A'ro just looks at Sharn "We started by simply playing a game with some of the gentlemen and then after a while they led me into a room that way..." he pauses lifting his hand from his injured shoulder to point at the door grimacing a little as the pain set it, making sure Sharn saw it "They had talked about how they had done something with someone named lefty. As I got closer I began to realize they were onto me and when three of them began to circle and charge me with intent to kill me, we defended ourselves with appropriate force. Nothing was escalated until those men presented an intent to kill us."
A'ro just moves to a chair and sits down looking at Sharn "You can go look for yourself - I'll stay here with some guards if you want or I can follow and help provide insight. We won't resist your decision Warden. We are just trying to do our job as pirate hunters and help you all when we can, I'm sorry if this was a little over the top and if we got zealous with it. We're just tired of ******* up at ever corner and just wanted to try and show we could be helpful to the Wardens instead of just trouble makers."
"And certanly you wouldn't mind if we look for them do you?" adds Dekket.
( Persuasion if needed: 22 )
At the convincing tiefling's persuasive tone and words, the large barman begins to nod his head without thinking and then freezes in the act with eyes wide and a grimace on his face, saying, "Well... Pa won't like no snooping too much, but I suppose the Wardens will do what they please anyway, but the baroness will hear of this. We've got friends with clout as well, oh yes we do!"

The broadshouldered half-orc sergeant seems to dismiss Earl's implied threat and nods in agreement at Dekket's and Aro's words, finally stating, "Well, Barney Barney may not like it, but he can lump it. I plan to have this wrapped up by the time the Cove Warden gets here... he's been in a foul enough mood lately with all the recent unrest.
I'll leave one Warden out here, so the three of you can accompany the rest of us inside if you want or wait out here for Golm - your choice."
And with that simple statement, the no-nonsense fighter unconsciously hefts her shield a little higher before stomping past the surly barman into the Crate's dimly lit taproom beyond.

The burly Sharn nods at the information A'ro imparts and indicates assent at Kes waiting outside with one of her watchman while Dekket accompanies the rest within, but as the genasi reaches for the handle she grunts in the negative and brushes past the much slighter sorcerer to barge into the taproom, muttering, "We're the law here. Let us Ward you. It is what we're paid to do, brave one."
As the half-orc sergeant and her two men enter the seedy tavern, the previously noisy banter fades somewhat as cowled heads and lidded eyes turn to regard the entrance of Wardens and the return of the white-haired, blue-skinned man who'd only recently been seen fleeing for their lives. No one makes any overt move to obstruct or even address the new arrivals, but there is a noticable simmer of hostile tension in the air as the mohawked officer and your group make your way through the packed tables towards the bar. The door to the smoking rooom is closed, though small wafts of pungent odor still seem to emerge from within.
For all intents and purposes, the interior of the Crate looks much like it did prior to the altercation between A'ro and his assailants, except for the noticable hole in one of the room's shattered windows. The proprietor's other lumpy son, Buck, stands behind the counter, grunting in a muted conversation with two other only men. One of them, who A'ro recognises as Brannin, the instigator of the party's initial troubles in the Prancing Pirate on the night he signed with the Shark, slams his hand on the hardwood counter before spinning away to leave the establishment with the other man at his side, giving the Wardens and A'ro a dark look as he mutters over his shoulder to the bartender, "... don't like it. And me boss won't like it! Nor her friends... if'n you get my drift, Buck. Miss Danferit will hear of this mess, you tell your pa that!"
Buck merely grunts back and spits into a tankard that he is wiping with disinterest, his blunt features studying the Wardens and A'ro, not seeming to yet place Dekket with this group of clearly unwelcome visitors. There is a moment of relative quiet and calm as the Wardens size up the room.

As her men men keep a close eye on the tavern patrons, Sharn proceeds to ask Buck in the sergeants blunt, no-nonsense fashion about the fight that A'ro was a part of, and where the genasi's assailants might be. While the barman seems initially hesitant to speak, he eventually admits that the scuffle took place, but claims that it was just a typical bar-room scrap between gambling tablemates who got into a mundane argument over winnings. When Sharn presses her interogation about the location of the men A'ro fought with, Buck says,
"Pa threw them out. He knew you lot would come by... poking your noses in, as always. And before you ask, no, I don't know wheres they went. And don't care none either. Now if you ain't drinking, the door's behind you."
The tension in the room has not abatted and the Warden sergeant seems less than pleased with the answers and treatment she's recieved, but she appears momentarily undecided on what to say or do next.

A'ro just looks at the man and nods as he points to the smokers room "I was lead into the smokers room after clearing their interview with me. Through there I met a man named Nelson who told them to take me to down and introduce me to Lefty. Who from a previous investigation I learned was an individual involved in the theft of the crates was punished for his take being a little light. This led to him being relieved of a few a hand according to my source - that paired with the change in air of the individuals after the man told them to take me to where Lefty was ended up in myself trying to run. One man threw a dagger at me, I defended myself and was able to get through the door into the alley before anymore harm could come down on me."
Sharn nods her head at A'ro's words and looks at the smoking room door before staring with a level gaze back at the barman, saying, "Is that so, A'ro? Well in that case, we'd best go have a look for ourselves where this attack took place... and also take a look at the previous lodgings of these attackers, I think. Not that I'm questioning your story about having thrown them out, Buck. But you know how the Cove Warden is about such things. We need to be thorough, afterall."
For a moment, as the sergeant and entourage head towards the smoking room door, it appears as though Buck is going to protest, perhaps violently so. But a resentful glance across the armed wardens seems to convince the belligerant but not suicidal man otherwise, and as the large barman eases back from the counter, Dekket's observant eye notices that a number of other toughened individuals across the taproom likewise ease back into the chairs.
Sharn opens the door to reveal the smoke-filled room beyond, it's large round oaken table and array of smoking paraphenalia, as well as a handful of men resting at ease, in addition to the antler-helmed dwarf from earlier. There is no sign of Nelson, Ned or the rest of the gang that A'ro had run afoul of. Stepping into the room, Sharn looks at A'ro as to whether any of the people here were involved in the attack.

Dekket notices a few hostile stares are sent the way of the Wardens by some of the less reputable people in the Crate's taproom, but no one looks interested in starting anything... at least not yet. A scantily dressed woman of middle years, with dyed red hair, heavy crease lines around her face and hard eyes siddles up to the hooded tiefling's side. With a harsh chuckle and a bold stare, the woman says, "Hello, stranger. A bit balmy in here for cloak and hood, wouldn't you say. Perhaps you'll buy a lonely lady a drink and we can see about warming you up some... hmm?"
A'ro looks around, but the poor light and heavy smoke makes it difficult to take note of particular details. The room doesn't appear to have any windows and the only other door appears to be the one that the thugs tried to usher 'Ro' through just prior to the attack. None of the men in the room look familiar or seem interested in getting involved in Warden business. The antler-helmed dwarf merely sits smoking his pipe, periodically quaffing ale from his tankard, though he seems to be showing more interest in your entrance than any of the others in the room.

Ha! Must be less than a man under that cloak then, I'm thinking. Here, come and sit with Petrick instead. We can keep each other warm, and drink this fine night away besides."
Inside the smoking room, Sharn strides towards the door indicated by A'ro and tries the handle only to find it locked. She sends one of her patrol to Buck to demand a key and after only a moment of waiting the group passes into the room beyond. This space looks like it has mainly been used for liquor storage and basic food prep, with one door leading back towards the bar area, another in the North wall and the last in the East wall. The half-orc sergeant turns towards A'ro with a look of uncertainty and asks, "Which way?"
