“Dog, I think if we’re going to a cleric, we should bring Ritter’s body. They can get answers from the dead that maybe only Ritter could give. We could also go looking for wherever the hells might be keeping a copy of the rough draft of the accords, but I think if I wished to spread misinformation, that’s how I’d do it. We’d need a heavenly rough draft as a means of comparison to get a better idea of what the agreement looked like in the end. At least then we’d know the stakes.”
"Unfortunately I suspect that if Ritter had any notes, they were also destroyed. Where was most of the actual work of composing the Accords done here in Masa? And how often do they take out the trash? Actually, you said that while Ritter was unique in terms of his skill set, he was not unique in that others were utilized as messengers and scribes and the like. Can you tell us who some of those are who would be likely to talk to us? Particularly scribes?"
Viviora shakes her head. "Ritter was a researcher, nothing more. The authors of the Accords , that is the negotiators themselves, managed all the drafts and kept the notes. No mortal could be trusted with such precious documents. And giving you any names would be considered help, I'm afraid."
"How do you get to the Heavenic Realm of Music and Poetry? Where is it, on this plane? Do you have to die? And is there a way to talk to someone who can get there right now?"
"I couldn't possibly answer that without endangering whatever the Heavens have put on the line."
"If I was able to learn that the accords called for Nev to put on a mind control collar and for Genny to be raised with Aucasia as Bael offered, I would be confused and seriously question the celestial negotiators, but I would go along with it. But I suspect that is not what the Accords actually say. If we told Axonia that we will accompany Nev onto her destination of raising Genny with Aucasia, what would she say? What questions are we not asking that we should to provide some kind of guidance on this? Should Nev know what is in the Accords? Did Nev say anything about the decision during the negotiations? When she was introduced to you, did she have one of these amulets on?"
"Most of these questions I cannot answer either," she says, but she returns this news with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her lips. "Or I do not know the answer as they are locked tightly away in Axonia's notes. I did see Neventi wearing the amulets when I first met her, yes."
"Was Hell the only side that did any kind of pre-Accords interfering (kidnapping, mind control, appearing before the protectors and telling them the Accords called for Hell to get all it wanted)? Or did Heaven also interfere, and if so, how? We never saw anything after that big battle in the army camp by the mountains. That should have nothing to do with the Accords and seems tellable."
"I am afraid I do not know all that came before the ceasefire agreement. My personal impression is that the Heavens have almost exclusively worked to ensure a fair and equitable Accord."
"Actually, another question, Viviora. Is the Mother bound by the Accords? As in, if the Accords stated that she must go to her destination with the protectors, could she leave on her own or would she be bound by it and have to wait for us?"
(Actually, my understanding is that Tock never came. He was working on options other than this one during the entire discussion.)
"The Mother shall only be the Mother and the Protectors shall only be the Protectors. They each have their roles and fulfill them as only they can," says Viviora. "I believe that is an actual translation of something from the Accords."
"And which if any temples of which deities were most involved with the Accords?"
Viviora becomes very scholarly as she considers the question. "That is an interesting question! Oghma and Milil both sent representatives, as did Torm, Savras, and Tyr. Oghma's representative, Axonia, was the lead negotiator. Savras' deva, Holiatrix, and Torm's deva, Martylus, both contributed passionately to the negotiations as well."
In the huddle, “I never got to try dispelling the amulet. She stopped me before I could. I didn’t have the heart to force it on her in front of Genny. She looked so betrayed. She did ask for you Dog. And she did seem like she was willing to wait... I’m just nervous.”
Gash squeezes back out of the huddle, “um excuse me miss, Nev said the accords were in an language she didn’t understand. Would we be able to even read or view the accords and understand them? Will we be provided a translator? Would it be worth our time to view the accords in both the hell realm and the heave one?”

Viviora nods. "That is an excellent question, Gregory," she says. "The Accords were written in the Celestial and Infernal tongues."
(FYI, Neventi does speak and understand both tongues. Tock also knows Celestial. I will assume both shared this with Dog and Gash earlier and that Bulwark would know what Tock speaks, at least."
"Clarification: Viviora, please reaffirm what it is you cannot answer. Suggestion: Dog, if there is a question you pose which she cannot answer, it likely is related in someway to the agreement."
"Clarification: Viviora, please reaffirm what it is you cannot answer. Suggestion: Dog, if there is a question you pose which she cannot answer, it likely is related in someway to the agreement."
Viviora shakes her head slightly. "Remember, I have not read the Accords, so I only know the details secondhand. Much of what I cannot answer is because I am ignorant. What I cannot risk is being accused of providing any aid or influence to you. Thus, I can answer factual questions....except where I don't know the answers."
"It seems the Heavens were excluded from the Accords - they got nothing in the deal as far as we know. Gentoa goes to the steward Hell prefers, Aucasia. The Protectors remain in the dark."
He looks closely at Viviora's face for a reaction.

