She looks at Creature and lets out a shaky sigh, she raises her hands, up slightly toward her sides to keep them visible as she climbs off the chair., slowly and deliberately. While she climbs down, away from Creature's general direction, she talks: "It's a bit more complicated than that. I'm taking orders, and after the confusion with Golden Drill, this was one of my only chances to get away from the people who've been having me do this."

"Once the boss learns about the Velias Family's arrest... shit, shit! I'm a dead woman walking. If I had just disappeared after the attack they'd assume I was dead, but this? This is an insult to the boss. I don't even want to imagine the shit they're gonna do to me."

Whispers looks from Spy to Creature and back again, sparing a quick look at Ilia to see what she's doing.

While all the attention is on Spy, she quietly uses Detect Thoughts to start reading surface thoughts, starting with Spy.

Welp, so much for the nat20. Spy, roll WIS save.

Thinking: (( Damn, hope he bought that victim card. If I can just buy enough time to get out of here, it'll be easy to look up what jail they're in, go there and... )) Seeing Whispers wave her hands and say something, Spy looks over. (( What did she just do? What was that hand wave? ))

Whispers smirks ever so slightly at Spy, wiggling fingers at her in way of greeting. However, she says nothing and just watches Spy with those weird gray eyes. She'll then switch her gaze to Creature for a few seconds then again to Ilia, as if she's following a conversation even when no one is speaking.

Ilia: (ooo, is Whispers doing her thing? I think Whispers is doing her thing. Yeah she’s doing her thing. She’s listening to me right now isn’t she. Yeah she is. Hi Whispers!)

Whispers covers her mouth, eyes turning on Creature.

For Ilia:

Creature's mind is a jumble of police codes and scenario after scenario of potential take downs to incapacitate the unknown threat.

Whispers blinks a bit then turns her full attention back to Spy.. only to frown and sit back in her seat, arms crossed.

Spy shoots a glare toward Whispers. Knowing now that Whispers has been digging around in her head, she pushes the following thoughts to the surface. (( You planning to talk? I get the impression that you're different from the others. You don't strike me as a snitch, but I've been wrong before. )) Despite her careful words, she looks like she's getting more panicked by the second. You can see the sweat on her forehead, the worried look in her eyes. Realizing she might arouse suspicion if she doesn't keep talking, she blurts out "I need to relax... there - there's no way they could know where I am yet. Right? I just need... I just need to find out how to keep it that way. Yeah. I think I don't need to be here. These are my problems, not you guys' problems."

Whispers makes no indication that she heard those last thoughts from Spy. Currently she's sitting there looking perturbed.

Creature relaxes a hair, as he continues to stare at Spy. "You ... were forced to commit those crimes? Why?"

Having calmed down slightly herself, Spy begins doing her best to weave a fabric of lies just thick enough to escape. "My powers are... well suited to theft and espionage. You've seen me shapeshift already. Somehow, the boss must've learned about my power. It wasn't long after the event before I was flagged down and given an... opportunity and ultimatum by my contact. Any deeper reason is unknown to me - I'm just a lowly associate in the organization. Useful, but expendable. And worth making an example of over this flub. Why, are you planning to stop the boss?" She directs a question back toward Creature after elaborating on her earlier lie, hoping to slip his guard further. She keeps glancing back toward Whispers, sure in the knowledge that at any time, this tapestry of falsehood could be destroyed with a single word from her. The panic Spy is feeling right now fills her with adrenaline - a feeling she's started to grow almost addicted to.

Whispers is watching the exchange with Creature and Spy with much interest before she moves to sit down next to Ilia and whispers to her the old fashioned way.

Ilia:

"What can you tell us about your 'boss'?" Creature asks.

Ilia whispers back.

Whispers leans back, kicking her feet up. She continues to speak quietly with Ilia but eyes are back on Creature and Spy.

Spy gathers her thoughts for a moment. Noticing the whispering that's popped up, the tension doesn't ease from her at all. "Not much, outside that he, or she, has influence and very specific expectations of me. It's all a... pretty impressive operation actually. I take orders from a contact who calls himself Red via dead drop on Friday every week. The orders can be simply the location of next week's drop, or they can be as complicated as to hit a specific location at a specific time, draining a specified amount from a particular set of accounts. I drop off a report on the following Wednesday at the next location, before receiving a response and new instructions on Friday. I've met Red personally only a couple of times, accompanied by an entourage of 2 others, presumably for security. As for the boss, I know very little outside of how dangerous they are to cross."

She shakes her head. "Even telling you now is a big mistake. I... Shouldn't be saying any of this. But there's not much else left to do. Maybe I've wanted to get all of this off my chest for a while. But if they're going to look for me and turn me into a skin puppet or something either way... I don't know."
