Mixum Upgood
Mixum lets the conversation flow around him. He is eager to be on a real adventure, a rescue mission even, but his attention at the moment is torn. His burrow is having a mind of its own and does not like to be in the middle of road surrounded by large horses. It takes a few moments but 'Edgur', the burrow, plows its way through till he is on the far right side of the road. Mixum waves and smiles an apology as best he can but he has a rein in each hand and he is holding them up higher and higher but it all seems to have little effect on Edgur. Luckily the burrow seems to want to travel with the other horses.

It's a comfort that you all are hard to get through. Even more of one that we know what to expect from each other. And if I have anything to say (or sing) about it, any thing trying to harm any of you will be doing so with a distraction or two. It may well be, as they say, quite functional.

Ehla gave you all the impression that she was too busy to accompany your group, but assured you she would stay behind in Canheim to await your report. The tavern your group reunited in seemed to be the temporary head quarters (Intelligence checks DC 10 recall the name of the Tavern to be: "The Ancient Toad") and you suspect some of the deeds Ehla was glancing at as you all talked may have been plans for upgrade.
After collecting the steeds from "Sun Fed Steeds", your party starts its journey riding out of the west gate to Canheim. Making small talk to reconnect with those you have come to trust, you learn that many things have changed while also much remaining the same about your childhood friends. The warm day greets your quest to investigate Werflowe, and though the day is proving to be a peaceful start, many of you are keeping a watchful eye nonetheless (OOC: Essentially this was the majority of your party's perception checks)
In the front of the group, Slate watches on as Nyaris rides further ahead to scout. It isn't long before Nyaris returns riding back and hears the conversations of her friends but notices Lancel calling for her attention from the back - "Nyaris, anything up ahead?" Lancel gestures for her to come near for an obvious divine boon.
The scout results for Nyaris
Aside from the small woodland creatures, the trail ahead seems to be uneventful albeit a beautiful collection of floral bordering the road ahead. Nyaris spots a fork in the road with the roads continuing north and the other to the west. The common language of the land describes the two options to lead to "Ardroth" and "Mercadia". Knowing Mercadia lays to the west, Nyaris knows this should be the direction for her party to take and returns back to ride in the direction of her group.
OOC: If you accept Lancel's spell, keep in mind you have the bonuses from Guidance on your next roll. If you wish this to be standard operating procedure to always accept such buffs (outside of combat) then just add it to an OOC write-up (I keep a list).
Nyaris speaks to the progress of her training since her childhood, "I-I--I---I've learned the way of the woods and the beasts from my m-m-m-mentor in this past year. I'll gladly do my part to make El-Elha's venture a success. My bbbow and speed are ready and willing." The confidence in her tone riddled with the girl's curse of a stutter takes you all back to how frustrating, yet hilarious it was for Nyyaris to explain where the mud covered moon cake had come from on your walk back to Canheim the day of your battle with Varkas's bullies.
"No better person to be guiding us in our current situation" Lancel assures his friend with a wink and a gentle pat to her shoulder as they ride ahead. The peaceful exchange enveloped by the group's cheerful conversations along with the dwarf-like chest thumping of Slate, "Aye, Lancel is right! Any one that wants to hurt the lot of ya will have to go through us first!" The dark haired dwarf would exclaim as he pulls out his flail and spins it around quickly before slamming the head into his shield with a loud "GONG". The loud sound emanating from Lancel's shield causes a flock of birds to fly out from a group of trees to the Northwest.

It is possible the animals could be under a variety of spells such as a beast charm of some sort, or perhaps even polymorphed or wild shape from that of a druid. Then again, any beast hungry enough can certainly act outside of its normal behavior but the coordination of stealing entire flocks of sheep seems beyond what you know a pack of wolves to be capable of. More pieces of the puzzle are needed for an accurate assessment to determine arcane magic to be a factor.

I like the idea of the standard operating procedures some of your characters have wrote. This can save us time awaiting for someone to post and "assuming" they are going to go with their standard actions that they always do. Be careful here though, I keep a list and often check it twice. This may also mean you may not always want to ride ahead, or always want to be the negotiator during an encounter, feel free to add "triggers" for such SOP.
In addition, you can pretty much assume (unless stated) that the actions and conversations you all post are happening around you regardless of whether I include them in my blurb. I sometimes will highlight to focus towards a certain conversation, or maybe even to just add additional flavor (I'm a fan of red herrings to mitigate metagamery shenanigans).
Lastly, if I miss anything (which is always possible and likely to happen, use best judgement to roll with it or ask for a recall). Posts can be edited but I enjoy a seamless transition to keep things rolling ahead but I don't like ignoring anyone especially if it was something important that needed to be done.
The more I consider ways to improve I have just yet another request. I'm a big fan of Wakarusa's use of color coding along with identifying which character he is at the start of the post. Is it possible to adopt this? In addition, anyone want to kindly inform this learning DM on how to color a selection of text in a post?

To create the colored text
Select the text you want to be a different color.
In the editor buttons, click the capital A between "Font Sizes" and the bullet point button.
Choose your color.
Several of us have added our character name/color in the signature section so it is always there at the bottom. Does that serve well enough or are you specifically asking us to type our character name/color at the start of each post?
All - after some ongoing discussions with Wraith, I've opted to switch classes from ranger to rogue. Everything else about the character concept remains the same. She is still a nature-oriented scout-y archer character. She is probably going be an Arcane Trickster unless 1st and 2nd levels change the plan.
