OOC: The title will be Colonel Lauren rather than Corporal, sorry about that.
"Of course, the liaison for the Crimson Guard at Fort Reckoning is Nezarat's right-hand man and spymaster, Third Eye. Be careful of that one, he is a strange and disconnected man. And none trust him." Even thinking about it causes Valen to shake his head as a shiver runs down his body in discomfort at the thought of that man.
"We shall speak with this... Third Eye" The warforged will reply before making a sound as though he is clearing his throat. "Once your men bring me anything of worth from the rebel corpses, we will continue on our way." Slag would say in his rough metallic voice before glancing towards his companions. "Unless there are any further questions of course"
Marrow's eager to get back on the road and doesn't make any bones about it. Pulling Slag aside, she asks him to drop his human cargo slung across his shoulder, briefly onto the ground and step away. She says, "he may not be able to move in those manacles, but if he wakes, he can hear and see plenty. We got any brilliant ideas of how to keep him from listening to us as we plan and head south and possibly talk about what we're doing?"
She also asks everyone: "Is anyone interested in following the tracks of the rebels who fled? I'm not. At all, really. I've done that task enough in my life. But someone else might be bored enough to follow their trail and find out where they're nested."
As she moves around the assembled groups, she'll pull aside one or two of her traveling companions surreptitiously and remind them (likely unnecessarily) that their mission is not for the ears of caravan guards. She'll also mention that she obtained more information about the rebel mission than is prudent to share in mixed company, asking her companions in a few different ways, "who, other than these rebels, do you think might wish to see a Disfavored caravan hit so hard?"
OOC: yes this will be long enough for a short rest.
Valen stops for a moment thinking to himself before replying. "Just be careful yourself, something is strange about the higher-ups of the Crimson Guard. Like they are not at all human anymore." The men collect some useful leftovers from the battle, nothing of major value as the rebels are lacking in valuables but you get several damaged sets of varying armor pieces, some well-used swords, and used bows. (Will add value later) "No, I believe we are good to be on our way as well." Turning to Marrow with his usual smile. "See you around soon Marrow, don't be a stranger when I get reassigned. I usually follow Ashe, where ever he is I am not far behind." He then offers a wave before moving to the caravan, telling the men to mount up and get back underway ASAP.
Ildear you recall stories of Third Eye, rumors commonly intermingle with fact. That the man has a direct connection to Nezarat himself, he can look through animals, he knows all secrets. But one thing is for sure, for the thing that what was once man, Nezarat, trust no one but Third Eye comes close.
"Stay out of trouble now would ya?" Slag would say to Valen as he prepares to depart. After securing the items recovered from the raid and continuing on their way, the large warforged would sat the prisoner down and listen to Marrow's words. "Well.. I mean we could cut his ears off... but he may be harder to question if he sustains permamant damage..." The warforged would say tapping what you assume is his chin under the hood of his robe. "Perhaps... something simple..." Slag would say as he empties some water into the dirt and sirs it with the tip of his javelin. Once the dirt has formed a thick mud, the warforged would take his long needle like fingers and begin packing the prisoners ears with the mud as tightly as he can before pulling out some leather straps from his leatherworking tools. Slag would take the straps and pull them tightly over his eyes and over his ears to keep the mud in and to prevent him from seeing as well before securing them behind his head. "That should do." Slag would say with a flicker of his right eye before loading up the prisoner and continuing forward.
Marrow turns to Valen on her way to the road, saying "I'm not sure when I'll see Ashe next, but I'll keep an eye out for you."
She looks around the horizon, trying to see if there's anyone she doesn't know about already: perception 5
"Nice work, Slag," she says, as she watches the warforged blind and deafen the rebel leader. "I put him down pretty hard so he probably won't wake up for a while, but it's always good to be sure."
"Thanks, It is no problem" The warforged would say to Marrow before looking to Tork. "We were chosen for this task because of our unique skills and abilities... I am sure that ya have a number of abilities that surpass my own." he would say with a flicker of his eyes as he takes the back of his spear and taps the half-orcs large muscular frame. "Although I fear ya may never be as handsome as myself...." Slag would say before letting out a loud chuckle that sounds as though he is gargling gravel before giving Tork a wink with his flickering right eye.
You lift the unconscious prisoner onto your shoulders as you watch the caravan get underway. Captain Valen giving wave goodbye to Marrow shouting. "Don't worry, I will be keeping one eye out for you." He says before hopping onto the driver's seat of a moving wagon. You look around Marrow, the road and nearby forest are empty as the bodies of Disfavored have been collected and the captured rebels loaded into the wagons. (assuming you guys did not want to watch another three prisoners.) You do not recognize anyone else particularly well Marrow.
You all set out back on the road and about an hour later you arrive at the gates of the fortress, two Disfavored guards with spears and shields stand on either side, motioning for you to stop as you approach the open palisade gate. "Greetings, state your business before we can allow you to enter."
Slag would remove the prisoner from his shoulder and drop him hard on to the ground in front of him before pulling out the talisman from inside his robes. Holding the symbol in his narrow metallic fingers, the warforged would address the guards. "We are here on behalf of Tunon... the archon of justice" He would pause standing up as straight as he could, placing a large amount of weight on his javelin. "We have an urgent message to deliver... as well as the leader of a band of rebels that attacked a disfavored caravan earlier today." He would exclaim quite loudly in his deep metallic voice.
OOC: was wondering what happened to those prisoners!
Marrow keeps waving goodbye to Valen, with a shit-eating grin on her face, long after it's become socially... expected... to do so, trying to get a laugh.
OOC: Has Marrow been to Ft. Reckoning before?
At the gates, Marrow looks somewhat skeptically at Slag as he announces their intentions so clearly (she's clearly more used to subtlety and subterfuge and walking up to the front gate is not her go-to plan). When he mentions the rebel leader, she steps forward and says, "I'm the one who felled him and decided not to behead him like I did some of his friends, so I can brief whoever might be interested in what he has to say."
The fort is of typical Disfavored design. With only one main entrance and a smaller one far end of the complex, opening to a smaller river that feeds into the Queen's River. The palisade of wood surrounds the complex, standing about 10 feet high, topped in sloped top to prevent easy climbing. Inside the normal sounds of camp as weapons are repaired, troops continue to drill and so on.
The left side guard perks up inspects the symbol before nodding and motioning for his partner to do the same. "Apologises servant of Tunon. I did not know who you were. Inform the prisoner guard, he will collect your prisoner and keep him secure. Also, Ashe and Nezarat prepare for the next assult in the command tent a bit further into the camp, you are free to enter at anytime."
Slag would nod and step over the crumpled prisoner as he enters through the gate of the fortress. The warforged would tuck the talisman into his robes as he walks, making sure to keep it close to his chest.
Marrow follows suit and enters the compound, finding the prisoner guard and briefly briefing them on how he was taken. She tells them he knew about the caravan and where to hit it, but does not tell them how she knows this or that she knows it from finding the letter in his pocket (she hasn't told anyone this).
She swiftly rejoins the party and is ready to find the command tent.

Tork thanks Slag with a smile, and starts to get ready for the road ahead.
Slag would turn and nod to Tork, his right eye flickering a bit in what you assume is a wink

After the talking is done Ildaer gets ready to get.back on the road.
