Wow that ended quickly! Really thought with the damage it was putting out that we would be at it a lot longer. Nice fight.
Dog will congratulate everyone and then try to take stock of the masonry shop, feebly trying to clean things up a bit and also look for any papers that might shed light on what happened. Is there anything interesting to salvage from the construct? He will also report the body they’d originally found shoved under the stone, asking if that was the proprietor and if there is anyone who worked with them who might be able to answer questions about what mount have happened. He assumes Garielle somehow set things up but he isn’t sure.
He asks everyone if they want to stay in the city for a while or move along, especially Nev. How is Genny these days?
Althus runs a hand through his hair, healing himself, as the construct falls, "Well, not that I'm complaining, but that did feel a little too easy. We should come back here at a later time and fully examine this place. For now though, I think we can afford to stay in the city a little bit longer."

(Yeah, I hamstrung the Hellfire Engine a bit by not letting it run over y'all easily. I actually counted it as an easier encounter for that reason. It would have been a lot tougher if it was an open space...)
The masonry shop contains some sculptures, gravestones with nothing inscribed on them, and an empty coin box. Nothing from the constructs or armor survived the encounter. When the city watch investigate the bounty claim, they also take up investigating the body, who they suspect was an employee of the mason (who left town about a month ago.)
Gentoa and Neventi have been spending quality time together and the little girl has been clinging to her mother, understandably.
It is 2 gold per day for 4 rooms (two people per room) and another 6 gold per day for meals at the White Crane. As such, the party has already paid 24 gold for lodging and meals in Tinosa (whomever is the treasurer...note it!) and will continue to be 8 gold per day for the party...
"If we're staying for more than a month, can we rent a house long-term?" Dog asks the group, also conferring with the innkeep, or some member of the city government they've been dealing with after vanquishing two big threats in the city. "If not, we can stay in a hotel until we want to leave. If we're going to stay for a few months, we might as well be comfortable and busy. What would each of you do with a couple months?"
[If we are staying, Dog would find a room to rent near whatever passes for a library in this town and begin researching the heavens and hells, anything he can find about Marduk, giants, Aucasia, her home, and the biography of the king. He'll invite Gash to help him if he'd like to. He will also be doing a training montage to get more fit, and sparring with Tock, Bulwark, Martin, and Althus.]
Tock says, "I'm okay with staying a while. We have some funds, maybe we should think about buying instead of renting? Depends on how long we stay and if we like this place enough to come back. The good thing about staying here is that I believe we are technically still on the road and hence fairly untouchable. I hope we have cleared this place of all pre-planned hostilities and should be safe."
[Tock has downtime activities planned, but lets make a decision first]
If Nev and Genny really want to hang out for a while, Dog's good with it, assuming he found the city to be a nice place from his walk. Is there a library? Do any of the people they've dealt with at the city watch or temples seem nice and welcoming?

That seemed to be addressed to the party and not the DM...
Tock will insist on going along with all of the house shopping and if a deal is about to be reached, he'll ask Tymora for guidance by casting Augury and asking about buying this house.
At night though, Tock will disguise self as a masked human with black armor and long black cape and very sneakily patrol the seedier parts of the town. From the rooftops if possible. He watches and follows, but doesn't interfere for at least a few days.
Yeah the dialogue was - I guess I should have declared an action so it was clearer to the dm, apologies :)
What kind of city is it, compared to the others they’ve traveled through? Have the authorities been nice? Are the people welcoming? Have we heard any talk of the war in the East? Dog takes walks and tries to get a sense of things, and talks with people in taverns (though this is hard for him). He again asks Nev what her thoughts are, after a few days of staying in town, since their entire existence has been to protect them.
“I’m not sure a city with vampires and hellish golems is suited for Nev and Gen to set up a home. Such creatures would not likely have come here by chance.” Martin throws in his two copper
What kind of city is it, compared to the others they’ve traveled through?
It is smaller than Masa but more urban than most other towns, save Hencha. Tinosa clearly has benefited economically from its proximity to Masa and a lot of people come here to escape the bigger city, bringing their money with them. Tinosa is not without its destitute, but it is clearly less of a problem here than in Masa. The city itself does seem mired in bureaucracy, however, moreso than any other city the group has passed through. From claiming the bounty to reporting the slain vampire to the process of buying a house, there is a bureaucratic system for all of it.
Have the authorities been nice? Are the people welcoming?
The authorities have been...official...is the best word to describe it. They have been remarkably impartial in most things, following the letter of the bureaucracy. As such, they have been sticklers at times for how things should be done.
The citizens themselves have been friendly, especially so after the dramatic battle with the vampire, which led to a resurgence in buzz a few days later after claiming the bounty on the hellfire engine. There have been a few free drinks tossed their way and some hand-shaking and prideful stares on the street as well. The experience with the citizens of Tinosa has only been positive.
Buying a house in Tinosa is difficult because the properties for sale or rent are not publicly posted with signs. They are registered with the "Tinosa Land-Use Clerk" when they are made available for sale. A 1 sp processing fee can be paid to obtain the list from the clerk (with proper forms) or you can purchase a list for 2-5 cp from a local printer shop. How up-to-date the listings are depends on the shop, however, with the more expensive lists being a little more reliable.
You can bypass all of this by hiring an agent to make arrangements, stay on top of the available properties, and help facilitate the final sale. These services range from 1 gp to 10 gp, depending on how experienced and socially connected the agent is.
I'll ask the DM directly then - Tock would like to get a picture of the local criminal and non-criminal activity. He'll visit some of the court proceedings under various disguises, keeps up to date on bounties offered and does some late-night prowling. He will also check all the local bars, pubs, taverns, inns and other types of watering holes, also under various disguises and just keeps his eyes and ears open and remember the characters he encounters.
The goal is to understand and map out the local powers and then **** with it in some way. It also may be that he will learn the goals of others in the group and he might be able to "remove" some blockers in the dark of night or by pretending to be other people.
The above is all done privately.
But after discussing with the group and with agreement by Nev he will from time to time leave the house as Nev while she stays in. Visit the market, walk the park, stuff like that. He might have Martin or someone else tail him and see if her walks gather some extra attention by anyone.

The bounty was 1100 gp for the job, which the party claims without trouble after they are done at the masonry.

(If y'all are staying in Tinosa...where?)
Martin will look for a room at the inn we originally went to.

So....it sounds like the group is going house shopping?

There has been so little news that people have assumed it has ceased.
"I was going to ask you," she says with a weak smile. "Is it safe here?"
