The Mind Flayer rises from the stone chair and picks up his pet Intellect Devourer from the floor next to him. He points to the western door that Silver and Renaer stand near and you all hear a voice inside of your head, "I wish to leave through that door. If you stand aside I will take no action against you. If you try and attack me or even prevent me from leaving, I will kill you all and eat your brains."
"Someone ask Grum'shar what is going on here. Why were they interrogating Floon? And what is going on with the mind flare back there?"
Kestrell moves one spot in front of Floon and holds his bow ready but not quite aimed at the mind flayer.
[OOC] Kestrell is holding his attack until the mind flayer makes a threatening move.
Renaer moves over next to Kestrell to check on Floon, "It's a bit of a story that I'll be happy to share later. For now, can we get Floon to safety? And can any of you heal him?"

Grum'shar turns and walks back to Nihiloor. Just about the time Grum'shar gets close to him, he stops and shakes his head a few times as if trying to clear his mind. Nihiloor looks down at him, and everyone hears the following in their mind's.
"And you call yourself a wizard. You let them charm you with such a simple spell. And I had to trick you into stepping outside of it's range! Such incompetence! Xanathar will hear about this. If you wish to survive the night, you better take care of them!"
Each sentence Nihiloor spoke hit Grum'shar like a physical blow. But after the last one, the half orc turns back to the group of rescuers with eyes full of hatred. As Grum'shar steps towards the group, Nihiloor continues through the doors and out of sight.
Grum'shar steps back to the middle of the room and lifts his hands while chanting. Suddenly fire shoots from his fingers towards the party.
He casts burning hands. DC 12 dex save. 15 damage on a failed save, half on a pass. Flames will reach 1st two rows of folks, so Vassa and the mages are safe.
Lockbox is confused by the sudden turn of events. He had wanted to use his axe. He looks back to the group for advice? "Do I attack?"