He looks closely at Viviora's face for a reaction.
She suppresses another smile. "To my knowledge, the Accords have only just begun and the Child has not yet secured any Steward. There is still many days and miles before that task is accomplished."
After Althus gets his answer, Dog will nod in thanks.
"Viviora, thank you for your time. I did want to ask if Passalwyck is still here. Perhaps we call on you again if we have need of you. Is there someone else who might be able to speak with us? I've pestered you with enough questions for a season of pamphlet-writers. You've handled yourself ably and I have no doubt you'll thrive at the library. Please take care of yourself, and Axonia -- there are assassins about, and Ritter was killed after the Accords came into effect. I do have one final question. What do you find most curious about this whole endeavor?"
He turns to Gash, Althus, and Martin (think that's who's left?) once he is out of earshot, looking around to see if he is being observed, and lighting Ritter's lamp again that reveals invisible creatures. He finds a loud source of noise like a fountain or the street outside, and covers his mouth with his hand. "Seems like we may be monitored -- I still don't know how Ritter was murdered so quickly. We're losing time before Nev really wants to get going. And I feel like we still know nothing. So we should seek out a cleric who might be able to break a curse. We should talk to the people at the temple of Milil -- we might be able to kill two birds with one stone doing that. Could also try Oghma's temple too, and Lathander. And it might work to go to Savras and Torm's temples, bluffing our way in, dropping the name of their devas, Holiatrix and Martylus, saying that the devas asked that we speak to whoever's in charge there, and ask if they know of any scribes used in the Accords we could talk to. We could also try to go to another temple not affiliated with the negotiations and see if they have a cursebreaker not bound by the need to not interfere."
He looks at Martin and Althus. "Either of you religious?"
Althus asks another question, "Who may be considered a Steward? There's more to it than simply naming a person, right?"
"This is a level of detail that I cannot speak to, but," Viviora says with a long hestitation, "I believe that a Steward can be anyone who both knowingly accepts the role, is capable of doing it, and is viewed and accepted as such by the Adjudicator."
"Viviora, thank you for your time. I did want to ask if Passalwyck is still here."
Viviora arches an eyebrow in surprise. "Yes, I believe the way to Passalwyck is still in Masa. I cannot aid you with the location, I'm afraid. Nor do I have it memorized. It is...complicated."
"Please take care of yourself, and Axonia -- there are assassins about, and Ritter was killed after the Accords came into effect. I do have one final question."
She nods gravely. "I do not believe I am protected by the Accords. The devas may be, thankfully. I shall take care and be vigilant," she says.
"What do you find most curious about this whole endeavor?"
Viviora laughs as a sense of relief visibly washes over her. "All of it, to be honest. The strangest to me is being able to peer for just a moment into the way that devas and devils think about us mortals. It is...alarming and comforting all at once. Good...bye Protectors. I would wish you luck if I could. I do hope to see you again someday once everything is finished."
Seeing nods and -- understandably for the newcomers -- perhaps befuddled and dazed expressions, Dog sees no real alternative to their next step and goes on a wild cleric chase through the course of the evening, stopping at the temples of Milil, then Lathander, then a trade- or commerce-based deity like Waukeen that had nothing to do with the accords, then Oghma, then Savras, then Torm, if there's time before things started to close up. He'd suggest that perhaps either Martin or Althus go back to the temple of Tymora to update Tock and Bulwark about what they learned and what Dog and the rest are doing. He'll also try to remind everyone of what Tymora's herald told them about how they can't leave Masa without finding out what's at stake with the accords, what the rules are, and what the deal is with the protectors.
Upon arrival at each temple, he'd ask if there is a priest skilled enough to break a curse upon a worn magic item.
If this is ever successful, (and he's assuming the best shot would be the commerce-based deity that wasn't close to the accords) he would try to enter into a contract with them somehow to come to Neventi's inn the following morning to meet them and attempt to get the amulet off her. He'd show the amulets they still have to give them a better sense of what they'd be facing.
Assuming this is not successful, if he is told no, he asks if any of the temples had scribes or others who worked at all with the negotiations for the Accords. He'll drop the name of a deva when he can, and not be shy about mentioning protectors once he's talking to someone who has a bit of pull. He'll ask about Passalwyck. And he'll try to get any clues about the estate where the accords were actually negotiated.
All while he's doing this, he trying to come up with tactics to delay Nev and Genny from departing Masa. And wishing that there was a clue he could buy, because while his mind is racing, it does not know where to aim. (OOC: He is not a wise man.)

"When the Child has secured a Steward," Viviora says, as if reciting.
“And what happens when a steward is secured?”
