"Well, not to compliment me own abilities, but I am the ship's mage fer a reason. These are called Goggles of Night. An Infusion of arcane energies that me can craft every so often. Figured if we have to keep an eye out, might as well be able to see what we can to the best of our abilities, yes? Even if you have night eyes, this will let ye see further than ye usually could." Virt says with a smile, as he pulls his goggles up. "It's funny to see the world one way than to see it another."
Virt pulls them back down and looks around again. "Unfortunately, I can only make items like this every so often. I do need to rest to get the energy to do so again. So these goggles are it, for tonight at least."

Thank you, Virt. I'll give them back to you in the morning.

" Well sarge " he says as he walks by " looks that you deserve a promotion here... " he winks at her " I hope that you can share a drink or two when you celebrate"
"Yeah, it's pretty interesting to see the world like this. That's why I joined the ship, to learn more about my powers and to grow as a specialist in making arcane items. That's not all I can do, I can do so much more. Just only so much at once." Virt finishes his drink and sets the mug down. As large as he was, something this small was always down his gullet quickly. Virt chuckles at Kestrell, knowing he felt the same way when he first discovered he could imbue magic into items and ACTUALLY make them work.
Virt pulls out his book and starts a sketch of Kestrell, a small one of him wearing the goggles. Something to help him remember this moment. It's always a beautiful sight when someone is enthralled by your magic and not terrified of it. After some time he will feel a rumble in his stomach. He'll ignore it, for now, knowing the captain has a good spread for the officers back on the ship.

Cat Vaken sniffs around to see if any one scent is stronger than the others.
Perception w/adv b/c cat noses are awesome: 15
Sniffing around the cellar, Cat Vaken's nose detects all sorts of lingering scents - dirt, old sweat, dried wood and an oily odour being strongest among them. One of the crates smells like steel and oil, while one of the barrels contain brine-preserved sardines and other small fish, a fact that sets the feline's stomach rumbling.
The scents around to the door left of the stairs are less pronounced, but the smell around the door to the right also includes the faint, old scent of blood.
Dekket walks down and goes with A'ro towards the door and tries to see what's on it.

Having secured the relatively small room, Sergeant Sharn is in the process of giving the boxes, crates and barrels a cursory examination with the other Wardens. Wiping a bit of sweat off her brow with the back of one strong, caloused hand, the burly officer says, "Not much room for promotion 'round here. Still, I'm thinking that the Cove Warden, the Dubol and your Captain Audrey will be happy to hear that the stolen goods have been found. Now to catch the thieves."
The Wardens leave the secured goods, and raising their crossbows again turn to cover A'ro as he walks towards the door on the right.

Approaching the door on the right, A'ro can see now that the surface has been scratched and cut as though by a knife or some other sharp instrument. Engraved crudely into the face of the door is a ship with five stars above it and below the scrawled words, 'Luskan Forever!'

He looks to the remaining warden. "Should we go in and check on them?"
The remaining Warden, a solid, middle-aged woman with curly, brown hair responds, "You can do as you please, sailor. I was ordered to keep watch out here and I ain't heard nothing from inside to make me ignore those orders. I'm expecting the Cove Warden to arrive with back-up soon... not that I think the Sergeant will need it against drunk thugs and bar scum."

Kestrell takes a few steps into the tavern and hollers for Dekket or A'ro. "DEKKET, A'RO, HOW IS IT GOING?"
Stepping into the Crate's taproom, Kestrell sees no sign of A'ro, Dekket or the Wardens. Heads across the taproom swing in Kestrell's direction at the navigator's indiscriminate shout. Most go back to their drinking and other activies quickly enough, though a few glower at the ship's officer in something approaching resentment. The only person in the room who responds is one of the large, lumpy barkeeps... Earl, you think... who shouts back, "Shut your pie-whole, Pretty boy. Your friends and those Wardens are downstairs.... with all the other rats. Through there!"
The meaty paw that he raises indicates somewhere through a partially open door to the left of the bar.

Drawing back to his dragon cannon. He doesn't know what to call it, but that's what it is. A large device that shoots arcane fires from ship to ship. He doesn't know if he'll ever be able to make such a thing but the thought of it excited him. Dreaming in his books, his lil pa used to say. Noticing something small crawl out from under one of the plates, Virt makes a mental note to thank Kestrell for his intervention later.
Walking through a currently empty room apparently fitted for recreational smoking, the two ship's officers pass through into a storage and food prep room, in which they find an open door at the top of stair leading down. Following the flight of wooden stairs into a poorly maintained cellar area, Virt and Kes notice the boxes, crates and barrels stored here, as well as their companions and the Wardens, all of whom appear to be crowding around one of the two doors in this chamber, the one to the right of the stairs.
Noticing the two men's descent and arrival, the Wardens' crossbows swing in their direction, before a curt nod from their Sergeant brings them back online with the door before them. Virt and Kes notice that A'ro stands closest to the door.
