Gash casts message to Dog, "Dog, I don't know much about the warlock... do we know him to be good? A lot of warlocks I've heard of don't tend to be um well, they can be... i dont know... not the best?"
Dog messages back on the end of Gash's spell: "He kidnapped Genny and Nev. He's allied with hell, as is Aucasia. We should hear this from Nev. We could agree to take them to Nev's chosen destination and not specify that we agree to take them to Vallas."
The goliath nods at the minotaur. "I'm Dog. You probably knew that. You haven't introduced yourself. I can only speak for myself, but I intend to bring Neventi to her genuinely chosen destination. Where is she right now?"
He speaks up louder, projecting with his circus voice: "Nev, you alright? Genny's okay, and with us."
The minotaur is definitely withholding some information. His smirk indicates that he is about to reveal some of it, though.
His smirk developes into a laugh. "Dear Neventi is not here," he says. "You will see her as soon as our business is completed. And you can hear her decision for yourself...from her own lips."
The minotaur smiles broadly. "I am so glad you asked. I am here to simply procure a promise. An oath that you will take Gentoa to the place that Neventi specifies. Per the Accord we agreed upon, that will be the warlock Aucasia, as I have said."
The minotaur walks closer, but makes no move to attack. Instead, he pulls out of his satchel 6 pendants. They have on twine woven with vines and are decorated with bits of teeth and bones. A different colored gem adorns the center of each and every color is in some way unappealing, from blood red to milky yellow to a sickly green. "Your word will not be enough, however. Every bargain requires a sacrifice. This is the bargain: You may serve as the designated escort for Gentoa, vowing to do so on your honor. In return, Aucasia will remove these accursed amulets from your neck."
He pulls out one of the amulets, black thorns braided into the cord. It has a dull orange stone bordered by broken hollow bones on its pendant. "This one saps a person of their wits," he says. "Just a little. Enough that you will feel it and desire it to be removed. Each takes an amulet, clearly states your oath, and you may be on your way. Simple."
He smiles, opening his hands in a welcoming gesture.

Dog meets the minotaur's gaze.
"Did Aucasia make these pendants? Did she curse them? Where is your pendant to hold you to your end of the deal? You are asking for a great deal of faith, and the last time you crossed our path you abducted the child and mother through subterfuge. It's a simple request, to hear Neventi's unforced and sincere decision from her own mouth, and not just take your word for it. And you have been negotiating with the banners of heaven -- we should hear from them too, if this is really the deal."
(Is there a way for Dog to know whether the headbands of intellect override cursed pendants?)
Dog steps closer to Gash and puts his hand on the goblin's shoulder, giving meaningful looks to the rest of the party at the helm of teleportation.
"It seems our business is done. We will escort the child and her mother to her chosen destination. Our business, as you have stated, is completed, and now it is time for us to rejoin Neventi and be on our way. Where is she?"
The minotaur turns his head to the side in a seemingly innocuous manner. At the same time, he drops his free hand down, palm behind him, and waves away someone behind him. He then returns to plaicing both hands on his staff in a relaxed manner.
Does anything feel off, does she sound like herself, does she sound any different than normal?
(ooc: i assume with a six she sounds great to me)
Gash still staring a hole through the minotaur says quietly to the others,"It appears to be what she wants... though, I'm not keen on wearing a cursed necklace. We need to get Nev out of here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(For simplicity's sake, the initiative order will go all characters and then all opponents. The bearded devils will come out of hiding before anyone takes their action. After that, they will always go when the minotaur goes.)
Despite the minotaur's signal, two bearded devils step out from behind some topiaries depicting, ironically, angels.
Tock, anticipating someone backing up the minotaur, casts his spell as quickly as he can. The minotaur (WIS(14) check: 12) manages to resist the compelling magic. "Have it your way," he says with a snarl. "We will just have to find some more compliant escorts."
(Each square is 5'x5'. Friend is not pictured and I will assume is perched on Gash's shoulder or head. The yellow opponent is BD1 and the gray one is BD2. The purple one is the minotaur.)
Gash, Keyrie, Dog, Stones, and Bulwark may all go in any order.
"I apologize for my friend here, we have traveled with the mother and child for a long time now. Wearing a cursed item makes us all a little uneasy, would you allow us a day to think about it? We could meet here tomorrow at the same time."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
May Tock, upon seeing the spell not work, use his bonus action to direct Dog to cut off the minotaurs staff-holding arm (giving him advantage on first attack roll against the creature)? And then move back behind the pillar?

And to Gash, "Please confirm this with Neventi."
