gear the higher the mountain goes. The trail is gone the mountain is impassable from within.

"This isn't going to work, we could be chasing shadows here forever. I say we turn back, I'm not sure it's a test, but if it is then we are OK, and if not we can honestly say we tried to find him." Duc stops clearly intending to go back the way she has come" Do we all agree?"

Alici speaks, "Well if we are to make camp I don't see any good locations, but I'd be happy to help locate one following someone else's instruction."

Again, Retiog search for a suitable campsite, with the help of Alici, away from the main entrance to the mountain.

Retiog only sees the path over the mountain the same as Duc pointed out. There is no way into the mountain.

"If we've only one path to follow then the course is clear." Alici says, following the path pointed out by Duc and Retiog.

Retiog nods grimly in agreement with Duc "We don't have the equipment to make this climb."
Nat shrugs. I feel bad abandoning the guy, but you're right. So, back to the city then?
