"Here we go then!"
As his Ante, Kestrell places a gold coin on top of Kari's but on it's edge, trying to balance it on the other coin without it rolling off or falling over.
"Wyvern's? Wyvern's! It's 3 Dragon Ante you dern fool. Eryone know that." Gamin says. He walks over to the bar and grabs a deck of cards and walks back to the table. "Now we'll play a man's game." Eyeing Kari, "Go see if Eddie will spot ya a few gold and let's show this guys how to gamble." Kari hops up and goes to the bar.
The waitress blushes as she listens to the bard. ""Adelaide, sir. Adelaide Wheatflow."
As Vassa continues to flirt with the waitress she manages to walk backwards to the bar and then return with the drinks everyone.
Kari comes back to the table and tosses Gamin 3 gold, "Here's what I owed ya. Now I'm only under to Eddie, but I already owed him for some drink, ha!" As Kari sits he starts to go over the rules of the game with everyone and then throws out a gold coin for the first round.
Gamin looks to Vassa, "If your dun flirtin let's play some cards."
[OOC] This time around, rather than having the NPCs just roll a single DC, I'm going to try having NPCs make the same roles and the PCs. Let's see how that works out.
[OOC] Vassa is definitely trying to get under Gamin's skin in an attempt to put him at a disavantage, hence all the banter, table talk and flirting while they play, which will cause Vassa some delay in responding to the man's prompts. He'll pass this off with comments about being new to the game and a slow learner. Whenever he thinks the two men aren't looking, he'll throw a wink or a knowing smile Kes's way. *TBC - even though I'm proficient with the Playing Card Set, I don't get any bonus from that with this game do I? E.g I can't swap a prof skill check for the insight check?
"My apologies, Gamin. Three Dragon Aunties it is - though it's an odd name for a game, in anyone's language. So a gold piece to start? Sounds great. What's that my dear - Adelaide? Adelaide Wheatflow? Why, what a beautiful name, and apt I might add... which I will. Let me tell you about a halfling chap that I know, Adelaide, by the name of...
Sorry, what's that? Oh, yes, the game. My bad. So I just place my coin here, like such? Excellent... yes, Adelaide, my delightful little wildflower, that was 4 tankards us, love. Ales for me, Kes here and the chap with the book over there, and the mead-lite for the lady.
Sorry, what did you say? It's my turn? Oh... okay. Wait, what did I miss?"

"I was as poor as a goblin scholar until just a moment ago, my dear Asariel, but my fortunes seem to have taken a turn for the better... as they always tend to do.
Alas, I doubt that these unfortunate fellows will be able to cover what Kes and I are already putting in the pot, let alone the extra that you are so generously offering to lend me, though I do appreciate your vote of confidence in me... Hey, I know, instead of me gambling with your gold, why don't you? Gambel that is... with us... here and now. Come ONNN, it'll be fun, I promise you."

'That's the spirit, Asa! You'll not regret it... or not much, or for long, anyway... and don't pay no mind to our keeper of books over there. He wouldn't know good honest fun if it snuck up and tickled his toes with a bloodhawk's feather. No offence, Aenio!
Oh, and by the way, wizard, I've made a mental note of the stipulated terms and am counting what you said just then as an ongoing offer to lend coin as needed. Fair? Great - done!"
'Vassa says the last with a friendly wink at Asariel as he ushers who ever is sitting to his right around the table a little to make room for the tiefling sorceress to his left... if she should happen to choose so. Regardless of where she sits, he deals her in with a smile, whilst asking Gamin to explain the rules, again, to the new player.'

[OOC] Correct. This would require a different proficiency.
Once the cards are dealt everyone gets serious. Everyone except Vassa who continues to flirt. Round after round, hand after hand, Vassa continues to woo Adelaide much to the discomfort of Gamin. The gold coins find themselves traveling back and forth across the table as time wears on. Eventually, Gamin is put out. Kari, sensing where this was going tosses in his last two gold. "All in!" he claims. Asariel is already up two and see's no reason to risk it, folds. Kestrell, catches something in Kari's movement and knows the man is bluffing and quickly matches the bet, as does Vassa. When the cards are laid Kari has the lowest hand while Kestrell and Vassa tie. They happily split the pot leaving Kestrell up 2 gold and Vassa up 4 gold.
Kari looks over to Gamin and shrugs. Gamin shakes his head and the two walk back to their seats at the bar. Seeing his two best customers get such a raw deal, Eddie hands them both a mug of ale and then looks to the group, "Playing cards like that, I almost do believe you know Floon."
Aenio uses this time to try and create a spell that weakens a targets AC by the users spellcasting ability.
Would this spell be a first level, cantrip, or other?

I'd say that would be from the Transmutation school. Slow has a similar effect and that's the school it's from. Actually, if we tweak Slow we could get this:
Eddie catches the coin and nods his head in understanding. Gamin turns and stares at Kestrell for a moment and then motions you over. "'C'mere, so's there was 5 others who haven't been seen since that same night, and the group of them left shortly after Floon and that spoiled rich noble Renaer walked out. So that's 7 that left that night and haven't returned. Those last 5 were said to have worked at a warehouse on Candle Lane. Maybe that'll help. Thank ya for the drinks."
"Look for the snake symbol on the door,” says Kari raising his mug in thanks.

Winking to Asa and Kes, the latter of which seems to be having a quiet pow-wow with Gamin, the bard walks to the bar and says,'

'The half-drow smiles warmly at Adelaide, and is about to turn away from the bar and walk over to where Kestrell is standing, when he recalls something he meant to ask the barkeep,'
"Ohh, and one other thing. I heard Gamin mention something about this bar's owner - out of curiousty, who would that be?"

"if you ever need any extra gold, just ask me okay?"
"My dear, Asa, though your kind hearted generosity warms me like a roaring hearth on a blustery Northern evening, if I have a few more mornings like this, we'll be able build our own games hall... and wouldn't that be something!
Hey, Kes. Do I have a hoot of a revelation for you!"

Looking at him you would think he was staring at something in particular, in all actuality he was bored with all the talking. he wanted to start swinging. Slashing. Feel the power of his body take down another. Instead, a bunch of yak yakkers, yakking away.
Coming out of his stupor, he realized that his friends were still chit chatting and playing games. Well, this isn't what they came here for, was it?
"I'm bored with this, when does Lockbox get to do what Lockbox does. Wink wink." Locky couldn't wink, he was a Warforged. Their eyes remained open at all times. But he could let them know he was winking. He cracked his knuckles, which sounded like a log hitting a shield.
